Both of these are Gamer Style Condenser USB microphones. They are built from the same design and shell with the newer S model having RGB lighting, upgraded capabilities for studio monitoring, a grey shock mount cable to match all setups, and a USB C cable instead of a micro USB.

I'm looking to buy one today and the only problem I can see with the Quadcast vs S is that the original you can't dim the brightness of the red and I've seen a few reviews saying if you prefer a darker vibe/not so bright then not being able to adjust the brightness on the original is a pain if you feel like it's beaming into your eye.
So for that reason I think I will go for the S version so I can dim the brightness on a set colour or even turn it off at times.
Yeah that's definitely an issue with the original and a good reason to go for the S. Plus the rgb options are just fun to have. It's still on sale too amzn.to/3Q7albT

I was looking up the difference between the Hyper X Quadcast S and the normal Quadcast and then i just saw your old video and now i know that the difference between the Hyper X Quadcast S and the normal Quadcast is just RGB lighting,
RGB, USB C instead of Micro, the shock mount cord is grey instead of red, and yeah that's all of it lol

Fun story: my buddy Nathan is a mechanic and a guy in his shop left a can of orange spray paint in his truck on a 110 degree day, the can exploded and coated the entire interior PERFECTLY. Once he chipped it all off the windows he actually had a pretty cool orange dashboard

hey, i have the Hyper X Quadcast for a few months now. but i can't figure out the setting to not pick up background noise and there is a reverb on it which i don't know how to change it. some people mentioned that you can ajust it in obs but outside of obs what program do you need to fix this? Sound quality is the same. You're buying it for the looks only. If sound is all you care get the cheaper Quadcast. The S just adds RGB lighting, some app functionality, and uses USB c instead of micro but that hardly matters since it includes it's own cable.

Nope, because it is USB it gets the power it needs directly through that. It's a big reason people pick USB mics, they're just simpler.

Hi Mark! This is the arm I use and it's very stable but also budget friendly: amzn.to/3BHvlOq
You can get one with the spring built in for a cleaner look for about the same price: amzn.to/3zLjAWi I haven't tested this one personally but most budget mic arms are gonna work great.
As far as which mic the Rode NT is a much higher quality mic and build. The only reasons anyone might choose the S over it is the RGB lighting, the gamer look, or it does have multiple modes in case you ever need an omnidirectional mic (Most people don't) where the Rode only has a single cardioid pattern making it a great single person mic.
If you did decide to get the Quadcast KEEP THE BOX, more importantly there's an adapter in the box that is how you put it on a scissor arm. I can't tell you how many people have contacted me saying they'd thrown it away... whoopsie. Luckily HyperX has always sent them a free replacement when I referred them to their customer service.

@@markteekens266 the Rode is still gonna be better. The blue yeti is basically identical to the HyperX. HyperX did that on purpose lol. A lot of people will say the yeti is better just because it's more popular and versatile but for clear voice audio the Rode would be my pick. If you'll also maybe record music or a group of people blue yeti might be nice for the options down the road though. If you can find a great deal on the yeti that also could tip the scales because I've seen them as cheap as $100
Regular Quadcast for 80€ should I? Can the lights be turned completely off from the software? 🤔
The original Quadcast didn't have lights that could be turned off at all. That's a good deal though for an original and I'd say it's worth it. The light stays on because it is your mute indicator. On the newer S model you can go in the software and just turn the brightness down to 0, although it'll be harder to know when it's muted.

I got the Quad Cast S this past week. I figured out how to use it on Twitch while streaming on my PS5. It cost me around $160.00 and I got an extra pop filter for it.
Where did you find the Extra Pop filter ?
I just found QuadCast on sale for 55$ then i found that there's a variand with RGB for 120$. This review helped me to see that is not worth the upgrade!

Well its 30 quid difference for me and I litterly just thought: “well it looks less proffesional on video calls so good I can just set it to 1 collor”.
So in short: for me I just thought the quadcast had better sound but now I know that this isnt the case I am 100% getting the quadcast, I even preffer the look so no reason so spend more

I've been using HyperX mics for 3 years now and haven't had any issues. They seem to be quality but if you're really rough I might get something more durable as I've seen some people cave in the mess cage but hitting it really hard or stepping on it. Idk how that happens but people are rough

@@Po7ent I've found it's clean as long as you don't mess with too many filters. When I've had the filters on it it's sounded a little underwater before. I'm sure if you have the filters tuned right that's not the case though.

@@NipponKiwi haha I've tried the yeti and this. Similar sounds. I think the hyper x is a bit more gamer and user friendly personally. Tap to mute, big volume knob, it's all just simpler and prettier too I think. Yeti is seen as a bit more professional though

Apart from lightning which color is more better black or white?
I like the new white edition but the black one shows the colors better on camera. The white tends to reflect too much light and get in the way.
If I connect the Hyperx Quadcast S via a type-c to type-c adapter to a MacBook, will it work?
I don't have a MacBook to test sadly but HyperX lists mac's as compatible so it should work

The Shure is definitely the more professional high quality microphone. The Quadcast is a decent mic but it's more of a cool gamer style mic.

I know im late but this upset me lol, for some reason for me (in the uk) the hyperx quadcast was £95 when i bought it and the quadcast S was £160. Now they seem to be only £10 apart ;-;

Yes, but because it goes on sale quite often now making it worth more. I'd watch for a sale.
BUYER BEWARE: Quadcast S will not allow your PC to stay in sleep mode. Your PC will immediately wake if you put it on sleep mode while microphone is plugged in. You are forced to unplug the mic before putting to sleep, or else PC will just wake back up.
I had the S for a year or more and never had this issue. Switched to a new PC and still none... Just got the white quàdcast S and now I can't get my PC to stay asleep ever!!! I even tried exchanging it and same issue. 🤦

I don't have an Xbox to test but it doesn't look like USB mics are plug n play like they are on PlayStation ☹️ I could be wrong but searching I found only workarounds to make it happen. Also site says it works on PC, PS4 or Mac

It seems that way with the same mic but the crazy thing was due to the pandemic they were both selling for $100s more due to scalpers. It's amazing what some people will pay for these. If it hadn't been for my discount I got I still wouldn't own this mic lol

Realistically yes. It also has the USB c port instead of micrl and some functionality with the lights app like being able to turn the light off while recording but really it's an RGB version.

Where speak test ?
During the talking after the 3 minute mark it's switching back and forth but the mics are the exact same internals so they sound the same. It's really down to looks for the difference.

One other thing I forgot to mention, with the new one you can turn the brightness to ZERO if you need it for something professional. The original mic you can't turn the light off unless it's muted.

So many people don't need it and throw it away lol
