I'm 18 and I have a hobby for saws myself. You and Buckin' Billy Ray Smith inspired it, I have learned so much watching your videos. I'm currently working on a Homelite c-72 which I had to put the rod and piston and cylinder on, I got it to bust off but the carb needs rebuilt. Not many young people are into stuff like this and I'm trying to save history and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
A Labor of Love Id like to call it

Hey Tinman, thanks for another real vid. Gotta laugh, I was just reading the comments from Rodger Dodger, he is 18 , I am 64 and it seems the 2 of us are both being inspired by this hobby which you have helped nurture. Thats quite a range of viewers you reached out to….very cool. Have fun this weekend.

I fly radio control airplanes, and sacks chainsaw engines were converted to use years back. There are a couple of ways that were used, from the original to two different types of cdi. One has advance for starting, the other automatically changes timing after starting. Have multiple engines from 35cc to 100cc, and you have to be careful when a knifedge chunk of wood is trying to take your fingers off! After sitting over the winter it takes a bit to get fuel thru the lines, and by the time that happens you are getting tired, and that can really really really get your attention! Like how you share your experience with us!

Sweet ole saw. I have two SDs. My Dads 117 and a 112 I bought. Great ole saws. It’s gonna be awesome to hear that 153 (100cc) beast come to life. It may just become your favorite saw to run if you can make it reliable. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Awesome job on the coil fix. The chainsaw community is full of generous people. I own a 032av and the gas tank started to corrode and get holes. then a gentleman on a forum im part of said he has a used set of cases he would send me if I pay the shipping cost.

Try a new Plug, had Sparky Plugs that won´t fire when threaded in.
I got something in my Head that says, that these Modules are not working with these Ignitions and that much Magnets in these Flywheels.
Had another German ILO 2 Stroke Waterpump for Germany Firefighters which ran way to hot by just throwing in a Module instead of Points.
Take a Timing Pistol and a see where the Timing is by reving it without Plug with a Cordless Drill.Mark TDC and it should Spark 20 Deg before TDC.Kind Regards from Germany

Normally the ignition timing is set as late as you can get it on the adjustment. At least that is what I found on all the sachs dolmar saws

I have a Dolmar 120 (late) with the SEM type GA ignition module that needs replaced. Most 120 models come with the Bosch coil set up like your saw has, I came across an article that did the trigger mod like you did and he mentions advancing the timing all the way, the article is at chainsaw collectors se and is called: Bosch Ignition fix For Dolmar, Stihl, Husqvarna
Anybody have some insight on what to do to replace the SEM type GA ignition module? The used ones are all out of stock and around $100, I might just give up on this one...

Hey friend do you have any content on a 6000i, theres not much on the interwebs it has an Italian cyclinder on it and pulls hard and I was wondering if had any experience with these. I am thinking of getting a 6800 top end to play with, is it worth it? I dont plan on touching the 6000i jug, #s seem to tight from Dolmar plus it pulls like a 70+cc saw but I hear the 6800 top end is Mahle. PS I love your content and attitude, rock on friend from a fellow HVAC'er but just service I cant do metal to save my skin tho

    The Lumberjack
    Jackyl
    Composition: Jesse James Dupree
I was born in the backwoods
    Of a two-bit nowhere town
Fathered up some rock 'n' roll (baby)
So you muthers could boogie down
    I ain't whistling dixie
    No I'm a rebel with a groove
All around the world the ygo 'round and 'round
When they dig on my new stainless steel sound Oh yeah
    I'm a lumberjack baby
I'm gonna cut you down to size
    I'm a lumberjack baby
And you're the one that gets my prize
And when you hear my motor running
You know I surely be coppin' a rise
Oh So I'm gonna crank it up and cut it down
    I'm a lumberjack baby
    I'm a lumberjack now baby
    I'm a lumberjack baby
    I'm a lumberjack baby
But I ain't jacked my lumber baby
