Best time to use it is either that, or when you are close to ACS overload yourself, since it resets impact. But I am also a very far-gone addict of teching assault armor..

My comment has nothing to do with whether or not this build can beat someone using Zimmermans, because it contains a Zimmerman. Of course you can beat Zimmermans if you use a Zimmerman.
People know the Zimmerman is good, but they always cry about DUAL Zimmermans. You will RARELY find anyone running a singular Zimmerman. We can't have optimal AND unique at the same time for a melee build, because melee inherently is far too finnicky.
pulse scutum honestly seems like it was made for pve and to punish novice/stat based pvp, where you can quickly deal with enemies and open it before getting in the fight, which keeps it from overheating or resetting the prime mode
Idk if he's any different in AC6 but in souls pvp oro mostly ran weird theme builds even though he did have a few "meta" builds he'd fall back to when streaming. Not really a hyper competitive guy like steelovsky or others
Props for beating him but your build literally counters him. He has a pulse shield you have pulse blade. On paper you won. You’re gonna cut through his shield faster. And you showed tech for the pulse battle. You beat him in the assembly
Depends, my pulse blade was doing like 500 dmg to him total with each swing, when normally it does like 2k or so with a charged swing. Shields are great against melee, IF you can parry them. He just managed his impact meter badly and didn't respect the ACS overload.
@@CodenameMood That's the thing. Pulse weapons are really good at inflicting ACS strain on pulse shields/armor. That pulse scutum has Impact reduction around 70, so he wouldn't even feel it if it wasn't a pulse blade.
I Generally love how use the Zimmerman yourself not using as the primary weapon respecting your other weapons and Yourself dancing away absolutely beautiful
I’m not really a huge Oroboro fan or anything, and the movement is super impressive, but the Zimm really does the trick for a melee oriented build lmao still insane stagger by itself plus it’s a nice finisher on direct hit when your opponent has little health to finish them off

The Pile Bunker is such a dope weapon, but I can't land it for shit. lol. I feel like it comes out a bit slow and people usually recover from me breaking their guard faster than I can get it out. Specially when you need to use weapon bay to pull it out from your shoulder.
Switch to the bunker before you do your zimmerman shot that breaks their stagger. Swapping weqpons is the majority of the delay, and many weapons wing animations cannot true combo into it, which iw why you always set up with the zimm shot
A skilled pilot can make up the difference in builds usually. The only meta this build straight up loses against is skybox missile boats, quadrupeds with dual zimmermans that spam kick while being locked on, and the Bumblebee.
He plays nothing but mega meta, kick-spam dual zimmerman quads are a build mine loses to 100% of the time since it's 0 skill brainrot. Call Geenine, tell him to play my build, watch him go 0-50 with an actually skilled build.

Oroboro has an absolute warcrime of a build that's a Tank AC running four laser cannons to instakill as soon as he gets a stun. Would love to see you beat it in melee.
That's an warcrime alright. But I think a reverse joint missile build might be able to beat it. It's way too dangerous to get close to that thing, since even laser weapons have a better chance of hitting at close range.
I feel like dual zimmerman builds are so one-dimensional it's not even fun- Like, you could pair a haldeman to make shots feel more erratic and keep pressuring on the ACS, I feel like the Zimmerman shoots too slow for it to be so reliable anyway. That ACS strain per shot should be nerfed a bit though, it's really fucking crazy Also, this clears up some important things. I felt like switching from melee to second melee felt awkward as hell, and I can now see it's not how it is supposed to be. Good to know
Really cool video? I realize this isn't a melee suggestion, but could you try out dual Haldemans + dual Sweet Sixteens? It's a build I worked out after getting a bit sick of the Zimm stagger+ Needle punish meta, and it's really fun to use since it is very high risk-high reward. The problem with it is when it goes against heavier ACs, especially those that have meta builds, but I imagine quality movement may be able to offset it. Would you be willing to give it a try? Anyways, great video, I really love to see a melee player in AC games, and glad that 6 gives so many options. Now if only we could dual blade like in FA...
Doing the blade dash cancel with the oscillator sometimes turns the beam invisible. I know its an animation but, but couldn't figure out how to do it consistently 🤔

Also Oro was using a fun experimental build? I mean even a player new to PvP after chapter 2 may even stood a chance against him. being humble comes a long way. He uses a slow medium weight meme shield build that is nowhere near meta and you are running a lightweight RJ/biped with dual melee and spamming melee cancel, something that quite possibly might get touched by fromsoft in the future. Also the video title says Zimmer crucher and you are running zimmerman, doesnt matter if you are running a single one, you are just part of the problem, just not that glaring like the other "problems". Also "#1 melee player"? Who counted and found you in first place?...I mean flex is one thing but this is next to toxic man. I felt this video was more antagonizing against him than anything else. Maybe you should compare your content quality against his and count your subs against his. It might teach you humility.

I admire how you are so accurate with your tracking, that is currently my problem, I know what to do but i'm constantly losing my opponent and Im terrible at judging distance melee accurately. This is my Ideal playstyle, just not good enough to execute, my energy management seems to suffer as i'm constantly red lining, just practice I guess.
JeeNiNe is just a full meta abuser that only has a focus on what's really good. If he played my build, he'd go 0-50 since his brain has rotted from meta abuse so much he probably could not pilot a skilled AC.

Playing the campaign, the NPCs pull maneuvers that seem impossible for the player. After some examination, I think it might be just assault boost using boost turn to change facing. Any thoughts? Any
NPCs are hard-coded to dodge inputs. They seem to have a cooldown on it however and can't spam it, so if you fake out a dodge once, they will eat the second hit guaranteed most of the time.
I'm sure you already know but if you start the match with your shotgun on your right hanger, you can switch between it and your fist. IF you srat with the shotgun in your right hand, then you cannot switch.

Dude, love your video. I'm been trying to make lighter weigh acs work and this inspired me. I'll share one possibly useless thing I found. If you jump while moving you will not go as high as if you stop inputing direction when you jump. Would be interested to see if you think that has any application in pvp.
If your enemy flies or jumps a lot, try to match them by jumping yourself too. Otherwise, I like being close to the ground since I want that sweet sweet EN Recharge to kick in ASAP.
@@thegoat4314 what I was saying is you get roughly a 15% increase in jump height if you just don't input movement when you hit jump. Might be usefull especially on reverse joint since it's percentage based.
You can check my first video for the build! I use Alula, they have amazing QB recharge, and decent enough capacity, with good melee thrust. Kikaku is best melee thrust, but everything else sucks on it.
Scutum just aint worth it in my opinion. You can't dash because that closes the shield and then you have to wait for it to power up again, and if you can't dash then you're eating all the highest stagger attacks which will quickly burst it; even with the scutum powered up it doesn't feel like it does enough to lessen impact and damage.
very good plays. with the revers joints and the pile driver i always find i am to far or overshoot a boost forward to get in position for a charged attack. any advice on positioning? I assume its just practice and knowing your dashes?
A Zimmerman user with a brain, is far scarier than a Zimmerman user without one. Besides, my whole build is based around the melees rather than the Zimmerman.
My fam, an ape rushing you down with nothing but dual zim and stun needles using the full power of 2 brain cells is what's meta. Using 1 in a gimmick instance on builds with much higher skill ceilings is pretty different considering there's actual risk involved vs the haha funi instant stun on top of fat dps from brainless spam
Hi, I just discovered your channel. Have you experimented with laser daggers before? Would love to see them in some competitive gameplay too. I thought your style would benefit from it alot since daggers have exceptional cooling (you can practically constantly reuse them)
No, its not only that, Oro is literally BAD at utilizing shield. I can guarantee you shield beats every melee matchups, im using a perfect parry shield every time in pvp and the only thing im struggling if the player is really good at double zimmies and meele canceling, And a full tank tread build with coral shield, and i REALLY hate the PVP latency in this game despite having a good internet (when attacks its not physically and visually not in contact to your AC and still register the damage is so annoying, hell some of NPCs boss in the story mission is way better piloting their AC than any player, and way harder to face than any player, but i dodge 80% of their attacks and parry every attacks that is almost imposibble to dodge) . Theres this person with this pulse blade, and zimmerman build (i forgot his name), He first baited me with his melee cancel so that i instinctively Dash sideways, and he keeps doing that and forcing me to initial guard shield so that he can overheat me. it was an epic fight, but i won at the end, and let me tell you he is way better than you bcs he knows how to wear me off by keeping my ACS strain even tho i Perfect parry all of his melee, but the thing is Shields counters melee build no matter what, believe my ive tried to find ppl and no matter how good they are if theyre facing ppl with a shield and they are REALLY GOOD at parrying and anticipating attacks theres nothing they can do, and dont forget they can assault boost to get away and use quick turn to maneuver and wait for the shield cooldown if they overused it. to put it simply, its not that youre good (youre good at using melee but theres ppl that ive faced that far beyond that) its just that oro is so bad at using this build, hes so used to dashing and build laser lance double melee build and never got to experience the true power of a shield Oh dont get me started about Quad-legs with shield, plasma thrower, bullet orbit, and zimmerman/pistol/ransetsu-RF, its just a nightmare to face with if youre close range Note : please try using laser dagger bcs the damage potential is way higher than a pulse blade bcs it has 3 chain attacks, and its cooling is near instant, so you basically can chain attack 6 times in short amount of time 3 times as fast than any melee in the game, its lighter as well and youll be going faster
holy crap I made the SAME kind of build wild. I am using the coral blade and I am using BASHO frame with MIND BETA head. I am not even 10% as good at it as you. I am so glad to see someone can make it work. I use the coral generator to burst attack then run away and intentionally overload my generator to get 100% back instantly. I run massively under energy for a super high supply regen. One thing I tried to do rather than have a second blade is run a coral shield shoulder and a zimmer on the other shoulder. I can punch instead of a blade. Here is the alt version I would love to know if you think it's viable. EPYWQTJWRW4M
Coral Oscillator's basic slash (the non-charged long blade one) can be dashed out of as well, I am pretty certain of it. Your build seems more optimized for PVP stat wise, but again, it's all about the pilot's own skill! I have a ton of practice with my build, so I know all it's nuances, which is what makes me lethal. Your build is alright, just needs some more practice!

AC6 pvp scene seems pretty toxic, glad i have no interest in it, also it isn't really all that impressive to stream snipe a streamer knowing full well what they use, very easy to go into a stream snipe countering them
Smaller AC6 youtubers really be feeling themsleves by killing Oro once and putting it in the thumbnail as if its supposed to be some major feat of accomplishement. Also "He got to play the game months before others" is a weird thing to say. Is he supposed to be #1 player because of that? the more i look at the first match. it wasn't the zim that did the damage, it was good ol pulse blade and bunker.
Again, we care about the impact more so than the damage. The damage comes with the Pile Bunker doing 8.4k on an ACS overloaded unit.

The Pile Bunker is such a dope weapon, but I can't land it for shit. lol. I feel like it comes out a bit slow and people usually recover from me breaking their guard faster than I can get it out. Specially when you need to use weapon bay to pull it out from your shoulder.
Switch to the bunker before you do your zimmerman shot that breaks their stagger. Swapping weqpons is the majority of the delay, and many weapons wing animations cannot true combo into it, which iw why you always set up with the zimm shot

A skilled pilot can make up the difference in builds usually. The only meta this build straight up loses against is skybox missile boats, quadrupeds with dual zimmermans that spam kick while being locked on, and the Bumblebee.

Oroboro has an absolute warcrime of a build that's a Tank AC running four laser cannons to instakill as soon as he gets a stun. Would love to see you beat it in melee.
That's an warcrime alright. But I think a reverse joint missile build might be able to beat it. It's way too dangerous to get close to that thing, since even laser weapons have a better chance of hitting at close range.
Oroboro was using a super honest build though.

I feel like dual zimmerman builds are so one-dimensional it's not even fun-
Like, you could pair a haldeman to make shots feel more erratic and keep pressuring on the ACS, I feel like the Zimmerman shoots too slow for it to be so reliable anyway.
That ACS strain per shot should be nerfed a bit though, it's really fucking crazy
Also, this clears up some important things. I felt like switching from melee to second melee felt awkward as hell, and I can now see it's not how it is supposed to be. Good to know
Really cool video? I realize this isn't a melee suggestion, but could you try out dual Haldemans + dual Sweet Sixteens? It's a build I worked out after getting a bit sick of the Zimm stagger+ Needle punish meta, and it's really fun to use since it is very high risk-high reward.
The problem with it is when it goes against heavier ACs, especially those that have meta builds, but I imagine quality movement may be able to offset it. Would you be willing to give it a try?

Also Oro was using a fun experimental build? I mean even a player new to PvP after chapter 2 may even stood a chance against him.

He uses a slow medium weight meme shield build that is nowhere near meta and you are running a lightweight RJ/biped with dual melee and spamming melee cancel, something that quite possibly might get touched by fromsoft in the future. Also the video title says Zimmer crucher and you are running zimmerman, doesnt matter if you are running a single one, you are just part of the problem, just not that glaring like the other "problems". Also "#1 melee player"? Who counted and found you in first place?...I mean flex is one thing but this is next to toxic man. I felt this video was more antagonizing against him than anything else. Maybe you should compare your content quality against his and count your subs against his. It might teach you humility.

I admire how you are so accurate with your tracking, that is currently my problem, I know what to do but i'm constantly losing my opponent and Im terrible at judging distance melee accurately. This is my Ideal playstyle, just not good enough to execute, my energy management seems to suffer as i'm constantly red lining, just practice I guess.

Besides, it's quite weird Oro became the spotlight for hate for spreading toxicity build when his views isn't exactly big as UA-camr's other video that literally is promoting Zimmerman build. In fact, there's even a Zimmerman build with Laser Lance + Pile Bunker that has 500k views compared to Oro and yet they didn't hate the dude who made it.

Playing the campaign, the NPCs pull maneuvers that seem impossible for the player.
After some examination, I think it might be just assault boost using boost turn to change facing.

NPCs are hard-coded to dodge inputs. They seem to have a cooldown on it however and can't spam it, so if you fake out a dodge once, they will eat the second hit guaranteed most of the time.
I'm sure you already know but if you start the match with your shotgun on your right hanger, you can switch between it and your fist. IF you srat with the shotgun in your right hand, then you cannot switch.
I'm aware. The punch is far too unreliable and leaves you open due to it's long and drawn out animation unfortunately.

Dude, love your video. I'm been trying to make lighter weigh acs work and this inspired me. I'll share one possibly useless thing I found. If you jump while moving you will not go as high as if you stop inputing direction when you jump. Would be interested to see if you think that has any application in pvp.
If your enemy flies or jumps a lot, try to match them by jumping yourself too. Otherwise, I like being close to the ground since I want that sweet sweet EN Recharge to kick in ASAP.
Jumping is fine while moving.
@@thegoat4314 what I was saying is you get roughly a 15% increase in jump height if you just don't input movement when you hit jump. Might be usefull especially on reverse joint since it's percentage based.

You can check my first video for the build! I use Alula, they have amazing QB recharge, and decent enough capacity, with good melee thrust. Kikaku is best melee thrust, but everything else sucks on it.

Scutum just aint worth it in my opinion. You can't dash because that closes the shield and then you have to wait for it to power up again, and if you can't dash then you're eating all the highest stagger attacks which will quickly burst it; even with the scutum powered up it doesn't feel like it does enough to lessen impact and damage.
Agreed. Coral shield dwarfs all other shields unfortunately.

very good plays. with the revers joints and the pile driver i always find i am to far or overshoot a boost forward to get in position for a charged attack. any advice on positioning? I assume its just practice and knowing your dashes?

A Zimmerman user with a brain, is far scarier than a Zimmerman user without one.
Besides, my whole build is based around the melees rather than the Zimmerman.
My fam, an ape rushing you down with nothing but dual zim and stun needles using the full power of 2 brain cells is what's meta. Using 1 in a gimmick instance on builds with much higher skill ceilings is pretty different considering there's actual risk involved vs the haha funi instant stun on top of fat dps from brainless spam

The problem of playing with the Scutum is not managing your ACS.

No, its not only that, Oro is literally BAD at utilizing shield. I can guarantee you shield beats every melee matchups, im using a perfect parry shield every time in pvp and the only thing im struggling if the player is really good at double zimmies and meele canceling, And a full tank tread build with coral shield, and i REALLY hate the PVP latency in this game despite having a good internet (when attacks its not physically and visually not in contact to your AC and still register the damage is so annoying, hell some of NPCs boss in the story mission is way better piloting their AC than any player, and way harder to face than any player, but i dodge 80% of their attacks and parry every attacks that is almost imposibble to dodge) .
Theres this person with this pulse blade, and zimmerman build (i forgot his name), He first baited me with his melee cancel so that i instinctively Dash sideways, and he keeps doing that and forcing me to initial guard shield so that he can overheat me. it was an epic fight, but i won at the end, and let me tell you he is way better than you bcs he knows how to wear me off by keeping my ACS strain even tho i Perfect parry all of his melee, but the thing is Shields counters melee build no matter what, believe my ive tried to find ppl and no matter how good they are if theyre facing ppl with a shield and they are REALLY GOOD at parrying and anticipating attacks theres nothing they can do, and dont forget they can assault boost to get away and use quick turn to maneuver and wait for the shield cooldown if they overused it.
to put it simply, its not that youre good (youre good at using melee but theres ppl that ive faced that far beyond that) its just that oro is so bad at using this build, hes so used to dashing and build laser lance double melee build and never got to experience the true power of a shield
Oh dont get me started about Quad-legs with shield, plasma thrower, bullet orbit, and zimmerman/pistol/ransetsu-RF, its just a nightmare to face with if youre close range
Note : please try using laser dagger bcs the damage potential is way higher than a pulse blade bcs it has 3 chain attacks, and its cooling is near instant, so you basically can chain attack 6 times in short amount of time 3 times as fast than any melee in the game, its lighter as well and youll be going faster
holy crap I made the SAME kind of build wild. I am using the coral blade and I am using BASHO frame with MIND BETA head. I am not even 10% as good at it as you. I am so glad to see someone can make it work. I use the coral generator to burst attack then run away and intentionally overload my generator to get 100% back instantly. I run massively under energy for a super high supply regen. One thing I tried to do rather than have a second blade is run a coral shield shoulder and a zimmer on the other shoulder. I can punch instead of a blade.

Coral Oscillator's basic slash (the non-charged long blade one) can be dashed out of as well, I am pretty certain of it. Your build seems more optimized for PVP stat wise, but again, it's all about the pilot's own skill!
I have a ton of practice with my build, so I know all it's nuances, which is what makes me lethal. Your build is alright, just needs some more practice!
