Ok, I admit it. I forgot how epic that guitar solo was.
This song has so much meaning. It’s about Steven’s recovery journey. Gives me chills.
You guys often talk about duets. Like Steven Tyler with pink. But have you checked out the video of Run DMC with Steven Tyler doing Aerosmith song Walk This Way! You really should!
I had no idea...now hearing the lyrics it seems so obvious lol. Thanks for the info
So sad he just relapsed 😢
@@wrldchamps04 the line “we got one last shot, a permanent vacation” refers to the making and release of the album “permanent vacation”. It was the first album they made after they got back together and all became sober. It propelled them into the mid 80’s. Then they followed that up with “Pump” and the rest is history.
Many years later I finally broke down this song and OMG what true words!
I worked with Steve, Joe and the rest of Aerosmith in Cambridge, Ma. back in the 70's. When my wife was dying from multiple sclerosis three years ago, Steve sent her a special letter to read. Janine loved him, and I'll never forget him for what he did. He's an amazing man! I love the guy.💕
This is part of a little trilogy of songs, which includes "Crazy" and "Crying" as well. Steve Tyler's daughter Liv and Alicia Silverstone feature in the videos for all three songs, and the videos combine to tell a little story. That was what got Liv into the acting world iirc.
They've got to see Liv Tyler in these. Arwen is lovely as Arwen but I still picture Liv from these videos and Empire Records.
I’m pretty sure they’ve already done both those songs, I’m just not sure they realized they were connected to each other
@@thegingergyrl455 THAT was an awesome soundtrack!❤❤
@@thegingergyrl455 At this point, they probably need to revisit those videos, having just seen her in LOTR, and with how long it’s been since they saw them.
They would benefit from a revisit.
@@adnap yes- that’s why when I commented about the 3 being a trilogy.. I asked that they do them close together. I’d forgotten they’ve done “Crazy.” But them my memory has been bad lately..🤨
There’s a reason they are Americas Greatest Rock Band.
In every country you have good music
Hey y’all! In my top 10, probably 5 favorite bands of ALL TIMES- And this song is part of a trilogy of songs- now y’all just gotta do “Cryin” and “Crazy” next. With official videos of course- Soon..PLEASE! While each stays fresh on y’all’s minds..💝💙✨👍
I had a quick check and they've already done 'Crazy' but not 'Cryin' yet, which is probably my favourite of the three.
The videos are a trilogy? In what order?
Love this song , it’s about his recovery and Aerosmiths comeback! We almost lost this great band !
Steven Tyler's voice is elastic like taffy. He puts his voice through the ringer and makes sounds that shouldn't sound attractive, and yet Tyler still sounds awesome and phenomenal. His voice is truly a gift from god.
This isn't even Tyler's best vocal performance, but it is one of them. So many other great Aerosmith tunes to hear.
The guitar solo in this is fantastic and if you listen to the words it is all about the band and addiction coming out of it etc. I've had the opportunity to meet the band six times now and I've watched Steven totally focused on the fans that are backstage that are talking about addiction to him or how this particular song saved them. His eyes would not leave theirs he didn't care if there were other people that were in line for autographs or pictures he devoted his whole attention to whoever had a story to tell him. He is truly an amazing man pardon the pun
Hi Michelle
Thank the boys for putting on free park concerts in the Boston area in the early 70s for us city teens.
Live , Up Close and Cool !
That's not what a pun is.
Stephen Tyler is my man!! Have seen them a few times. One of the greatest voices in rock. Joe Perry one of the greatest guitarists! He shreds it! The entire band of Aerosmith rocks. Thanks guys!
This man has soul and the guitar solo was A-amazing.
The most underrated guitar solo of all time. The last third of the song is Joe Perry absolutely killing and murdering all-comers . No one ever talks about this.
Sending prayers to Steven Tyler. Cancelled last two shows in Vegas due to illness but no one saying what’s wrong. He’s always been so open about addiction and health. Loved him since the 10th grade. Seen them more times than I can count. Be well Steven. Love you. ❤❤❤❤
Steven Tyler ❤️🙏🏼
Well, when you consider that he is 74 and put his body through hell in his younger years, it's not surprising if he has some occasional health issues. This is not to say that I am not concerned about his well-being, only that it is pretty much a given that his body is going to be very tired and worn by now. I hope he recovers quickly and he suffers no lasting effects
They actually ended up canceling the rest of the shows for this year too 😢 I think it ended up being like 4 or 5 altogether
Wonderful song by Aerosmith. Great vocals by Steven, accompanied by Don Henley who lends his vocals and is shadowing Steven in parts. This was released in 1993. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️ ❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦
You might want to check out the movie Armageddon (1998). Liv Tyler stars with an ensemble cast that includes Bruce Willis. Also, her dad is on the soundtrack. She's also in That Thing You Do! (1996).
Love Aerosmith. Steven Tyler has a phenomenal voice.
Such a powerful comment at the end of the song that often gets overlooked. 'Just remember, the light at the end of the tunnel may be you'. Definitley words to live by 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Janie's Got a Gun shows Steven Tyler's voice so incredibly!!! The subject of the song is deep, but also the vocals and instruments just kill it.
Yep, very deep. It's not just about abuse, but also time travel, believe it or not.
Ese solo de Joey Perry es de los mejores de la década. Emoción total
I've had the pleasure of seeing Aerosmith several times both in their drugged out days, and their sober days.... Including the 25th anniversary of Woodstock show.... Truly one of the most iconic live bands in rock history!
I saw them in 1979. I'm pretty sure they were at a low point, because they were a sloppy mess.
I saw them for the 2nd time in the late 90’s and they built a stage in the grass section and came and played like 3/4 songs for the nose bleed section. It was sooooo awesome, I was like 10 ft away.
@@mikeb3835 was joe with them? If joe was gone it was definitely a low point lol
Sucks so hard that he recently relapsed
Great reaction guys.
Nothing better than listening to Aerosmith. Unless of course, it's standing 25 feet from them, watching perfection in action.
One of the best bands ever. Aerosmith rocks and this song speaks so much truth. Life is a journey, not a destination. Live it! Steven's voice gives me chills.
I saw Aerosmith live in 2015 and it was an amazing concert! ❤️
You can't get any better than Aerosmith.....their work is perfect in every way. I raised my kids listening to them all the time...now it's my daughter's fav band AND my grand daughter also. My daughter, when she was only 7 years old could always tell it was Steven Tyler singing when one of their songs came on the radio.
The best American banded ever with the second best ever frontman with Steven just behind Freddie.
Amber, Jay, you might enjoy knowing that; for such a legendary rocker, Steven Tyler is also such a down to earth guy. He has a house a few towns over from me, and when he's home, and not touring. He's just like anyone else. He goes to the supermarket, town fairs, coffee shops, etc. He's always so kind, friendly, and approachable too. Just an all-around great guy. I've met him a few times. 😃
Love them! And so that’s GREAT to know! 🙂
What state do you live in?
WOW... I had forgotten all about that badass guitar solo ending.... this song wasn't one of their bigger hits but it's a great song... I gotta go back and listen to some of their lesser known stuff
Check out THEIR version of “Remember”(walking in the sand) An older Chil-lites (sp) song. Soooo good! If you do, please get back to me and let me know what you thought. 🙂
This song is part of a trilogy. Amazing, Crazy, and Crying are all part of a series.
J & Amber, you'll love their "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" !!
Aerosmith is Legendary!!!!!
Another great song. Takes me back. Lost my wife to kidney failure back in '96 and I miss her so much. This was one of our songs.
You guys have done a lot of their ballads.... there are a ton of rockin' songs they do that you have to check out - Walk This Way, Livin' On The Edge, Back In The Saddle, Same Old Song And Dance, Toys In The Attic, Mama Kin, Last Child... etc.
my favorite line in this song is "had an angel of mercy to see me thru all my sins" hits me in the heart. new sub here just today and I really love your work. Rock on Rob Squad
Alecia Silverstone and Liv Tyler were best friends and both got a leg up on their acting careers by first starring in Aerosmith videos. They team up together in both Crazy and Crying. Another cool fact is that Liv Tyler did not know Steve Tyler was her father till much much later. Their relationship is a pretty cool story. Liv had a poster of Steven on her wall and kept having this feeling that he was her dad. Eventually she got it out of her mother that he was her father after reading her mother’s diary.
WELCOME TO THE FAM!! 👍😃❣️😃👍
@@teresajarrell452 I like to follow good people & great music. Thank you & enjoy the day.
I saw them live twice back in the 90's in Argentina 🇦🇷.
One of the best bands I've ever seen, and I 've seen a lot o f the best rock bands.
This song, omg this song, floods me with so many great memories growing up in the 90s. When this album came out I got myself a copy and wow, this song is one of my maybe top 5 favorite songs. It has brought me comfort at different points in my life up to this day. I needed this right now. Thank you. Also, it was my hacking song (I thought I was a 10 year old hacker. LoL) keep up the great work.
So glad you guys checked out this song. It’s one of my favourite Aerosmith songs (along with Dream On). It’s a reminder that yes, life can get tough, but it can change on a dime. I always tell people I know that are struggling to hang on for the amazing. It’ll happen when you least expect it. Thanks Amber and Jordan ❤note: typed this comment three times and it’s duplicated my comment each time. Don’t know why. Sorry.
Steven Tyler often gets all of the attention for Aerosmith, but Joe Perry is an absolute god on the guitar. Just look at the display he put on in this song alone. Just "Amazing."
Right on. Joe Perry is the reason I took up guitar
Agreed 150%
Great band. Would love more reactions to their 70s era material like No More No More, Kings and Queens and Mamakin to name a few. Was finally able to see them in 2001. It was a fantastic concert.
Their 70's stuff is best. Especially from their first 4 or 5 albums
No doubt...they gotta check out "Kings and Queens"
Nice !!!I've been waiting patiently for you to play this song !!! I absolutely love this song the lyrics the guitars the vocals
These guys Have been so underrated for years. They deserve way more praise and admiration. Sooooooooo awesome have always been my favorite band
Great reaction guys! ^_^ Love this band!!
Aerosmith was one of the first (if not the first) groups to offer a song to download. In June 1994, they offered for free an unreleased track from the album this song was on and about 10,000 people took them up on it. It took about 90 minutes for the song to download.😂
“Walk this way” with Aerosmith and Run DMC is a MUST! It was the first mainstream cross between rock and hip-hop ❤
Yeeesssss!🔥🔥🔥
Orignal Walk This Way (75) first.
Then they will get the remake
If remake first they have no frame of reference
I think the version with Run DMC would leave out a whole decade of Aerosmith. There were 5 great albums in the '70s that they haven't quite uncovered yet.
And it resurrected Aerosmith from the dust bin. Even though I really, REALLY don't like rap, I have to admit that Run/DMC did save one of my favorite bands
@@magneto7930 Exactky. 70's A-Smith first 💯 why not the original
" Walk This Way" ? Or
" Last Child"
Someday when Aerosmith is gone, the entire world is going to realize they weren't appreciated nearly enough. Their body of work, their breadth of styles, their depth and variety of instrumentation, their sheer joy in creating, and well, Steven effing Tyler. People of Earth, please appreciate that you're on the same planet at the same time with these guys.
I remember when I first heard this song back in the day I was floored bccause I was not expecting the face-melting guitar solo.
I luv this band. They’re early stuff is just kick 🦵 -ass!!! Rock on!!¡
I’ve only seen Aerosmith live in concert once, in 1988, when no less than Guns ‘n Roses opened for them. That was one helluva show, believe me. I was blown away by how HARD Steven Tyler worked on stage to entertain the roughly 20,000 of us. This guy was indefatigable, really talented and just unbelievably dedicated to giving a great show. The whole band was, in fact, and still is today, as I understand, even in their advanced years (I think they’re in their 70s now?).
This is one of my very favorite songs of theirs, so I’m really glad you listened to it and enjoyed it. I figured you would.
This is my absolute favorite Aerosmith song of all of them (and I know almost all of them). The song is deep. 25 years ago when I was 15 I saw them live for the first time and while I grew up with them, it was after that that they became my favorite band of all time. And I 💯 feel the same way as you about not understanding how anyone can not love his voice! You should check out my other favorite last child, it an older one, also mama kin and movin out are really good. Also, livin on the edge is a good one, lyrics are great but they also have great drums and the video version has an extra long guitar solo.
Wife here.., Hey Amber and BJ.One of my favorite vocalists as well.., This is really cool.., You know these guys have been able to change and adapt through the years..,which kept them in the limelight for decades..Big Passion and Stage Presence..(Seen them in concert several 👌 Awesome)!!
One of my favorite bands , this is one of my favorite songs by them 🔥
Silverstone was 17 when filming that video. The first she did with Aerosmith - "Cryin" - led her to the role of Cher in Clueless. The director, Amy Heckerling, saw the video and got interested in using Silverstone from seeing that video :)
You need to do “Crazy” by Aerosmith. It stars Liv Tyler and Alicia Silverstone. In the video Liv copies some of her father’s iconic stage moves. The video is a little racy, but still a lot of fun.
Saw them in concert and they were just as good live as in studio!!
Yeah, one of their Best songs! And Liv Tyler is a great actress. Her reaction to her Father asking her who dubbed her voice in the LOTR movies is hilarious! Hint, nobody dubbed her, it was her voice.
This was the middle video of a trilogy that featured Alicia Silverstone and eventually Liv herself. The videos were Cryin, Amazing and Crazy. Crazy features Liv. These three videos were constants on mtv back when they released.
Yesss! I requested the other 2 in the trilogy as well- hopefully they’ll do them AND do them close together..🤞🏼🤞🏼
Classic 70's A-Smith first.
This is 93. Ok but not even close
Check for yourself

I grew up w/Aerosmith & AC/DC so this has been a go-to song for decades! Just a great message too, I know from family that a lot of the lyrics touch on 12 step recovery program pieces, so this one is very personal to them. Living on the Edge is still my fav from that album though.
Hey, It's almost Christmas again! You should react to a song called Valhalleluiah by Nanowar of Steel, it is by far the most fun Rockin Christmas song of All Time!! At least to me.
Also you can hear Steven Tyler sing backup to Alice Cooper on Alice's song Only My Heart talking, that would be a good one for ya too.
I think this is Joe Perry's finest guitar work. His sound is so recognizable.
I think Joe Perry had his finest moment ever on this track, so so good!
It sounds like slash but then again slash might sounded like him lol
I have recommended this song to just so many people that I have met that were at rock bottom in their lives... and each one got back to me later and thanked me for it. The meaning, the words... they are just so inspirational for one to hear when their times are the toughest. Thanks for the review. It's Amazing.
My favorite Aerosmith song by far!! Yat-da-dow, yat-da-dat-da-dow!
Jaded was a big hit for Aerosmith in 2001. Great song.
I love Steven Tyler, love his voice, and one of my favorites is the collaboration he did with Carlos Santana called "Just Feel Better" which you should definitely check out.
This is my favorite song by my favorite band. Even though i know it’s about recovery for him, it’s a different type of recovery for me. I hope he’s better soon and back onstage
This is my recovery song!!!!!
Aerosmith is simply phenomenal!! My first intro to them was my middle school science teacher playing them during class and low during tests and I loved every minute of it. Now that Jay has made the shocking confession that he doesn't know about Clueless you all have gotta watch that for movie night. Also, Since you loved Don't Wanna Miss a Thing you need to watch Armageddon as well. The movie is fantastic and so is the the soundtrack.
Joe Perry is one of the greats! As a guitar player, I'm baffled how he doesn't come up more often when people are talking about great guitar players.
He's way better na Jimmy page and slash which are both overrated lol
Because his early guitar stuff when Aerosmith was at their best?
His guitar stuff was not.
That is why nobody talks about his guitar work.
Pound for pound, Brad Whitford is the better guitar player.
His solos are crisper and grittier.
He just never had that lead guitar player look that Peery had.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination” was my high school class motto back in 1995. Deuces are Wild just might be my favorite Aerosmith jam
Amber you certainly got that right, he's so damn cool
Gotta do their early stuff, when they were on fire: "Mama Kin" "Train Kept a Rollin'"; "Same Old Song and Dance" "Walk This Way" "Toys in the Attic" "Back in the Saddle" Rats in the Cellar" "Lick and a Promise" "Draw the Line" "Get It Up" "No Surprize"
Always like seeing Aerosmith reactions. Try ‘Last Child’ next.
End always gets me. "From all of us here at Aerosmith, always remember, the light at the end of the tunnel, may be you.
This song saved my life.
He performed this at an addiction recovery center and it was so powerful to see him perform for recovering addicts considering that’s what this song is all about… “That one last shot.. Permanent Vacation “. So many people never got the chance to find that out, but recovery is possible and it is amazing!!
Joe perry absolutely kills on the guitar
Thankfully I have hadn't had a drink in 12years This song even during my addiction always stuck with me as a beacon
I was lucky enough to see them in concert in the late 1980's. they put on one heck of a show!
You need to hit Aerosmith's best period from the '70s. Last Child, Back in the Saddle, Same old Song and Dance, Train Kept a Rolling, Toys in the Attic, Big Ten Inch Record, Draw the Lne, Kings and Queens, I mean that list is endless!
Exactly! 70's 💯
Though I suggest we all rally around 1 song. If you throw too many out there none will get hit. I say " Last Child" what do you think?
“Remember”(walking in the sand) their version is epic!🔥
@@kimberlinibambini1988 I like that one as well. I bought all their albums up to and including Rock in a Hard Place.
@@kimberlinibambini1988 We need to all suggestion just 1.
How about " Last Child".
I say that will properly set the posers making these suggestions on their ass.
They might want to hold off on "Big Ten Inch Record" since it's definitely on the raunchy side.😂
Also, by far their best music they have ever done is this song. Bass lines, guitars, drum fills, singing, and orchestra. Flawless.
His voice is amazing. From "Dream On" and continuing. Joe Perry's guitar never stops being great. "Rocks" and "Toys In The Attic" are my 2 favorite albums. Hope Steven is feeling better.
Amazing and Crazy are my top favorites!! ❤️Aerosmith
You have done so many great Aerosmith songs. You need to check out one of their bangers from the 90's, Livin' on the Edge. You won't be disappointed.
Love the 90's video trilogy of Amazong, Crazy and Cryin'.
Love areosmith.seen them live. AWESOME.
From all of us at Aerosmith to all of you out there wherever you are. Remember, the light at the end of the tunnel may be you.
That last couple minutes is the definition of shredding!
Ahhhhh yes!!! The one, the only, Steven Tyler! I saw them in concert in Greensboro NC in 2000! I kept telling my husband, LOOK!! OMG! ITS STEVEN TYLER!! Lol. They were awesome!
Another Aerosmith rocker? Keep em comin'!!👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
Such a deep band, no fillers on all their albums, their first album was just filled with gems! Speaking of their first album you absolutely must do "One Way Street" bluesy, excellent guitar, harmonica, and vocals!
Love this song. Joe's solo is extraordinary.
Joe Perry is such an amazing guitarist
In a previous reaction, you both talked about how much you love string and horn instruments and how they add to the sound. That just screams for you to do a Metallica & San Francisco Symphony reaction video. I suggest Enter Sandman, or Nothing Else Matters. I haven't checked to see if you've reacted to either of those songs, but it doesn't matter, because the sound of a Heavy Metal band playing with a Symphony is a whole new sound, which by the way, is incredible.
It really is a work of art. AMAZING!!!!
Still a rocking band !! Remember them from my college days in the late 70's. Had their first two albums on vinyl. One of those albums had a track called " One Way Street ". It's a banger from start to finish. Trust me, the Rob Squad family would love to experience it!!
I heard this song when I was in rehab the second time around. It just hit me hard. Now I’m 27 years clean. I still have to remind myself that I’m different than I was back then. That I have come a long way
Also “Hole in my Soul” and “What it takes” are 2 hits of theirs that are sadly under requested.. Would love for y’all to do those too!🤞🏼🤞🏼🎸🔥🔥
Deuces are Wild as well.
They did what it takes already
@@riteousrighthand6144 Love, love that song!
That's the greatest guitar player Joe Perry for ya
Love when you react to Aerosmith! ❤️
I thought of a good reaction you'll both love, especially Jay.
Boston "foreplay/long time" (official audio). You've done a few Boston songs but I think this one is one of their best.
Aerosmith has been my favorite band since 1971.... I have a lot of good memories with this band ! I met them several times, have great pics with the band.... so many stories !!! I kissed Steven dead on the mouth during Joe's guitar solo in Monkey on my Back in Atlanta..it was AMAZING LOL... here's to my former Toxic Twins and as my little boy said back in the 90's them "nuther guys", hope Steven is doing OK, I know they have cancelled all shows and I am super worried....and remember, the light at the end of the tunnel may be you...goodnight!
Yay for Stephen and his daughter ❤❤❤can’t wait for tomorrow LOTR!
I had the privilege of growing up with Aerosmith, and watched their stuff from the 80s through the 90s , their greatest hits album was a must have for every road-trip. With that being said I would love for you react to Post Modern jukebox- Dream On featuring Morgan James. It is an homage to Aerosmith and she honors them completely!!
Hoping and praying that he recovers well from his current illness. Top 5 singer ever.
