My 73 trim has no screw holes or screws (upper front fender and doors). I guess all speed nuts on these or pure slide. Unfortunately, I bought the trim from LMC and they only have trim pieces with screw holes. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the help Bro! my 77 LWB has all the trim and its dern straight but needs few clips replaced....the guy I bought from used a two sided tape but over time has failed....had a few people tell me that the screws at ends were no suppose to be there but I see they are, thanks again!

Now that I look a little closer I believe the double stick tape on upper be molding must be factory? I see no evidence of clips and or holes for studs or speed nuts? and if there was how would you access them for the upper bed trim?
I agree- only stud at beginning and just before the corner. On the back (after the corner) mine has a black phillips head screw. Im the 2nd owner...

Thankx for sharing knowledge. Got a ? How is the clip attached to the fender. I have an 85 k5 with no side moldings and would like to add moldings and paint it chevy Red-Orange with white center and top. My Dad had a 74 C10 and would like to bring memories. Thankx.
No problem at all. Most of the pieces are held in with clips that are double-sided tape to the vehicle. Usually it’s on the end all the moulding where there is a clip that has a speed nut in behind it that attaches it to the fender

question...how do you remove rusted screw with stripped out head with out tearing up trim or fender
1/8" Drill bit and drill it out. I actually had to do this on one of my fender trim screws. Hop this helps.
Is that the same for the trim around the headlights and grille
It is not! They are held in with phillips screws around the headlights . I think the grille is bolted in.
@@OldeCarrGuy the chrome trim outlines the headlights and grille that hangs over the fenders

Not yet, however there have bee a couple local guy who have reached out saying they may have something for me!

Same idea. Not tape on these models until you got to 81 and up!
@@OldeCarrGuy Interesting .... my 77 has double sided tape. Having trouble getting it to "stick", so I am off on a mission.
I though there were models with all the hard fixed clips. Now I am trying to remember if we replaced the bedsides on my truck .... originally I was thinking no, but now I am more curious.
I would prefer the fixed clips all around.
LMC has the clips for sale pretty cheap! If they were taken apart previously, and put together with tape, they likely will never stick right. Those clips should have a stud and speed nut to hold them in place. I have to do the upper molding on the drivers side of the box as it was missing.
Cool, I'm actually searching how to delete it and fill in the gap. I like it without the molding but I believe those holes have to be filled. Anybody found videos on that bodywork DIY?
