My sister and I were there in Sept. 2019. I had visited Winchcombe on a previous visit but we visited, Chipping Campden, Broadway, Snowshill, & spent 5 days in Moreton in Marsh ! We had a fabulous visit and look forward to going again . Love your videos !
My wife and I took our honeymoon on a bicycling tour through the Cotswolds 1978. We stayed in Stow in the Wold And cursed the hill on our return each afternoon. Many places you visited were on our routes. Thank you.
@@saud_ss44 Quite how criticising the Arab nation for eating as much of Britain as their wealth will allow is deemed racist I really don't know. If someone says Tesco is eating Britain are they Supermarketist? Ludicrous remarks
This is how documentaries should still be made on TV - excellent research - perfectly spoken diction - well written script in a quality of English now fast disappearing. I loved every part of this film. So relaxing and film shooting style gives a really good sense of "place" and presence. Thank you for producing it all so well with so much historical info we'd never have known.
Watching & listening to you talk us through these charming villages and Towns, compares to sitting before a blazing log fire in a quite comfortablly snug Cotswald country pub, with either a fine glass of red wine or a tankard of good ale in hand. It was So Relaxing that I forgot that I should have been getting on with work !
Chipping Campden. I have an uncle who is still living independently there at 92 along with many assorted relatives. One of his sons is an avid Morris dancer and his grandson an accomplished folk musician. I remember holidaying there from my childhood. Now I live in upstate NY - not far from Woodstock. This is a lovely series; so interesting and so gratifying to watch. I just discovered it. Thank you.
What a coincidence, I just found an ancestor that lived in Chipping Campden, Richard Hartwell born 1600, died in 1670, a ripe age for that period! I hope to visit England some day and the Cotswolds will be on my list of places to visit! Lovely!
Nicely filmed in a gentle non-fussy style with excellent laid-back commentary which makes locations like Winchcombe & Hailes Abbey very interesting, especially as I live only 10 miles away in South Cheltenham. So carry on with your good work promoting the beautiful Cotswolds.
I like this so much. It feels like I've sat in a history lecture at Magdalen College, Oxford for tuition costs of an internet connection. A win-win by all account.
The use of the drone is absolutely brilliant, a view of the Cotswolds that, unless you can fly, most of us mere mortals will never get to see and enjoy.
I live in Michigan in the states, and it's amazing how many building and streets are named after those towns in England, and the architecture is very similar in older Detroit constructions and older cities and towns radiating out from it. I live on a little street called "Cheltenham." I had a friend in grade school who lived in a tudor mansion in Grosse Pointe Farms that supposedly used the blueprint of a manor in England. It was remarkable, very authentic inside. Love our familiar connections.
Say, I also lived in Grosse Pointe in the late 1950s and now that you mention it, the house I lived in looked quite similar to the ones in the Cotswolds.
I'm putting together a family trip to the UK in August and wondered about a drive through the Cotswolds. Your videos have been a great help in my planning. Thank you for doing them.
Another wonderful visit to the Cotswolds! I am working my way through every one of them in sequence and am thinking what is going to happen when I've seen the last one? Not going to think of that at the moment..... Love your little dog Widget, he is so much an important presence of this series!
LOVE your videos. You speak and write so well, keeping one's full attention I just found you and am thoroughly enjoying your episodes as well as jaunty outfits.:D
Very professionally produced Robin. I have visited all the places you mention but it is nice to hear your knowledgeable commentary. Eddie 🐶 sends Widget his regards.
Another fascinating and informative video with a professional quality touch. Nice to see Stow-on the Wold again, and the Porch House pub, with it`s significant history. Very well done.

Belíssima série. Muito linda essa região, espero poder conhecer um dia. Beautiful series. This region is very beautiful, I hope, I can visit one day. ♡from Brazil 🇧🇷! Oct 2020.
Robin, I wonder if you might consider doing a little exploration of The Mendips - no one ever seems to go there, could be worth a little explore from Cheddar, Weston Super Mare to Chew Magna, maybe even down to Bath? Safe travels... My Kelpie sends wags to Widget (great name for a pup!)
Hi we are going to chipping camden next month June. We have never visited the cotswolds before so really looking forward to going after all restrictions are lifted.
Robin, as I have stated before, my family that sailed from Bristol to Plymouth Massachusetts in the 1600’s we owned a plantation in Virginia where we grew tobacco and sold it back to England.
I’m from Broadway, everyone I knew called it Guyting Power (Guiting Power). And he refers to Broadway as a town, it was a village and a fairly small one when I grew up there. I know it’s grown, but still. Best wishes
Very Relaxing - I wonder if you couldn't visit a few more locals & providores, adds a lot of depth - perhaps you could get the keys, sometimes (!) looking at the local produce & meeting the artisans can be great fun & makes it very enticing to the visitor or to those who can never visit. I believe, if memory serves, Morton in Marsh had the best maker of chocolate éclairs in all England (back in the midst of the last fuel crisis...) wonder if the village is so blessed in the midst of this debacle? Safe travels, do appreciate it.
Hi. I live in Mickleton, the northernmost village in the Cotswolds (3 miles from Campden - although CC is our postal town). Thsnks for your videos - always something to learn about the area. Is it worth you doing a piece on the last "battle"on English soil that took place between 2 private armies in July 1851?
The town of snow hill with its beautiful cottages and Hamlet are quit scenic. The church is very beautiful,The settlement of burford and snohill and Morgan was begin by the Roman s.up untill now these towns were the refuge of William Morris and other iteneries,,not at all every age never overlooked it,but the beautiful and scenic panorama tempted anyone whoever saw it,why roylist retreted to mortan and why parliamentarian also vied to come over to mortan,it's a question and the answer might have been ,it's meadow green hills, churches in the fold of mountain s,and heartrending towns
When I come to the city is it possible have a guide that shows me this wonderful places? Your descriptions are very interesting and know they personal is my plan.
Fastantic videos Robin and enjoyed a week at Moreton on the marsh last year from London. Your videos remind me of the TV series by Alec Clifton Taylor which I watched as a very young lad. Always loved exporing the UK. Anything further afield planned ? love bits of Warwickshire and Somerset.
Why on earth did you do your video in the depths of winter? It would look even more beautiful in spring and summer weather. I live nearby in Cheltenham.
I wondered why you didn't go into Porch House or St. James Church in Chipping Camden - both sites worth peering into the interior of; what is your favorite "wold" of all your travels.
I love the videos and the Cotwolds, but I don't think by the "early 1800s" the "authorities" in England still had tobacco plantations in Virginia! We had declared independence by then!
Thanks for your suggestion but I am afraid we try and avoid recommendations of that kind. We try not to be beholden to anyone. Tripadvisor will, I am sure, have lots of information. Many thanks for watching. Robin
Yes indeed Sylvia. Ross was one of the earliest people to use the drone as a film tool and we are very attached to it. So far he has only dropped it once and then with no serious consequences. It just ended up in a bush. I hope you enjoy the amazing views of the Cotswolds from above. Keep well, Robin
I enjoy your trvavalogs so much, but may I suggest that you might occasionally enter somewhere other than a church or speak to a local, or at least go a bit deeper? There’s a somewhat boring sameness to every place you visit. I’m sure your producer and videographer could handle the challenge. Come on and expand a little!
Very professionally produced Robin. I have visited all the places you mention but it is nice to hear your knowledgeable commentary. Eddie 🐶 sends Widget his regards.

This is the only style of filming I like. Totally agree with you!
The presenter is a character- calm and non hysteric 😂 with a sense for artistic observation
Fantastic information beautiful filming and a pleasant voice telling the story.

I love this series of videos. The commentary is great and the little dog is a star!
I like the balance the dog brings to these narratives.

I’d love to see more Chipping Campden videos!
Thankyou, my daughter and I, love your series x just wonderful, very informative, we love learning about our past, thankyou.
The shots riding in car were excellent- wud love to see more driving down those winding roads

Thank you so much for your videos!!!
Chipping Campden is my old home town, and I was christened in St James Church..its still home even though I’ve lived in Australia for 50+ years.
Beautiful and informative, excellent Thank you
A great sense of life here. Tha's wonderful!
Thank you for another interesting episode.

I'll say this, the Cotswolds certainly has some of the best place names on earth.

Wonderful sceneries and video.
Where are we ? All creatures great and small (the series I adored as a child) absolutely stunning ! Spilling history lessons on the side 🤠
Throughly enjoying your chanel...Thank you so much
Hi we are going to chipping camden next month June. We have never visited the cotswolds before so really looking forward to going after all restrictions are lifted.
Thank you for making these, I even just took a run to Yarnton Manor from Episode 1 after being inspired by this show. (it was only 22 minutes away!)
I'm taking notes -- hope to go to the Cotswolds next year. Love these videos!
I just subscribed your channel sir!! really love the way you guide us through this virtual tour ☺️☺️
Robin, as I have stated before, my family that sailed from Bristol to Plymouth Massachusetts in the 1600’s we owned a plantation in Virginia where we grew tobacco and sold it back to England.
Robin's voice purrs like a leopard much like the voice of Claude Rains.

I love how the place like peaceful and quiet , not much car driving and high building , wish I could born here and end my life to here
For me its the garlands of Wisteria, they are exactly the same as they were in the Eighties.
Bellooo 👍
I've always had a fantasy, that as an American, I've just wanted to disappear into one of these kind of villages. They're so quaint. Great video!! ❤
11:30 Bridget Jones's Diary parents' house location! ❤

sublime

Great
or even Moreton in Marsh after watching the end of the video !
I supposed to visit England this year but I can't due to the pandemic. I will come there in 2024.
Nice.
Forgive me but I thought the correct description is a Convent not a nunnery? Is there such a word?
Sorry to intrude, but are you following the format of Michael Portillo when venturing on your exploits?
8.58: "....estimable citizens enough according to their lights would...". What does "lights" mean here?
Sorry to be a pedant but Guiting Power is pronounced Giting ....like kiting
Yes. It is!
The video maded above the earth is a drone, isn't it!
Really good video but Chipping Campden is a town (I live there and we’re pretty fussy about that 😂)
I find it very annoying that when you are about to enter an interesting building you cut away to another scene.
I enjoy your trvavalogs so much, but may I suggest that you might occasionally enter somewhere other than a church or speak to a local, or at least go a bit deeper?
