Shahid is a vegetarian who doesn’t eat paneer, mushroom, cheese or anything fried because he believes in eating only healthy food. Given that we had to call for food from restaurants and not home cooked, it was difficult to plan a menu for him. Would love to hear some suggestions from you on what else we could have ordered.😀

Totally understand. The problem is that people are making "vegetarian" as a broad choice-which is a very simplistic situation. A lot of people dont like dairy products, mushrooms. soya, as well as certain legumes like garbanzo beans etc. So just saying that a vegetarian has a lot of choice may not be accurate. The same goes for "non-veg" , because there is such a variety of meat, which is for or against personal tastes and beliefs. I'd cut some slack to Team Curly Tales just for this specific issue.
@Khyati Shukla Vegetarianism is not difficult. Availability of choices that are safe, hygienic and suited to one's palette and beliefs is difficult. Same goes for "non-veg" too, by the way.

Exactly. India has always been easy for vegetarian food. And tbh now the whole world is quite good for vegetarian and even getting good for vegan! Very ignorant of the host to say that tbh. Back in the day Europe used to be tough for vegetarians but it’s getting better, india was always easy. I say this as a British person who travelled to these places in the 90s and then recently too.
I am not talking about the food here I am talking about the way she taking interview with such celebrities and I think that you don't understand that line correctly I am not write this comment in arrogant manner I am just tell u what I want u say on that comment

Vegetarian food is hard to find in India? 🤔 Is she for real? We live in 2022 where so many people worldwide are turning vegetarians and vegans while India has the largest vegetarian population since generations. Badly done research, but Shahid answered so wisely and politely. 👍🏼 I loved the way he conducted throughout the video

I had a huge crush on Shahid when I was in school. I used to die to buy his posters but never had enough pocket money. He is still as humble & sweet as he was in the beginning of his career. It was a lovely interview.

This is the first time ever in the history of curly tales interview that Kamiya was a little off with that vegetarian food comment! Uspe Shahid ka comeback was really subtle yet effective! And Shahid still looks sooooooooooo cute❤️
Vegetarian + vegan + very healthy = no paneer, dairy, Chole bature or cheese. When calling for food from a restaurant, this can be a little challenging. How about you share a few options in comments below. It will help for our next guest :)
@@curlytalesdigital Agree that ordering a curated preparation from a restaurant can be a challenge. Every other dish has paneer these days.
Going by how much variety of fruit&veg is available to cook with it, I find it interesting when people make comments like its difficult to order food for vegetarian. Besides when you invite a guest it’s rude to make them feel that feeding them was some how difficult for you. Not polite! Good on shahid for schooling you without being disrespectful ! Next time you invite a vegan/vegetarian on the show ask your community here for recommendation on what to order. It’s not rocket science!

@curly tales there are so many options like soya chaap it’s very tasty made of soy beans, take any lentil like rajma or chana, have their tikkis or curry , from starter to main course , many vegetarian options , Indo Chinese cauliflower manchurian or spaghetti or cauliflower pizza or oats baked food .. ragi dosa or mysor masala dosa all vegan

Sad he hardly ate
Veg has many options obviously but for a non veg person, it won't be that attractive.
For most non veg people veg food is rice, dal, paneer, rajma, chana, etc.

Yeh star jab interview k liye aate hain tab pehle se hi bata diya jata hain unke team ki taraf se ki woh isse allergic hain yeh woh nahi khate milk add naa ho toh spice na ho etc etc isliye usne bola aisa becz main bhi shooting line se hun or maine star k yeh sab problem face kiye hain

I am fascinated how many Indian Celebrities are vegan. You do a great job finding vegan options. I am vegan too. Love that you go into the details of how they became successful and also get into details of the food. Keep up the great work!
Why there is so much hype and surprise on being a vegetarian? C'mon atleast in India vegetarian food is way of life!! There are so many varieties across all all diverse states. You need to make some efforts to make it, that's all! Our farmers depends on our consumption, we should promote it rather than being shocked at it!!!
Nothing against non vegetarians at all....but vegetarian are also humans and vegetarian food is available in all forms across the world!!!

And it was not mentioned just once or twice, but three times or more, with reference to this book that he read which prompted him to go vegetarian. Clearly, there was some inherent irritation for vegetarians.

Kamiya is so ignorant with her vegetarian food knowledge. But Shahid was pretty cool with his response.
Practically all indian cuisine is vegetarian.
Staple Maharashtrian, Gujarati, Rajasthani, South Indian, Udupi food is pretty much Vegetarian.
& whats about bengali foods?

I've only tried bengali sweets available in local sweet shops.

@@upadeshpande M not from bengal, M from assam. M a non vegetarian, but most of the time, I eats vegetarian foods, though M a brahmin, but that doesn't mean, all Indian eats vegetarian. The staple food of bengalis are, rice & fish curry, mutton curry, chicken curry. But, still we can prepare foods without, even onion & garlic. Right now, when M writing, M eating pure vegetarian dishes. Waiting for your reply.

Obviously the staple coastal food is primarily rice n fish.
My point is that Vegetarian food is a part of so many cuisines in India. Especially the states which have higher level of agriculture.

its really heartening to see that a lot of actors are tuning vegetarian consciously. No alcohol and no meat is key to looking young. most Hollywood actors and international athletes are also turning Vegan and reversing their aging and adding more stamina to their body and mind. Way to go.

Loved the episode more because of Shahid’s honest response and his view of being vegetarian and the response about options in vegetarian shared in public platform was perfect answer!! I genuinely liked his thought process of belief in karma and life. Became a fan 🙌🏻. I think born vegetarian or people who transform to being vegetarian constantly requires to be proven or convince others that people can still be healthy and survive needs to be changed. Totally agree.. Can’t believe someone who hosts and owns a food blog is surprised on availability of Vegetarian food in India. A bit disappointed with curly tales at that question.

@@curlytalesdigital still it isn't justified I feel. There are soo many options. You could have gone for South Indian dishes or Rajma chawal, kadi chawal, chole chawal and many more. I felt a bit disappointed as vegetarian people are often asked the same stereotypical questions like these. Guys you need a life. The delusion of non vegetarians that there are limited options in vegetarian food is a form of insecurity that takes the shape of bullying
Most of the food you eat is vegetarian- from you parathes to chole bhature, palak paneer, mushrooms, gobhi, gajar halwa, moong daal, rajma, thali, and thousands of items and plants
On the other hand non veg mostly revolves around chicken, fish, and mutton!!! Now you can make a hundred combos with meat and eggs but it's still meat and eggs....it's nowhere close to the fruits,veggies and grains you eat!!!

Kamya, for your kind information I am from Kerala and we have a very healthy veg.cuisine without paneer, mushroom , butter , onion etc. Lot of vegetables with coconut and no other masala.

Shahid's diet is so me! Vegetarian, mostly plant-based, not big on mushrooms either.
Vegetarian foods have great menu specially in country like India with so much diversity n known for its satvik foods around the world I've seen many tourists come to India just to have satvik vegetarian foods in truest sense cause they said pure vegetarian foods they got only in india in other foreign countries on the name of vegetarian foods they mixed up chicken mutton too.
Kamya not done.. vegetarian too have many options it feels like your indirectly saying non veg food are best and those who eating vegetarian have limited options..

Quinoa, Couscous salad, Sandwiches , Idli, Uthappa, Dhokla, Khandvi, Avocado Toast, Broccoli Tikka, Jackfruit Kebabs, stir fired vegetables, Lebanese Veg food…list is endless, basically normal Indian meals
