The door issue is an easy fix. The plastic tube around the pig ends are gone. The plastic tube would prevent metal on metal rub. Get some thin plastic tube that fits the body shaft pig. And rebolt it back on. 😎👍
The plastic bushing on the door striker is probably gone. Common fix is to slip a piece of PEX tubing on the striker, did it on my doors and they close with ease now
I have a 2018 2500 that I literally have to turn the handle upside down to get it to take fuel without it stopping..... Try holding the handle like that..... May or may not help.... It did for me.... Great vids man.... I appreciate your in-depthness that you go into.....
thanks Chad, I have actually done that before on my 90! It’s not necessarily a filling issue. It fills just fine. It’s just that last few seconds you hear it starting to close off the filler neck, you have to pay attention an stop pumping or else it pukes out onto the ground and once my shoes! Lol
To repair your door for cheap get some filexable hose that has a hardish shell and cover the stud where the latch locks to it and it will close the plastic bushing they used was brittle and falls off
My Uncle had a '78 Suburban. It had manual door locks and he was kind of short, so he made a stick with a notch in one end to lock/unlock the passenger door.
whine whine whine geez lol I will look around for mirrors and wiper switch at my super secret parts shop lol same place I got your possible future content great video as always its not a real square body if you don't slam the doors
I actually have a 1977 c10 long bed with chrome mirrors and I love the truck, there is some body work that needs to be done but other than that it’s great
Looks like Dale is going to need some bodywork and fresh paint to go along with the updated mirrors and tonneau cover! Annnnd it sounds like those door openers could use some lubrication! (Just sayin').
i always went with the other style bed cover that was rails so there was no holes to add. and as for the mirrors i feel you going to a sports mirror there is always a hole to 2 to fill even from the other smaller factory mirrors
Okay, take the exterior mirrors off take em apart and send them to the chromer. Yes it'll be expensive but so will nice , especially NOS or primo used, ones be as the alternative is put the "Sport Mirrors " on and put screws/bolts nuts in the hole, tacky tacky, like I've seen done or get the body work done properly filling the holes which will be more than chroming. Those big 7 x 10's are great mirrors and look super, IMHO, in chrome. Scottsdale package was either the entry level package or one up from the bottom and most dealers especially if the truck was ordered for dealer inventory kept options , which kept the price of the truck down, to a minimum. I have a 72 C10 with the "Sport Mirrors " and wish it had the mirrors, in chrome, like you have on your truck. You do realize we are own worse critics of our vehicles. Okay I'll get down now ..
lol! Thanks Gregory! You make valid options but for now I may try to paint them body colour and see how that works out as there is no chrome shops handy. But I love the idea of having chrome mirrors!
I have an idea for both the mirrors and the tonneau cover snaps. Maybe we'll cover before the next live!
I can’t wait that long!!!!!

Great Tip! I'll try that out!
If you take the mirrors off, the holes in the door will be added venting and your doors might close better haha
You might be on to something there Josh!
Good video Jason
Thanks ACM

@@OldeCarrGuy Isn't their a vent tube or something that a man could use to get by this??

You mean like PEX pipe? Good call! Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
I heard you say Scottsdale did this truck come from Scottsdale Arizona? Jason
No, no! Scottsdale is the trim package not where i came from. Although, it was originally a New Mexico truck!
@@OldeCarrGuy oh okay thanks for the correction
Fantastic truck
Thank you sir!
To fix the door go to the hardware store and buy a small piece of 1/2 in pex pipe and put it on the striker the video is on UA-cam just look it up
Yup! All set! thanks.
My Uncle had a '78 Suburban. It had manual door locks and he was kind of short, so he made a stick with a notch in one end to lock/unlock the passenger door.
That's funny!
If your not able to do it yourself, take Dale to a body shop to have the mirror holes filled and painted.
Oh I'm able, I just dont want to paint the truck! Trying to keep as much of the original paint as possible.
The holes are pretty small and they use jack nuts to mount them
Yeah, but without a mirror attached wouldn’t it look weird?
Use ss mirrors, not chrome.
Toneau cover must go.
Your doors dont close because there is a missing piece on the bolt that sticks out of the jam
Thanks for watching.
Love the truck, I myself have a 79 c10 longbed with a 305
Love me a long bed
Olde Carr Guy love mine too, my is two tone white and yellow
A lot smaller you should say. Your C10 is within inches of today's Colorado. Great vid and truck. Keep up the good work
Yes. And Dale was considered a full size truck in his day!
At the end of the day, it’s a badass truck, don’t worry dale I got your back buddy lmao 😂👍👍👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️🤘🤘🤙🏻🤙🏻
haha. S'all good man!
did the 77 have the option on intermittent wipers?
Mine didn’t but I think you can ad them from other higher optioned trucks, blazers or suburbans.
Cheap easy fix, paint your mirrors black. They instantly look smaller an less noticeable. Nice rig! PEACE!!!!!
Thanks bud

“Super Secret “! Lol love it!

Thanks for sharing! I appreciate the view!
I’d love to have one of those trucks factory
Me too!

Thanks man! Gonna stick with original paint as long as I can! And, I will be working on door adjustment soon!
If u want chrome mirrors just wrap em chrome
I thought about that, but the tubes would have a seam.
i always went with the other style bed cover that was rails so there was no holes to add. and as for the mirrors i feel you going to a sports mirror there is always a hole to 2 to fill even from the other smaller factory mirrors
I'll find something someday!
The 5 Things bug bit you, too? Lol! All valid points
Haha! I thought so!
Looking good! Those wheels and the body style of the truck classic!
Thanks Luca!
You can always weld up all the holes and do some paint
Thanks peter, but with an original paint truck, I’m trying to keep it that way as much as possible.
I’ll take it off of your hands. Haha. No looks good. I’d call those issues character.
Absolutely! Thanks bud

Cover the holes with stickers, or wrap the whole truck
A woodgrain wrap would be awesome don’t you think? 😂
All you need is a 5th wheel to go with those mirrors.
Or a period correct camper shell !!!
👌🏽
Thanks bud
Maybe you shouldn't have lowered your truck so much if you didn't want to squat to put your gas in
Interesting concept.
