    Could you please do a quick video on this in the daylight?
    I accidentally dislodged one of my rear brake pads (the one closer to the wheel) and it was free hanging by the hinge. In trying to figure out how to get it to stay up I accidentally pulled the two portions of the brake apart AND dislodged the retaining spring... Now I'm trying to figure out how to put the thing back together. I'm going to use this video as a reference, but it's difficult due to the lighting.
    Or if you find 5 minutes could you shoot me a quick reply on how that retaining spring fits back in place AND how the brake pads are connected on the side opposite the hinge?
    You da best!

    Your videos are very informational was wondering if you had a video showing how to remove the ECU on the 13 636?

      No.
      In theory, it`s held by 2 screws and 2 sockets plug into it. Right under the rider seat, check out ua-cam.com/video/Qp3KqEpeoqU/v-deo.html

    I just removed my entire back wheel to get a tire changed. I got the wheel and everything back on, but the only problem is I have absolutely no brakes in the back now. The piston doesn't seem to be moving at all and I did take off the brake hose going to the caliper. Some brake fluid leaked out so is the fluid maybe low and/or have air in the system that needs to be bled?

      Nothing`s wrong, just the lines need bleeding. Needs a vacuum pump to get fluid moving through the ABS pump. Here is my take on a gravity-bled system (pedal pressure method): ua-cam.com/video/5SuOATzop4o/v-deo.html Of course Ninja parts are different, but same procedure. Might as well do a brake fluid flush, check & clean master cylinder: ua-cam.com/video/nODrR-66Kyk/v-deo.html

      I got it figured out. Just had to bleed the brakes like you said. Had to change the fluid anyways, it was quite yellow. So in a way it was a good thing that this happened. Bike is an '08 and has never had it changed.

    What size bolt is that one that has the rubber boot on it to remove the rear brake caliber?

    • @theoverengineer
      @theoverengineer  6 років тому

      It`s listed as pin, because there are only 5 turns of thread on it, Kawi has part number (92043A) not actual size. Head made to fit 6 mm Allan.

      So what size wrench did you use to get it loose is the question I should have ask. Would like to change my brake pads in the future myself.

    when changing brake pads do i have to do anything different, like is there anything to watch out for since my 2013 zx6r is abs?

    • @theoverengineer
      @theoverengineer  6 років тому +1

      Just so I understand fully, the question relates to any differences between the 2013 ZX-6R ABS featured in the video and the 2013 ZX-6R ABS you have.
      Looks like a retarded question but identical badge bikes are different in different markets around the globe. So the question is good, but I haven`t worked in any other markets outside North American, CA models can still be different. So UK, US, CA or AUS bike are different in wiring diagrams and some other things. I think you need to give it a try, see for yourself if small differences matter much during a brake job. Let us know what you find.
      Thanks for watching.
