Its more than images for me. Its about appreciating the wonders of nature. Getting out and observing , smelling, touching, feeling that invigorates the senses.
This was like a four day local safari, with wildlife, nature, creative experimenting and ever changing light and circumstances. Thanks for taking us along, Kim.
Can’t wait to see you and Courtney Victoria. Love her work. I first thought she was to hard on herself until I watched a lot of her videos and saw that she is looking for her own spirit in her pictures. I think that’s why she loves water, waterfalls, mist, and fog so much. Looking for that spirit. I think that’s why I enjoy her pictures so much she has such a sweet soul.
What a great idea Kim - to take four days in a row, no matter what the weather and conditions are like. And somewhere local. The sky on day 3 though. Wow, wow, wow . . . . .
Thanks Denise! I so enjoyed this! Considering doing more like this maybe going to the local park, woodland or beach. It's such a great way to start the day too
I very much enjoyed this episode. Day 3 led to beautiful images. As you said, every day is different embrace them; every moment in the day is ours to enjoy.
Agree... local ponds and lakes are the best... every time I go, I learn something new, see a little more of their intimate lives and interactions. Lovely music, by the way ❤
Thank You Kim for your kind reply! By the way, I really enjoyed the music within this video. Especially on day 3 around 9:18 minutes into the video. Can I get any information on that soundtrack? I would love to enjoy it during peaceful moments. Thanks Again!
Of all "photography" videos that I watch, I find myself enjoying YOURS the most. Your level of talent far exceeds mine, but your inspiration inspires me almost daily. Yes, all I need do is just "get out there!" Thank you, Kim.
You made some serious lemonade on Day 2! Slowing down to take in our surroundings is so important. I love the simplicity of your images on day one. Thanks again!
Thank you, thank you for making the video - it’s beautifully done ! We’re always looking for that great beautiful scene, that unforgettable experience ….. you showed that ‘beauty’ has always been around us - we just need to look….with our hearts…
What a magical 4 day adventure Kim. You had great but totally different conditions each day. I thought the image's from each day were great. I look forward to another little series like that, perhaps early evening for sunset, now there's food for thought.
Thank you Tim! I am certainly considering do more like this. I really enjoyed it. May try different locations like my local river, beach or woodland. It's a good way to start the day
Very well done Kim!!!! This was a true inspiration for me!!! So Thank You!!! I've got no excuses for not getting off my lazy "Fanny" and in the morning take at least 1 image!!!!!
I enjoyed watching your video a lot. I've been out at a local pond yesterday myself. It wasn't a great sunrise but it's always great to be outside. And if you go out without too many expectations and an open mind you always find something that inspires you.
I go to the river most mornings Kim and do exactly what you have been doing in my own village here on the Shannon river. Through the seasons and on good days and bad, I always come home feeling calmer and more at peace.
Lovely idea and some beautiful pictures from the challenge. I have a local area that I visit every week and it is great but one thing it lacks is water. As you said in the video the water is a core aspect of your location. Thanks for sharing this experiment.
That’s what I love about photographing nature. You just never know what is going to present itself at that moment. I spend most of my time in the back yard (woods) and get plenty of interesting things. A mile or two in any direction I get ocean and all its creatures as well. Great video!
Beautiful work and shots Kim, day three and the gold water was amazing. The shots of the dippers are amazing. thank you so much Kim, for another start to my sunday. Stay safe stay well, and have a blessed week.
That was so inspiring Kim. You don't have to go too far to find beautiful opportunities. The ducks and dippers really made me smile. Was that a fish jumping behind you at 21.26 ...so cool! ❤
What a great idea Kim. I go to my local area quite often but haven't tried going multiple times a week at the same time. Given me something to think about. Great images, loved the 2 leaves with the log but my favorite's were of the dippers. Such cool little birds. I don't think we have them where I live. Thanks for taking us along with you. Looking forward to listening to the podcast with Courtney Victoria.
I thank you always for your inspiration. I am lucky that I have bush(forest) walk , a beach and a large pond all within minutes of a walk or a short 10 minute drive. You are so right how the moods of them all change day by day. We just have to stop and take a pause, to see what's around us.
I do love to photograph around a pond. Great experience! Thanks so much! It's always fun to see how many wonderful birds that you can find around the water. I first saw a green heron around a pond.
AHH yes Julie! I have seen them once or twice. Hopefully next time I can see them to photograph. Great to read you walk there a lot. It is a very special place
Thank you Kim for the beautiful photo moments. Particularly arresting to me were the incidental swaying shots. It's a chance to create an arresting image of an overlooked subject made memorable.
Lovely video Kim, it takes me back to my regular visits to Gladhouse Reservoir when I sat and watched the ducks and geese so lovely. You could hear your excitement come through when you saw the dippers. Wait till Christopher sees those unbelievable clouds.
Thanks Kim for sharing your experience & great photos.... just shows that you don't have to travel far to get good opportunities to photograph... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
Another lovely video, I especially loved the Dippers and the sunrise Images. I have a nature park that is a 5 minute walk away and you never know what you might see.
I live near a pond too. It's around 15 minutes walk away. Interesting idea to wake up early for a couple of days and create images. I need to try this! Soon it's getting cold, so I no time to waste :)
Your challenge was extremely successful. You have great variety of subject matter and photographic genres. Although art appreciation is subjective, I believe many would agree you captured some stunning images. The four day project , with the weather variations allowed multiple gorgeous images of the same scene, more than once.
Wow the images of the ducks during sunrise are just superb plus the small shrub clinging to life on the log was so inspiring. As for the challenge it really worked showing just what incredible opportunities are there for us. I tried my own challenge using the same location but I did it using a different focal length lens and it opened my eyes to so many things.
Absolutely love your work Kim your videos are giving me great inspiration to get out with my camera if I ever get a chance to retire from work, God willing 🙏
I have a soft spot for ducks when I go to my local wetland I can feel stressed but when I see the duck gliding across the water my heart rate lowers and then when I put my eye to the viewfinder and I follow the duck the rest of the world evaporates and I am just in that moment. The Duck is the best medicine
Good morning Kim. This vlog just blew my mind and I have to say I was feeling for you a bit weather wise on day's one and two but like the true trooper you are you kept going and and as the vlog went on it just got better and better. Absolutely loved the dipper shots but you nailed it with one shot at 8.08 in my opinion. The feather in the sapling and the glassy water , pure perfection. Hope you have an amazing week and looking forward to next Sunday morning already....😎
Another great video, I'm lucky to live near Keston in Kent and have been photographing the 3 ponds, woods and heathland almost every Sunday for over 30 years, in all sorts of weather conditions and never fail to go home with a smile and an image or two. Unfortunately I rarely see another photographer there but they're so missing out!
Lovely peaceful video! What a beautiful trip. That’s a tribute to Nature !!! Stunning image of the light and wind playing on the Water… love so much the photos you take! They make stop the time !!! Thank you for sharing this awesome images . ❤👏
One of the photos of the little tree growing out of the log looks like an ICM background blended with a normal photo. That's pretty cool if that is what it is.
Very inspiring video Kim. Such a lovely pond to photograph so early in the morning . Love the serenity and sounds of the a.m hours, just pretty birds, nature and you. Have blessed day 🤲🏼✌🏽❤🇺🇸
Wow, did I need this video. Last week I underwent distal bicep tendon reattachment surgery on my right arm. All the photography plans for this fall shattered a little over a month ago. You have inspired me to think out of the box and laid plan. We have an amazing Metropark system, even voted #1 in the USA. We will just see what Images I can create. How much trouble can it be to flip images 180° in post. Or use a tripod or monopod for a change. Thanks for the inspiration!
thanks for this great video. sorry was very busy lately so i missed many videos, but today i really enjoyed the shots and your story. did made a similar self challenge during July and August with my local patch, it was really some kind of torturer with the extreme heat we have here in Jeddah something i have not lived in my past 56 years. but the results were so lovely specially with the friendship i made with manu local birds, specially the black bush robin, such a cute bird with lovely character.
Hello Kim. This is not the first time I've checked out your VLOG. But, it is the first time I've made a real comment on the video. I think it was a great idea to get up really early and walk to your local pond and photograph. Some of the images you shot was really breathtaking. I'm an amateur photographer, and I'm getting along in my years. This Friday with the grace of the universe I'll be 72 years old. Believe it or not I'm in great shape for my age. I have been thinking along the same line as you as far as getting out early in the morning. The light is so beautiful that time of the day; not to mention how sweet the air smell in the morning in the woods. Here's the thing. I want to start VLOGing. But, how do you come up with a decent conversation to have with the camera (your audience)? Do you work with a scrip or do you just start talking and sort it out later. Believe it or not, I'm a pretty decent photographer; just bad at selling! What did you do when you got started? This is nice work you've done. Peace to you and may God Bless!
Totally inspired to go to my local reserve now. However 6 days of rain and the camera i have , cant get wet. Well rain check on that idea. Love your videos and you creativity. thank you be safe out there.
You should do a cloud challenge like you did with the earth air water last year. You should also do one for frost or snow. The sunrise you almost missed looked pretty good, too bad you weren't there before it went off and lit up the sky.
Thank you for the suggestion. I have an online community now where we do monthly photography challenges together. It works much better than it did on UA-cam and it's great for people to connect and share images in a safe space ☺️
I don’t know when you filmed exactly, but this week in my town has been a rollercoaster of weather. A shed load of rain followed by a shed load of wind. This has all made my local park damp and gloomy but strangely warm for October. Earlier this week there was a brood of ten ducklings only a few days old. The next day the troop had reduced to three. They were little photogenic bundles of energy running around the water’s edge trying to see the world.
Hi Kim, that was such a beautiful and calming video. I was feeling a bit low in spirits this morning and watching and enjoying your video has cheered me up. It was quiet and just lovely and sometimes when we feel down and we don't know why, just a wee bit of the right TLC can bring you round. Your images of the ducks on the water during the morning golden hour were beautiful and they are, and will be, there in my mind's eye throughout this day. Thank you Kim.
Loved this! It just so happens that yesterday I decided at the last minutes to visit a local reservoir that is only 15 minutes from my home just to see what I could see and not really expecting to get any decent shots. But as luck would have it, I came away with several interesting images and plans to go back again and again to explore the many possibilities that I saw for other images. This video motivated me even more so to re-visit that reservoir under various lighting conditions. Thanks for the inspiration!
23:16 You did a very slick job of removing a woman from the shot! I see you now doing some things I suggested to you years ago. I did this quite a few yeas ago, I have two adjacent ponds to the south of me, a similar distance. My plan was one week landscape, one week wildlife. On the first morning I returned home just as my wife picked up the cup of tea she'd just poured for me, 7:00 am. This was October. Over the week I got supersaturated fiery red sunrises, gloomy grey, Australian Blue. No two the same. Unlike you, I took a prime lense, TS-E 24. The wildlife week died in two days, there's just not enough cover for little birds. So, another week of landscapes. I don't remember, I might have changed lenses. I noticed you didn't do black and white or much blur. Keep on swimming..
Its more than images for me. Its about appreciating the wonders of nature. Getting out and observing , smelling, touching, feeling that invigorates the senses.
A lovely video, Kim. What magical days they were. Thank you for taking us along with you.
This was like a four day local safari, with wildlife, nature, creative experimenting and ever changing light and circumstances. Thanks for taking us along, Kim.
You're welcome Marga ❤️
Very inspiring. Thank you Kim.
The 1st picture of the dipper at 13:25 melted my heart - beautiful image.
Thank you David! Was such a delight to be able to photograph this
Can’t wait to see you and Courtney Victoria. Love her work. She's great Michael! Her episode will be out next week ☺️

This is so beautiful to hear Charlie! Thank you!
Beautiful images. It is interesting how often we ignore those opportunities that are right on our doorstep. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks John.
Very creative, inspiring, and enjoyable 😉
You made some serious lemonade on Day 2! Slowing down to take in our surroundings is so important. I love the simplicity of your images on day one. Thanks again!
Thank you!
Thank you for shareing. I totaly love the sunrise pics of the ducks. Totaly magical.
You're welcome and thank you! It was a lovely sunrise
Thank you, thank you for making the video - it’s beautifully done ! We’re always looking for that great beautiful scene, that unforgettable experience ….. you showed that ‘beauty’ has always been around us - we just need to look….with our hearts…
Incredible series here, absolutely stunning morning light, and then capturing the little birds must've been the final gem.
Thank you Alex! It was so good to see and photograph the dippers
What a magical 4 day adventure Kim.

What a uplifting, heartening video, beautiful images - so inspiring. Thank you Kim ❤
Really enjoyable video, I absolutely love watching light & wind play on the water surface & the beautiful visual show 👍
Thank you! It's such a lovely thing to witness
I enjoyed watching your video a lot. I've been out at a local pond yesterday myself. It wasn't a great sunrise but it's always great to be outside. And if you go out without too many expectations and an open mind you always find something that inspires you.
Thank you! Great to read you've been out enjoying your local pond too. There certainly is always something to see ☺️
Such a beautiful video, with stunning photos. Lovely to watch, many many thanks for sharing this with us. Such a talented person.
Thank you Roy ☺️
Thank you for reminding me how beautiful this world can be!
Awe - you are welcome ❤️
I go to the river most mornings Kim and do exactly what you have been doing in my own village here on the Shannon river. Through the seasons and on good days and bad, I always come home feeling calmer and more at peace.
This is so lovely to hear Fiona! Great to have somewhere like that so close to you
The colors, textures, and patterns are truly amazing in your shots, Kim. I love your approach. Keep up the great work.
I really love some of these images, especially the duck in the morning light! I mean, WOW! Well done Kim!!
Thank you Travis
Lovely idea and some beautiful pictures from the challenge. I have a local area that I visit every week and it is great but one thing it lacks is water. As you said in the video the water is a core aspect of your location. Thanks for sharing this experiment.
An enjoyable video Kim. Day three was my personal favourite, you captured some cracking images there.🙂
Thank you Peter!
That’s what I love about photographing nature. You just never know what is going to present itself at that moment. I spend most of my time in the back yard (woods) and get plenty of interesting things. A mile or two in any direction I get ocean and all its creatures as well. Great video!

Wonderful story arc! Yes, you took some very nice pictures, but you also took some nice video clips as well. Thank you!
Thank you!
That was so inspiring Kim. You don't have to go too far to find beautiful opportunities. The ducks and dippers really made me smile. Was that a fish jumping behind you at 21.26 ...so cool! ❤
You certainly don't May! I believe that was a fish! Great to see upon editing
What a great idea Kim. I go to my local area quite often but haven't tried going multiple times a week at the same time. Given me something to think about. Thanks Susan and I hope you enjoy trying this for yourself 😊 Great! Victoria's episode comes out next week
You Made My Day! Thankyou! Cheers!
Really enjoyed this video Kim, making the most of what you have is really a good way to show your appretiation.
Thank you!
Great message and personal challenge. I mainly shoot local myself... nature always changes and it's always a pleasant surprise.
It certainly is! Thank you!
Taking photos at a nearby pond sounds rather boring, but when I see your fantastic photos I want to start right away.
Enjoy!
I thank you always for your inspiration. I am lucky that I have bush(forest) walk , a beach and a large pond all within minutes of a walk or a short 10 minute drive. You are so right how the moods of them all change day by day. We just have to stop and take a pause, to see what's around us.
Every time I view one of your videos I want to say “Well put.”
Thanks John
I do love to photograph around a pond. Great experience! Thanks so much! It's always fun to see how many wonderful birds that you can find around the water. I first saw a green heron around a pond.
They are wonderful places Jon! The bird life certainly can be great to see
Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing.
There are some lovely little grebes there kim . I walk around there a lot. like the leaves in the water shot.
AHH yes Julie! I have seen them once or twice. Hopefully next time I can see them to photograph. Great to read you walk there a lot. It is a very special place
You accepted the challenge of the morning dip and came away purring. Thanks. 😉
That's where I went Brian!!!! I immediately thought of Christopher.
Your local reservoir sounds lovely Brian! Oh I am sure Chris will love those clouds!
Such a peaceful and mindful video, Kim. It’s amazing what is around in your own backyard, something I explore most days.
Thank you Trish! There's always something to see and explore ☺️
Thanks Kim for sharing your experience & great photos.... just shows that you don't have to travel far to get good opportunities to photograph... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
The photos of the third morning are impressive.

Thank you Matthew! Great that you have a nice park so close to you
Very beautiful video, and being a film/documentary music composer myself I also need to add: perfect music choice 👍
Thank you very much!
I live near a pond too. It's around 15 minutes walk away. Interesting idea to wake up early for a couple of days and create images. I need to try this! Soon it's getting cold, so I no time to waste :)

Hi Kim what a beautiful video you’re so good at your art loved day 3 and loved the dipper’s keep sharing your excellent videos 😊
Thank you John! Day three was pretty special
Your challenge was extremely successful. You have great variety of subject matter and photographic genres. Although art appreciation is subjective, I believe many would agree you captured some stunning images. The four day project , with the weather variations allowed multiple gorgeous images of the same scene, more than once.
Thank you very much! I was very happy with the images I created and am considering doing more mini challenges like this. It's great fun!
Thank you Barry! Great to read you've done something similar. It's a fun way to experiment and enjoy somewhere with fresh eyes
Absolutely love your work Kim your videos are giving me great inspiration to get out with my camera if I ever get a chance to retire from work, God willing 🙏
Thank you Billy 😊
Wow….Day 3…….Just Wow!!
Great video Kim. Loved the photos from each day. And that sky at the end! Just amazing. You have great editing skills also. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much Karen!
I have a soft spot for ducks when I go to my local wetland I can feel stressed but when I see the duck gliding across the water my heart rate lowers and then when I put my eye to the viewfinder and I follow the duck the rest of the world evaporates and I am just in that moment. another excellent video, keep up the fantastic work.
Thank you!
Just found your channel and found this video quite inspiring. Not all your images worked for me but some were just beautiful. I'll be back for more!
Thank you!
Very inspiring video Kim. Such a lovely pond to photograph so early in the morning . Love the serenity and sounds of the a.m hours, just pretty birds, nature and you. Have blessed day 🤲🏼✌🏽❤🇺🇸

I needed this. It IS time for some lens therapy lol. I need to get out, slow down... and see what I can see.
Enjoy!
Very beautiful images Kim, the two dippers on the log and the slow shutter of the grass, magic. Your videos have become a Sunday treat, thank you.
Thank you very much!
thanks for this great video. sorry was very busy lately so i missed many videos, but today i really enjoyed the shots and your story.

Hi Kim, that was such a beautiful and calming video. I was feeling a bit low in spirits this morning and watching and enjoying your video has cheered me up.
Sounds like a lovely project you did a few years ago. It is lovely to set ourselves these challenges and see what we can see each day.
