    Great review!!
I bought lessons a la carte.
Beginner guitar just to see if I liked it and I do.
I have about five different videos from beginner guitar to beginner rock to beginner blues guitar.
They also have guitar lessons from professional musicians with decades of experience!!!!!!

Hi Michael. I just wanted to say what a pleasant person you are. You should maybe do some kind of podcast. I would listen. Thanks for the video. Cheers 🍻

Nice review. I have bought 2 courses from Truefire and am totally happy with them. I'm not sure I would buy the yearly membership though as I think that would be to overwhelming

      Too overwhelming.
I am next to you. And it’s too overwhelming.

I bought quite a few Truefire courses when they first started (about 2005 I think) and found them really useful because of the styles of music I liked which at the time was hard to find good lesson content.
I eventually became an all access member and managed to lock in a good price so I’m quite happy about that. Also this enables me to have access to all the older courses I bought as CD ROMS in an online format.
I’m not interested in metal or shredding and would think something like JTC would be better for those kind of players.
I still dip into some of the older courses and even just by watching one or two chapters I always learn something new.

for me it works like a charm, but i just buy a course I like. And i think that is their strength. Pick a good course you want, and build from there.

You just showed me way more about how to use the app than I knew as a paying customer of many months.

One issue with Truefire is that great players aren't necessarily great teachers. Just watch the Pat Martino lessons. They are pretty much impenetrable.

Just subscribed to TrueFire. (Summer 30% off sale - so $167 for 12 months.) I’m about 5 lessons in. Pretty impressed so far. Video quality is very good. As noted in the YouRube video, the closeup shots of the finger is really helpful. Seems like a very good value so far

It’s on sale for $99 (10 Dec 2022) They often put it on sale at this price.

I did the same! And while the site is a little clunky at first, I'm really enjoying it and learning a lot. I have the Truefire app on a PC, and in conjunction with the website it all works very well - you need to plan your learning structure and use the 'Colleections' in the app. I've been playing for years, and had some regular lessons, and these add a lot to what to I'm trying to achieve.

So, are you a better guitar soloist from watching these lessons? That would be great feedback.

Bought the 123 Rockabilly course a week and a half ago. Still haven t figured out how the damn thing works. I know their instructors are first rate but their websites navigation path desperately needs over hauling and simplifying. Wish me luck!

I feel like classical would be the one for pretty much everybody except maybe country and blues. Because if you learn classical, it translates to any six string after that. You learn it, you'll already have the basics and advanced fundamentals of playing, and be able to hold the guitar correctly and use your fingers on your fretting hand efficiently. Basically you'll be able to play anything after learning and succeeding in classical guitar. It's like hitting THREE or more birds with one stone.
They do everything from slow and melodic to chaotic and INSANE, a lot of the best neoclassical solos from guys like Malmsteen and Vai were influenced by these composers.
I highly suggest if into metal or anything similar, even regular old rock, I would say learn classical guitar, because it can always translate directly to any guitar if you need it to.
