you probably dont care but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can watch all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been watching with my brother these days =)

My kids love harp very much. I think they can learn it one day:) it is such a beautiful instrument. The music is like the flowing water, gradually into heart.
Oh how beautiful! I'm excited because I'm getting a 19 string lap harp here very soon! I can't wait to learn it's my first harp! I've been binge watching your videos like crazy. I realise that since it has a small range I'll have to do some arranging, but it'll give me some practice for arranging and composing!
@@celestinac1105 Thank you! I've been doing really well! It has been tricky finding good arrangements for a small amount of strings, but it has been fun making my own arrangements.
I will! I love instruments! I'm currently learning the guitar and piano. Next thing hopefuly will be the harp 😊. But the first thing i've ever done is singing so everything else follows from this gift. I love your energy. If i'd start harp lessons, i would probably learn from you. 🤗💖
Wonderful song and you played it in perfect surounding!! ;-)) - I have to learn it again with your video lesson. I do LOVE all of them. I would love to play that on a field like you did, also. But no chance. We have only small field, but a lot of mountains, hahhha🥰
@@LearningtheHarp thanks! I found one on Etsy 3.5” so I bought it. Apparently I ended up on your new website early and was able to navigate and fill out my profile, add photos etc! Oops. It just happened! I’m so excited for tomorrow.
Hi there, This was so beautiful and I love your videos. I’m looking to get a harp to accompany singing.. I hope you respond! I can play chords on the piano and guitar and am curious to buy a harp and have always wanted to learn but I am having trouble understanding where the placement of each chord is if there are no « black notes » like on a piano. I’m sorry if this question is super oblivious sounding but for example - how do I play a minor or D which requires the black keys on the piano of a harp or smaller harp only goes cdefgabc and so forth? Thank you! It would be super awesome for you to make a video of chords going from c d dminor e eminor f g a aminor b b minor and so forth but I’d gladly settle for a written response! Thanks!!
I’m not Christy-Lyn, but I’ll do my best to answer your question. (If you’re still wondering after 3years) The levers on a harp sharp the string when flipped up, which makes flats impossible in the key of C. Because of that, many harpists tune their harp in Eb major so the Es, As, and Bs are tuned to Eb, Ab, and Bb. Then when the lever is flipped up it becomes a natural. That way you can get to pretty much all the “black notes”. I hope that makes sense! Feel free to reply with any questions. 😁
Dear Christy-Lyn. I'm waiting for my first harp to arrive so I don't need the information I'm asking for at the moment, but..... how do you understand you have to play a glissando looking at the sheet?
Hi Michela. Very exciting!! I can imagine you must be feeling so ready to start! A glissando is indicated in sheet music by a straight or wavy diagonal line, going from the lowest note to the highest note you will play... approximately. Unless they specifically indicate a starting or finishing note, you don’t have to stick exactly to the range indicated. Try googling the word “glissando” and you will see images of what it looks like 😊
@@LearningtheHarp thank you so much for your answer... You're right i'm very ecxited. Harp sounds like the music of Heaven. And i must say, your video about buying a harp has been my guide for the choice. Helpful indeed for me completely ignorant about harps. Be blessed and blessed be your beautiful work on youtube and everywhere else.
This is so pretty, Christy-Lyn!! Quick question (really a follow-up to one of my previous questions). I have a couple of L&H pedal-tension lever harps, and I'm thinking about getting a Harpsicle SE as my next harp. I know you have a L&H 2000, an Ogden (which I understand is basically pedal tension), and now your Harpsicle. Was your Harpsicle your first non-pedal-tension harp? I know the difference in spacing and tension will be considerable if I get a Harpsicle. I'm wondering if I should first get something in-between like a Dusty Strings Ravenna to ease into getting used to a lighter tension and possibly a little narrower spacing. However, if you went directly from playing only pedal-tension harps to getting your Harpsicle and liking it, then getting used to the drastic differences must not be so bad!
There is certainly a drastic difference in the tension, and I feel like I have to switch gears for a moment when I move between the Harpsicle and my other harps. It’s kind of like driving two very different cars. I don’t think it would necessarily be helpful to have an in-between to get you used to it. But it will be easier to switch between two harps that are more similar. Since I can see you are a man, I thought I would mention that I have heard of some men struggling to play harps with narrow spacing like the Harpsicle, because of larger fingers. So see if you can try one before you decide to buy!
@@LearningtheHarp My hands are actually fairly small with short, little fingers, so I bet that won't be too big of a deal for me. Thanks for the heads - up, though! And, regarding one of my other questions, thank you for the tip to push my palm towards the column when accidentally grazing strings that are adjacent to what I intend to pluck; that does seem to help a little!
Sometimes I actually prefer the simpler arrangements. This was beautiful and worked perfectly.
Yes, sometimes adding notes subtractes from the music.
Yes let's the harp ring out
i ordered a harp cuz of watching you're videos

Hi Christy-Lyn, I’m trying to find this strap. I think I found one on Etsy but I was wondering how wide yours is. Is it 3” or 4”?
Hi Sharon! It’s my Dad’s leather guitar strap. Probably about 3 inches, I don’t have it anymore I just borrowed it for the video ☺️

She is using a special edition Rees Fullsicle Harp harpsicleharps.com/special-edition-fullsicle-harp
Hi Christy-Lyn! Where did you get your harp strap?
Why has the option only dislike or share? There no like option , but it's beautiful thanks
Hi!!! I am sorry I am late to the video but I saw your harp and had to watch. I was wondering where you got your harp from?
She got it from Rees harps, specifically she has a deluxe fullsicle
It’s a special Edition Fullsicle in cherry wood.
Do you have this notated? I find popular tunes for my 22 string harp hard to come by!!!
Yes! Link for the sheet music is in the description box 😊
