The gift of photography is available for all and I think it doesn't matter what the skill level is to enjoy creating. My father told me that I don't have any God given gifts. But then he ended up buying me a camera. Now I can't imagine my life without photography. It's just a matter of finding the gifts. It's also a passion to be shared and I really enjoy watching your videos of nature photography.
Kim, I have been following your beautiful photography for a couple of years now. I very much enjoyed this video. I agree with you that photography is a real GIFT. It allows one to get into nature & become absorbed into nature's beauty, fully allowing one to explore all the facets of the hidden beauty of the chosen subject. Nature photographers are gifted with the art of observation & focus. Nature Photographers see things that other "non gifted" people totally miss. I believe that, because of the natural "child-like" curiosity of the nature photographer, He/She is able to seek out some of the "hidden gems" that nature holds, just waiting there to be revealed to anyone who just LOOKS. Thanks to other Nature Photographers like you & others, those who are not gifted with this talent to "see", are thus able to enjoy what we see....Thank you to you & any other nature photographers who choose to share what they see.
Hi Kim, it’s incredible when we decided to capture a macro image, the more I take my camera out the more it focus the mind to capture a moment in time, can’t believe I’ve been keen in photography since 1981 & come along way in my own journey & the excitement of choosing the camera & lenses for a specific image or theme. Great vlog again Kim.
It is amazing how that photography opens our eyes to "see" the world that we look at every day in a way that seems to unlock secrets unseen by most. It's almost like something from a Sci-fi movie. People ask me often, "How did you spot that?" or "How did you even see that?"... I think that it's just a consciousness that awakens that causes us to pay attention to details. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and images. It's great to see and hear from you again. It looks like you are getting along well.
I'm with you 100% regarding the greatest gift photography gives. I almost feel bad for those who are blind to all the visuals out there in nature. And I'm not even that good at seeing things yet, although I know I'm getting better each time I go out.
Kim, your newest video is absolutely fantastic! Your imagination is truly limitless, and the visuals are just otherworldly. Your message is so relevant for today's world where we all need more joy and happiness. I can't wait to get my hands on your book! 😊
Yes, the world is filled with awesome sights and beautiful things. Just slow your world down, walk, look and enjoy. Photography has been a part of my whole life, and yes, it helped bring me back from one of the darkest places I've ever been. I have flourished with my camera and attitude. Thanks to people like you, who help me see it. ❤ Much love and health to you
This is so lovely to hear, Mark! It's wonderful that photography has brought you so much joy and helped you through the challenging times. Long may your love for it continue ☺️🙏
lately i have bee practicing making blurry photos of colorful flowers and have been enjoying the creative beauty i have been making. i have been experimenting with different shooting techneaks like squinting my eyes for better composition and photo framing.
I agree with you 100%, Kim. The gift of being able to see all that is around me, and of actually becoming more observant, is the greatest gift photography has given me also. Your flower photography is simply beautiful - the colours, the creative blur, and the compositions you chose are just stunning. Thank you.
Brava! Le tue foto sono molto belle, ma mi piace soprattutto il tuo approccio nel vedere le espressioni e le particolarità della natura come una simbiosi della bellezza e della fantasia che sta dentro la tua mente.
Totally agree. I didn’t know butterflies had furry bodies and cute faces and some moths are even fluffier - and those are two of the gifts photography has given me - in fact even spiders can be beautiful and plants are amazing.
Isn't it amazing! I, too, am often blown away by how bugs and insects look through a macro lens. They are fascinating creatures! Great to hear you've found much joy in engaging with them this way
❤❤❤ - So Gorgeous & So Colorful. Photography greatly enriches my life too, ever since I was only about 12. I am going to watch this video twice just to look at the beautiful images you captured again, which is rare for me to do more than once since I am so busy. Thank you for sharing your talent. Lynda
What such beauty you created in your photos, definitely a wow factor. Lovely to have your presence once again. Encouraging everyone to get into nature and get a dose of mindfulness. Thanks for sharing Kim.
Hi Kim, it's been a while since I have had a chance to watch your videos. Your latest one again had me smiling all the way through it as before. Your use of the DOF to almost create a collage of soft petals to framing the part of flower you focused on was beautiful. Thank you for your inspiration
I agree wholeheartedly with your statement. My wife is going thru dialysis, with many medications needed each day. When this first was diagnosed,I was not only fearing the worst; but overwhelmed with it all. With the help of a home nurse and good doctors; and in particular photography I found my way. The seeking of a beautiful morning sunrise, dew on flowers and birds singing have raised my spirits and given me the joy I needed. Thank you for your many videos and photographic beauty you share
It's lovely to hear how photography has helped you calm your mind and connect with the world following your wife's diagnosis. There certainly is a lot involved with dialysis. May photography continue to offer you comfort and strength ☺️🙏
Exactly where to focus with such a narrow plane is always the question. I always ask myself what is drawing me to this flower? Well done video editing too Kim. 100% on opening your eyes. Me too for sure.
Thank you, Robert. It certainly can be a challenge. I usually focus on the centre of the flower or the tip of the petals, and sometimes I get creative and let the camera decide for me. Always a fun experience ☺️🙏
I just found your channel tonight and really enjoyed your photography and the encouragement to get outside and take photos especially during difficult times in our lives. I too have looked at photography as a huge blessing in my life the past 15 years after an unexpected medical issue left me unable to do life like I once did. Thank you so much for creating this wonderful video with beautiful images and words of encouragement. God Bless You!
Thank you very much! It's lovely to hear photography has helped you work through your health changes. It's lovely to have you here. Thank you for watching ☺️🙏
Lovely Kim - I like those images that emerged as time with the flowers went on for you. Dreamy, ethereal feel to them. Easily lost in time and their story. Made me smile.
Been following you for a while and recently started listening to your Photographic Connections podcast from the very beginning! I really love how tuned in you are to the “WHY” - ex: why is the framing of this photo so special?; why did this little bug on a flower petal intrigue me? It lends a depth to photography when you can articulate that innate connection that draws you to an image or a location. Anyway, I say this all to commend your great work and cheer you on as you continue down this path of exploration!
Hi Kim, such a lovely video; the world of the small can often be missed but a pause and a look can reveal a whole new beauty that touches the heart. From dandelions gone to sead, to the thin strands of a spider's web, to the miniature world of mosses, to a single ripple on a pool of water. My mental health and physical health are two ends of a swing, and of course, the nadir. My photography is a life saver for me and I feel peace and forget time and drift when I have my camera in my hand in a place that I love to be - in the country or by the sea, or in wild weather and dramatic skies. It is beautiful and I would never exchange it for anything; I think it has always been part of me, but the time wasn't right; I feel it is right now.
Very good video Kim and great pictures. Glad you are back on UA-cam and you are right the things you see when you have a camera in hand is amazing that's why I never put mine down thanks for all the videos you share with all of us , and most importantly you're Time..
Wonderful images Kim! Really bright and vibrant! This is another one of your videos that I found myself nodding in agreement with. I've always had a love of nature, but since taking up photography it has heightened my awareness even more of the beauty that surrounds us.
Thank you for all your encouragement 🙏 and wonderful words it is a breath of fresh air .... I enjoyed your work , you are correct it opens your eyes and time stands still ...❤
Good morning Kim, great to see you and another great video. I have learned every shot we take or moment we have has meaning. This earth and all it contains has beauty, so many overlook all of it. Kim, you have given me peace and helped me in photography, I have struggled throughout the years, but photography has given me the opportunity, to capture a moment in time, that will never be seen or created again by me or anyone else. Keep up the great work, you are loved by many, so hopefully you can post when you can. It great also to see you progressing with your first book, and all your other projects. Stay well, have a blessed future.

Wonderful photos of the flowers. Sometimes we need to just pause and look around and enjoy the simple things. I enjoy checking out what nature has to offer right in my back field, even if I leave camera in the house. Have been following your channel for several years, and definitely enjoy your more wholistic and mindful approach to photography and not getting caught up in making videos using the same formula many landscape photographers do on youtube such as walking away from the camera, I know I would prefer to see the path moving forward not the backside of the photographer with big backpack!
