    The pickup is ok. The musicianship is premier league! Thanks for posting Tim.

    Thanks to you Tim, I’ve become addicted to the sweet, distinct, clean tone that you coax out of a Tele. I grew up in Toronto where you could see Ed Bickert in clubs or on CBC television where he was in a sort of in house orchestra/ band. For guitar nuts, it was fabulous. He played a blonde Tele with a humbucker. You play just like him.

    Still my favorite Tele combo is mini HB in neck. Fell in love with the 52 Hot Rod Tele years back. Switch out SC bridge PU to stacked HB and it is a wonder. One I string with flat rounds and keep in Eb tuning for a jazz/blues heaven. Yet to get to a P90 neck setup but all in time. I think I can do Tele combos to the point where my hands won’t play anymore. Such an amazing platform to experiment with. Thank You Leo

    Sounds great! I use 11 gauge on my Japanese tele. I got the CS 51 Nocaster Pickups in mine and I adore them. I love that mini humbucker though

    I searched and searched for a neck pu that was close to the original PAF I had in a '59 Esquire (a real one) that was stolen. I settled on an old Duncan mini-humbucker that sounds great. Tom Anderson also makes a stacked coil neck PU for the Tele sounds very PAF-ish. Now I need to try the La Prima..

    Amazing playing as always Tim! I feel that the pickup brings out a lot of the acoustic character from your Nachocaster. What do you think? Best wishes from Mexico City!

    Hi Tim,
    How do you juggle with so many pickups? C. C. , P90, Lollars of many sorts, goldfoils La Prima now and many others I have forgotten . You got me dizzy , Jimmy Reed used to say . Most beautiful tune here Sir! I’ll try to nail some of it !Your vids are a real pleasure to watch , effortless beauty ! Take good care , Bernard.

    that la prima sounds great and of course your playing, Tim!! Did you swap out to 500K pots? Both? cheers. I think I'll get a la prima :)

    • @johnbeddoe782

      ah just spotted that you stuck with 250k pots

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  3 місяці тому

      Yeah, it’s still plenty bright with the 250 K pots and that avoids the problem of having the bridge pickup too bright

  • @FL-by9xz
    @FL-by9xz Рік тому +2

    Very nice Tim! I’m curious - you use a range of guitars but for your videos you seem to use a Princeton most of the time. Do you change the settings on your amp depending on the guitar your using or are you always using the same settings?

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  Рік тому +4

      My settings change slightly, depending on the guitar, maybe a little less treble, a little more treble, the bass stays about the same, the reverb goes up and down. There’s not much you can do to change a princeton.

    Did you do anything special with the wiring or is the mini humbucker going straight into a 250K tone pot?

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  Рік тому

      Nothing special in the wiring. Just replaced the neck pick up. The pots stayed the same.

      Love Teles for Jazz. Do you play standard tuning always or sometimes down tuning Eb or D like Hendrix or Albert King. I know trad. Jazz ain t much about bending but I like Blues Jazz and Fusion.

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  Рік тому +2

      I tune down to Eb and D and sometimes Db. I use heavier strings the lower i go.
