I think that the Tek suit should have started out damaged, so it loses its functionality but still provides some armour and protection. You should be able to repair it gradually with a set of missions I think.
Yeah the tek suit just feels a bit weird.
I'm tempted to use my own tek suit for the Rockwell fight so I can have armor.
That would actually be interesting, I think you should at least have to charge it, it wouldn't be particularly difficult on this map, but it would at least be something. What would be even better would be if it wasn't tek armor at all, replace the completely OP features with features that are just really useful instead, tek armor is end game for a reason

Gosh, imagine you’re out getting meat for your baby reaper, and on your way back you see a maewing jump into your base and jump out with something in one of its baskets
I think the starter armor should have at least been locked behind levels, OR “damaged” in the intro cutscene, so that maybe you only start with the “no fall damaged” from the boots, but as you complete missions AND/OR level up, HLN-A fixes it up for you, and by this I mean just unlocking more functions, not adding more armor rating.
That would be soo much beter then, here have a tek suit :)
@@greenquartz8554 but the map is really big, without a Teka hit players would probably feel like it's too big...
The egg incubator is probably the best thing added to the game. It lets you know what the stats are, what gender it is, what colors it has, and even if it has any mutations. The issue of not being able to set the temp for each slot is fixed by just having several incubators. They are not hard to build at all.
As for the starter armor. It's the last expansion. I mean wth is the problem with it? If you are playing gen 2, you should probably have played all the other maps before now. Most people should already have tek gear by this point, it doesn't "break the game" it's literally just a VERY weak version of the tek suit. That's it.
I enjoyed this. I mostly agreed with your assessments, but the main value was as a good review of all the new stuff.

I actually exported the starter armor to extinction and took it out using a new toon. The new toon can't use it without the standard Tek armour tekgrams.
I'd say there's no reason to be afraid for other maps for now.

The federation tek armour is pretty much a worse version of regular tek armour on other maps. You can't use it without the tek armour engrams and it consumes element on non-gen 2 maps. It's only benefit is it has no durability.
And u can fly faster than most fliers, ur punch does like 100 dmg can break stone structures from just spawning
@@olia611 I meant on non-genesis 2 maps. On non-genesis 2 maps, regular tek armour can do all that too, only it has a lot more armour. Reading an comprehension are your friends.

I think the striders are really broken you can set them up to a dedicated storage take it to space and have infinite metal but I can see your points

I think the plant R was a big disappointment because everyone thought it was going to be like a fighter plant

I think they still don't allow you to transfer normal tech gear into other maps so I don't think this will leak into other maps.
I would say that Genesis part 2 is the best DLC... For PVE: I think wildcard forgot about PvP when releasing extinction, as the enemies become too big of a threat to do normal combat. Imo, Wildcard had forgotten about PVP meta completely.

I feel like the pvp in this game was dead a long time ago. The entire concept is broken. One group of people that gets everything first basically runs a server now. Cool. That's boring.

The R dinos are just reskins, but that's really all I was looking for in the R variant, I'm always happy to get new crazy looking versions of my favorite creatures.
While we're talking about R creatures, they absolutely needed to add R variants to some of the water dinos, there's this huge cool valguero style underwater section, but every single person I've seen explore it that even realized it exists is like "Oh cool, anyway" and then they leave. We need a better reason to go down there

They meeded an X-Tuso in Gen 1 and they missed the second chance to add the R-Tuso skin it deserved

Yes, the gen2 starting suit has all the abilities of a regular tek suit

This video was the most helpful video of all the Genesis Part 2 series. Seeing the fast paced guides is nice, but getting an overview for the expansion was amazing. Certainly S tier for me!
I get that this was your opinion man but how is canoe s tier mutagen is A and egg inc is B lol I'd also put ammo box and mannequin higher and the shadowmane and maewing lower. The maewing's usefulness is very niche, and the Shadowmane is dope but it is a ground tame in a mostly flight-focused map. They would be much more valuable in a no flight map like Gen 1 or Ab.

That's fair. But when it is a reskin with no new function I think that is a greater sin. The maewing might just be a rock drake with a new skin but it does so many different things that I personally can look past it in its case.

That is just factually incorrect, different skeletons/models, and functionality from things like the stryder for instance

The only ones I truly feel are reskins are the voidwyrm and astrodelphis. The voidwyrm is just a wyvern while the delphis is pretty much a trope with added functionality. Other than that, I feel that ark has had so much creatures that they've pretty much used all conventional body plans and certain functions (like gliding) so it was inevitable that something like this would've happened. I personally am not disappointed with the content we got imo.
Maewing is more broken than noglins for pvp and pve

I think the voidwyrm is cool but for a paid dlc i feel disappointed because all it is really is jus a reskin wyvern
Kinda but not really. I mean it's breath and utility are completely different. A normal wyvern is useless as hell. The void wyrm can actually be used to destroy stuff with.

I am 100% with you on the Starter Armor. It was AWESOME for about 15 minutes, but then the drive to play just drains away as you're flying, floating in space, and diving down to the bottom of the sea. It kills hours of gameplay and makes taming some dinos meaningless.
Gen 2 would be impossible to start on without the armor though, the green zone is huge and very vertical the rockwell zone is far too dangerous for a bob to walk thru on foot and good luck getting anywhere in space without either the armor or a tame. I just think they could have implemented it better, maybe having a few easy starter missions to unlock the suits abilities.
@@insertnamehere7679 It would of been really hard to have the suits abilities offline until you do a few missions "Oh no your tek federation suit is malfunctioning, better do these missions to repair them" Its federation armor, it wont be breaking

@@insertnamehere7679 Its a terran federation tek suit, you literally put it on at the end of gen 1 and hlna even says its working in gen 2 (Your armor kept you mostly in one piece) so it'd be stupid to remove the abilities until you reach a specific goal or do missions.
