This video aims to bring the poem "To a Skylark" of William Wordsworth, to life. William Wordsworth was an English poet who is considered one of the most important figures in the development of English Romanticism. He was born on April 7, 1770, in Cockermouth, Cumberland, England, and died on April 23, 1850.
We have carefully selected this poem from the other poems William Wordsworth has written.
The poem "To a Skylark" is a joyous celebration of the beauty and power of nature, and a tribute to the lark's soaring song. Wordsworth is addressing the bird, urging it to lift him up into the clouds with its song, and praising its mad joy and divine inspiration. Wordsworth contrasts his own weariness and the difficulties of his journey with the lark's effortless flight and carefree existence, but ultimately finds solace and contentment in the lark's song and the natural world. The poem is an expression of Wordsworth's belief in the transcendent power of nature and the human imagination.
The poem in this video is narrated by Shane Morris (an award winning voice actor). We took care to edit the audio as perfectly as we can. It took us months of learning before we were able to edit the voice like this.
We believe that there is wisdom in these historic texts. We are very hesitant in creating video's with different moving backgrounds, because we believe it might contradict the wisdom that is displayed in the text. We hope you appreciate the effort!
