I remember seeing Shahid in a roundtable maybe 10-15 years ago and thinking this guy is fake which was sad because I really liked him in Jab we Met etc. and somehow thought he was a good human being - but after that roundtable, I was like maybe he is just a good actor who can project that he is a good human being. Cut to his recent interview with Anupama Chopra and this one which makes me realize he indeed has his heart in the right place. As he himself admits. he went through a phase of trying to fit in and trying to figure out who he was and what he stood for. To now, when he is do comfortable in his own skin, his choices, his life - so relatable because I guess most of us go through that phase of trying to fit in when we are unsure of ourselves to the point where we know and accept and own who we are
I think as an actor he deserves much more. Liked listening to his journey it was almost like a timeline of my life from school, college, internship and more

Actually the thing about Kabir Singh is that Shahid has played it brilliantly with so much conviction that we are not able to separate the character from the person and we are blaming him for being thw character.

The way SK roasted Mayank at some points was so, so good! Especially when Mayank had this very judgy tone about the arranged marriage question and even Kabir Singh. His reaction of "Devdas was a crappy movie" to what SK said was so childish!

Superb interview! Shahid at his candid best. Should have asked about his experience in Deewane Huye Paagal (2005) where he worked with the Hera Pheri trio of Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal & Akshay Kumar. Did he feel secure or shortchanged here? Because as an audience I feel he was completely dominated by them!

Hats off to Shahid for patiently sitting through this entire interview. What wrong with the host? He was continously throwing shots at him!
The host is very annoying at times and interrupted Shahid way too many times. He’s more interested on forcing his opinion over Shahid. Glad that Shahid didn’t get intimidated and acted calmly. Apart from that it was a good interview. Shahid seems such a fun n honest person.

So the interviewer shut on Shahid for Kabir Singh. I want to see the interviewers review of Animal. We are waiting. If you don’t shit on Animal, then you had something against Shahid.
I think the term "Hero" is taken out of context in Indian films. An actor is not a hero by default! You can have superhero films or you can have films that are documentries of a real life hero's life. Shahid is right in saying he played a flawed character, the story represented what happens in real life, women do tend to fall for their abusers and can't seem to break out of that circle. Also sometimes the abusers themselves are battling something deeper while their heart may be in the right place. Regardless of how Kabir Singh ended, the character was not hero. It was a real life representation of a guy who was battling inner demons. Shahid portrayed that character flawlessly.
I didn’t appreciate Anupama Chopra or Rajeev Masand’s interviews enough until I watched this 🙄
