So I saw your video pop up hours after it's release but due to my schedule I had t stick it in the watch later section. I say all that to say if you view Warframe through an RPG class style lens there are a lot of under utilized gems in the game. Now what does all that have to do with Spectres and my style of play....? I use Dante as I like his versatility for various mission types (this could be done with several different frames. All with a great degree of efficiency and fun). II play him as a Summoner. There are several types of summoners including some others in game Nekros is a Necromancer, Atlas is a Geomancer, Khora is a Ranger Summoner etc. Even Dante has Pageflight and Word Warden. Most summons (not all) are buffed by the theorem infection arcane mentioned earlier. Yes some may scream that they have to use kitguns!!!! Ok. than don't play this style of summoner. it's up to you. For those who don't mind or even like Kitguns and zaws you may continue reading. I have several builds each configurations as a different type of summoner. Each have a very different playstyle and purpose. A few of them are a : Nuker (Dark verse focused get them charged with DOT and then bring the pain), Tank (Light verse focused) (yes I mean the actual style of a tank that draws aggro not the false definition of being durable) etc. I even have one that leans in heavily on the Arcane so that my companions are the main damage dealers. It's a beautiful thing when you have over 20 pets on the screen handling various roles and your job is to keep them up, buffed and ready to go. This is my personal favorite :: Side note RJC have specific functions and can use weapon arcanes such as Residual boils. Adding more elements and stronger pet buffs, I have a healer and a crit damage dealer as my top choices. ::. If anyone is interested I can give more info as this already long enough and I do have a baseline template that can be used in your own style. One final golden nugget to this style..... Every time DE introduces a new frame, companion, arcane, buff etc., you will feel like it is a direct buff to this playstyle. Till next time Tenno.
If you usually go for an army of specters, the Rhino Specter is great. Its requirements for casting Roar are peculiar, requiring 2-3 other specters online (can't remember how many), it's cast every 45 seconds for a 30 seconds Duration for 50% damage. But having a free Roar/primed Faction mod for most of the time is great, expecially if you don't subsume Roar as an Helminth and go for Xata's Whisper instead for example
You missed the air support from the Skaut which isn't a specter but fits since it summons Kahl's squad. Also the Nidus specter Ability strength bonus from parasitic link is multiplicative with your final moded strength. So it is easily the strongest strength buff if you already have high strength.
Another fun thing about specters, their armor scales with level too. This makes gara and frost a decent pick for defence because their bubbles get extremely strong. At high enough level they will outscale player bubbles.
Can confirm, my crew goon just has an ignis wraith and will just clear the room with it... And i don't even have the upgraded intrinsinc from railjack, just maxed combat and 4 health XD
Thanks! I can let you know in a comment :) In general any weapon with high base damage is best for the tenno specters as these don't use any of the mods equipped. So think shotguns, several AoE weapons like the Bramma Zarr and Tenet Envoy or Snipers/Bows. Same goes for secondary and melee. However, you can also use some weapons with added QoL like the Proboscis Cernos as I show in the vid. For any of the specters that do use equipped mods your choices are more flexible as you can increase the damage by alot through modding. In general though the direction high base damage and AoE capabilities will give the best results if you're looking for specters able to kill. Small side note is that any specter will never use alternate fire modes on equipped weapons which might disable some cool combos. Hope that answers your question!
In terms of weapons, I recommend the following: - Phantasma/Prime: Highest radiation proc chance for primary wepaons, so specters offers passive aggro CC that lasts for the entirety they're alive. Helps both your and their survivability. - Kuva Nukor: Same idea, highest radiation proc chance and rapid fire, offering the same passive aggro CC. - Vastilok: The melee's first shot has a knockback so specters can instantly go back to using their gun whenever enemy enters their melee range.
Suggestion for something to put in tenno specter melee slots: Nepheri. Tenno specters will spam the melee neutral combo when enemies get in melee range and Nepheri's neutral combo force procs slash and fires off 3 fireballs each combo that go out to 20 meters and force proc heat.
Shoutouts to this one guy I saw in the comments of a different specter video who said he uses excal umbra specters and when he summons them it's like umbra is helping him out
Your description of Wukongs twin was while technically true, still inadequate to describe how he actually works, because he will not just randomly choose a weapon from your arsenal. It is you that actually controls what weapon he uses, because he will always equip the last weapon that you had equipped. So if you want him to melee, equip your melee, then switch to primary or secondary, and your twin will equip melee. So if you changed to your secondary and changed back to melee, you'll see your twin is now using his secondary.
I am a big fan of the Pocket Wisp myself. Along with the mots, she also uses her Will-O-Wisp ability to reposition herself even with the "hold position" command (she then returns to that point afterwards). Will have to try a Pocket Liberian (Dante... love this frame)
My favourite specter is protea, you forgot: gives herself infinite ammo, turret has insane dmg even as spectre, some cc with slash granades, overall amazing imo
This video is fantastic! You are very concise and easily understood. Plus I really liked your editing style, especially your use of slo-mo close-ups on the frames; a very good looking video. And that lo-fi Skyrim music was a treat to include-chef's kiss. Subbed! EZ Also, you hinted at making a video about Liches and I would love to see it! But I would also like it if you included the special Railjack summons you can acquire from Fortuna (the ones from Lvl 10 Command intrinsics). Would love your recommendation on stats and special abilities!
@@Jealous_Oberon Will have a look! I'm still yet to unlock rank 10 intrinsics on some railjack things (don't tell anyone). But once I do and I investigate a bit I might do an extension video on specter weapons and these special crewmate abilities :)
Dante = Overgaurd Support Nidus = power strength and slight healing Volt = Crit Shield mult and barricade support Protea = dispenser and blaze artillery Octavia = passive energy regen Use a nataruk as bows will always usually hit and they aim for the head, secondaries are usually not good so use something with low ammo like the cantare and for the melee use a sword and shield for passive damage reduction if they block, or use something like a gun blade for a little knock back/rag doll?
The Stalker specter also has the surprising feature of being revivable when downed, with no time expiration. This was observed just after its release so it might be a bug and/or will be nerfed. And it was in open world.
About miscellaneous specters: there are also legendary ones that you can unlock with railjack intrinsics. Those have an additional bonus like crit damage on secondaries. I also think that galvanized mods don't work for them but I'm not sure if that's still the case
An important note is that specters, especially crew ones bypass damage attenuations on enemies. If a crewmember targets a lich for example they’ll shred them.
If you run 4 citrines with 4 citrine specters all of their preserving shells stack so you can get 99.999999% damage reduction before factoring things like armor or adaptation lol. Citrine specters only have a 5 second cooldown for this ability and cast it when they see enemies so it’s pretty much always up.
i am playing round about 5ooo h. steelpath endlessmissions and every day in the last yaer i try to find new cool funny builds. probably i was sleeping all the time on that spectres. TYVM Tenno
This is true... until it isn't. Because if you don't bring a melee, you can both use guns. He will use the primary regardless of what weapon you had equipped on summon and doesn't switch if you do (not until he runs out of ammo), but you can both shoot. I used this the other day to make him freeze everything with a Glaxion, while I could still shoot the frozen enemies with my secondary. Fun!
I wasn't aware of that trick, but in my experience the twin isn't bound by a ammo pool. He has always just kept shooting well past what I would have been able to. Just equip him the Brahma and turn him loose, he never stops loosing arrows. @@se7enhaender
For a sec I thought I was the only one to catch the oversight. Had to go down a ways to find your comment stating what I just reposted I guess. Seems not many ppl understand that weapon changingmechanic very well.
I have to criticize you in not mentioning Khal and his Skaut landing craft. The air support ability of that one summons Khal and his squad to aid you, when you use the Air Support Charge. They stick around for 5 min and there are quite a few of them, you can also reuse the Air Support Charge (remember they are disposable items) to heal them and reset the duration, alternative, if you have the Railjack intrinsic that reduce the air support recharge time, you can resummon them when the 5 min duration is up, setting their level to the current enemies level. Khal himself uses a Gratler who hits way harder then it has any right to, and among the quad there is a shield drone who might, maybe, probably will show up and support the whole squad and you. Oh, and you can get a 100x air support charge BP and it take 1 min to craft, and is fairly cheap to make, requiring only materials you tend to stock up on.
in my opinion the most broken tactic is to use the operator/drifter + excalibur umbra. With that you can 'duck' and be invisible and invincible as long as your energy allow to be (usually long enough to sneak from corner to corner) and you can stay hidden while hacking systems. Umbra in the other hand is following you and killing traps and enemies without causing alarms 👍 Operator is mostly forgotten by people, but is so much OP when cared and upgraded
So something to note os that while the On call crew is summoned like a specter they are considered a pet. I noticed they share any life steal effects from certian wepons if they have them, healing , ect. I put my Incarnon Furis (with the new loka lifesteal mod) on one and they healed me to full and kept me healed and all my specters alive (this mission i summoned ALL OF THEM becuase army is funny. Gara Specters are also pretty solid for a specter type and while it doesnt lost it on the Wiki I notice they prefer to be between you and an defense objective or operative when one is avaliable. They will actively move out to collect ammo if needed but will prefer to sit still for a much longer period of time then any other specter of thier own volition. Thier wall also scales with level meaning thier wall lasts a very long time. Specters summon by a Nyx seem to do more damage but as I always make it a point to mind control something it seems to be a bug they share the Mind Control damage. They also prefer to sit around a Nyx and those who do fight independently I notice teleport or stay near her. Nyx is really good with specters even in nightmare as you can mind control them or control the Specter Spawned by Sisters which do have your loadout and looks with increased stats. Effcictly making a duplicate of you just stronger that you make stronger.
Oh Right Nyx Specters Cast all thier abilities. And Again doesnt say it on the wiki unless you watch them. And when they cast Mind Control the actively target thier Mind Control Target for the duration of the Dmg Build Up. Meaning theu buff thier own Mind Control targets. Which the Specter spawned by a sister is a Nyx will cast it on a player. Which just prevents that player from attacking the lick or corpus. But should that Sister Specter be Mind Controlled, the Mind Controlled PLayer and that Nyx's will be switched back to freindly and allowed to attack normally with increased damage. Should both Nyx's Control each other at the same time thier teams become neutral and incinivble with you seeing yours and the other Nyx's buff on you if you are playing that Nyx. Something to note is that the Sister Nyx Specter's Mindcontrol will always outlast thier spawn period so when they do dissappear it doesnt effect you unless you are rhino and cast Iron skin then it will instant kill you becuase you end up taking somehtnig around 10mil+ Radiaon damage breaking the Gates outright.
I'm surprised they haven't disabled specters for Elite Deep Archimedea. They can completely trivialize so many of the restrictions that would otherwise be an actual challenge to deal with. On the one hand, less frustrating mirror defense is nice, but it is also refreshing to finally have a (sometimes) genuinely challenging gamemode.
Rivens do work (but only with Railjack still it seems). What doesn't also work are most arcanes. Only bonuses on arcanes like reload speed tend to function. This is the same with Equinox and Wukong for instance.
Totally off-topic to the video but I like the green colour scheme you have put into your game UI. Any chance of me getting a copy how you set that up? I really want it that way too!
Do the spectre use the mods loadout you had on when imprinting them? Like if i made a loadout with a rhino having max ability strength would that affect the spectre roar compared to if i imprinted a rhino with no mods equipped

The most hilarious thing about the stalker specter is that he has the stalkers drop table and rapidly spawning him in nightmare missions will drop so much. This exploit will probably be fixed soon enough and also might get you banned.

The railjack crewmate is so incredibly busted. I swear my guns do more damage in his hands than they do in mine because this dude can fucking one-shot Acolytes and then go "Killed the enemy! ... sorry...". The NERVE!
Do you happen to know what causes specters to randomly spawn sometimes in missions? This is rather rare, but I’ve definitely notices an uptick of this happening ever since crossplay was introduced, but I only ever really see them in endless missions or even sometimes in sanctum. This includes deep arch despite the no gear wheel modifier (including solo), and for the lore of me I’ve only ever run into a few people that have seen this happen. Usually it spawns a Dante specter with random weapons, but I’ve seen a few oberons and mag specters too, and I think it might be cause by some networking thing when Xbox consoles host, but I thought I’d ask if you knew anything.
So like, yea Dante overguard would be the obvious choice but it's not like you can control it so it's actually just topping up your overguard. Dante has a lot of skills to be able to use. How do you coax overguard out of a specter reliably?

This is my personal favorite
:: Side note RJC have specific functions and can use weapon arcanes such as Residual boils.
@@KhristianBolano Good tip!
You missed the air support from the Skaut which isn't a specter but fits since it summons Kahl's squad.
Also the Nidus specter Ability strength bonus from parasitic link is multiplicative with your final moded strength. So it is easily the strongest strength buff if you already have high strength.
Thanks for pointing these out!
Apart from Nidus link buff, Dante is my go-to specter for difficult missions. He constantly gives free overguard. S-tier specter.
Another fun thing about specters, their armor scales with level too. This makes gara and frost a decent pick for defence because their bubbles get extremely strong. At high enough level they will outscale player bubbles.
2:15 being really smooth, i'll sub
Fun fact: using specters (and more important, Railjack's crew members) on a Deep Archimedia mission, the specters will (most likely) trivialize it.
Can confirm, my crew goon just has an ignis wraith and will just clear the room with it... And i don't even have the upgraded intrinsinc from railjack, just maxed combat and 4 health XD
Be me with 100 crafted specters
Only try to cast them in no gear allowed missions
you should make a list on specter weapon load outs . I would like to know what the best weapons to equip on specters . great video .
Thanks! I can let you know in a comment :)
In general any weapon with high base damage is best for the tenno specters as these don't use any of the mods equipped.
In terms of weapons, I recommend the following:
- Phantasma/Prime: Highest radiation proc chance for primary wepaons, so specters offers passive aggro CC that lasts for the entirety they're alive.
1 I've found that is nice is amprex or similar chaining weapons as they can not only get decent kills but also stat primes
Suggestion for something to put in tenno specter melee slots: Nepheri. Tenno specters will spam the melee neutral combo when enemies get in melee range and Nepheri's neutral combo force procs slash and fires off 3 fireballs each combo that go out to 20 meters and force proc heat.
The Styanax specter's Rally Point casting uptime is great. It's like an energy pizza except he also shoots people.
Shoutouts to this one guy I saw in the comments of a different specter video who said he uses excal umbra specters and when he summons them it's like umbra is helping him out
This is the kind ofvideo a lot of people needed ❤
Ive been using specters religiously, and am glad to see a video talking about it ❤
Your description of Wukongs twin was while technically true, still inadequate to describe how he actually works, because he will not just randomly choose a weapon from your arsenal.
Great video it's insane how under-utilized these guys are I haven't even touched warframe spectres I want to make a Wisp one now !
Very insightful, thanks my dude
Any time!
@@Frozen_Hope good points!
Informative, concise. Thank you.
This video is fantastic! You are very concise and easily understood. Plus I really liked your editing style, especially your use of slo-mo close-ups on the frames; a very good looking video. And that lo-fi Skyrim music was a treat to include-chef's kiss. Subbed! EZ
Also, you hinted at making a video about Liches and I would love to see it!
But once I do and I investigate a bit I might do an extension video on specter weapons and these special crewmate abilities :)
i love enter a mission, summon the tripulation, summon a specter and call the grineers/corpus of the camp, then the party starts
Dante = Overgaurd Support
Nidus = power strength and slight healing
Volt = Crit Shield mult and barricade support
Protea = dispenser and blaze artillery
Octavia = passive energy regen
Use a nataruk as bows will always usually hit and they aim for the head, secondaries are usually not good so use something with low ammo like the cantare and for the melee use a sword and shield for passive damage reduction if they block, or use something like a gun blade for a little knock back/rag doll?
The Stalker specter also has the surprising feature of being revivable when downed, with no time expiration. This was observed just after its release so it might be a bug and/or will be nerfed. And it was in open world.
Finally someone pointed out Dante specter...
Love the lofi skyrim hits homie
Pretty good video, I use Crew call a lot, And I thing you forgot the Air support dron Kahl, that summons up to 4 allies
About miscellaneous specters: there are also legendary ones that you can unlock with railjack intrinsics. Those have an additional bonus like crit damage on secondaries. I also think that galvanized mods don't work for them but I'm not sure if that's still the case
I love my little Kahl of Duty squad. I like the silly names they get.
I liked that spectre joke 😆
Gained a sub
An important note is that specters, especially crew ones bypass damage attenuations on enemies. If a crewmember targets a lich for example they’ll shred them.
If you run 4 citrines with 4 citrine specters all of their preserving shells stack so you can get 99.999999% damage reduction before factoring things like armor or adaptation lol. Citrine specters only have a 5 second cooldown for this ability and cast it when they see enemies so it’s pretty much always up.
trinity is also an amazing pick, she constantly uses blessing which can easily carry many defense objectives
Great info got another SUB
i am playing round about 5ooo h. steelpath endlessmissions and every day in the last yaer i try to find new cool funny builds. probably i was sleeping all the time on that spectres. TYVM Tenno
Wukong clone uses the opposite weapon of you when all available. If you melee it shoots the weapon you last had. If you shoot it melees
Fun!
@@se7enhaender VERY TRUE. Zarr plus nukor as the prinary goes crazy
Edit:grammar
I wasn't aware of that trick, but in my experience the twin isn't bound by a ammo pool. He has always just kept shooting well past what I would have been able to. Just equip him the Brahma and turn him loose, he never stops loosing arrows. @@se7enhaender
For a sec I thought I was the only one to catch the oversight. Had to go down a ways to find your comment stating what I just reposted I guess. Seems not many ppl understand that weapon changingmechanic very well.
You forgot the kahl bros
I've never actually used specters. Dante will serve me well
in my opinion the most broken tactic is to use the operator/drifter + excalibur umbra.
With that you can 'duck' and be invisible and invincible as long as your energy allow to be (usually long enough to sneak from corner to corner) and you can stay hidden while hacking systems.
Umbra in the other hand is following you and killing traps and enemies without causing alarms 👍
Operator is mostly forgotten by people, but is so much OP when cared and upgraded
Interesting! :) Thanks for the comment
Полезная информация. Специально для обороны сделаю билд через этот мод.
Liches are very good as defenders too. Waiting for your vid on it
Anotger random specter you missed was the Ballistica Prime passive which makes ghost specters of anyone you killed for a few seconds
subbed for the 4th specter joke being us
There's also a Khal Squad of specters summoned by an air support.
@@GhostCorvid20 The boss fight was actually challenging in the first week it came out, miss that ome tbh
There are people that cry if they have to put effort on a boss fight in DE without their meta loadout. Blame them

Crewmates don't use all mods. Galvanized mods (at least the kill effects) and rivens dont work I'm pretty sure.
Idk about rivens, but you're right about the Galvanized mods, ty for pointing out :)
Rivens do work (but only with Railjack still it seems). What doesn't also work are most arcanes. Only bonuses on arcanes like reload speed tend to function. This is the same with Equinox and Wukong for instance.

@@Super787B Very odd! If you also see this happening solo I'd have no idea what's going on
