I'm 100% certain that this fiasco with the controls is Arin's fault, considering that they're playing on Arin's computer and Danny wouldn't know an emulator from an emu.
This is the worst series ever. *Nothing works.* It's wonderful.
I had a Commodore 64 and this emulator is true to life. The Bruce Lee game took roughly 10 minutes to load.

Dan, this is awesome. This literally was the first game I ever played at my mom’s friend’s son’s house way back in ‘86 when I was 4. Heavy memories for this game.
I LOVED this game as a kid! So glad to finally remember the title and see it again!

God, I remember trying to get emulators for old systems to work back in the day. I feel their pain. I remember one where up made you walk right, but left, down, and up did nothing. To walk left you hit 'a', to jump you hit 'e', and space was crouch. And then you fired with alt. You could pause the game with return, but doing so *also* fired your weapon. And since only one bullet could be on screen at once, accidentally pausing was dangerous. Then there were a bunch of other games with I mostly didn't bother with because you can only waste your time on random-ass controls so many times.
The game itself is fun, just wish they had at least configured the controls and had the emulator working proper before starting recording
When you're at work and your head phones come slightly unplugged and everyone hears, "you get that from the dead guy" as you scramble to plug them back in.... it feels like the eyes of my coworkers are a thousand desert sun's burning into me..... thanks guys, love you!!!!

They confirmed my childhood. This is exactly what it was like. Long loading times and I didn't know what to do. I use GG as a podcast so it doesn't matter what they do on-screen.

You can change the direction that the white lines are moving during the loading screen with your mind. Try it
All you gotta do is turn your head or your phone/television/computer left and right! It really works!
I've accomplished this feat by turning off the rotation setting and flipping my phone around.
I'm pretty confident the lines just move in both directions.

Seeing those loading screens reminds me of watching old VHS tapes as a kid waiting for the movie/TV show to come on.
I like what they are doing with premiere, but what I think there doing in general is there going to keep the game grumps series like episodes the same and on the normal time of 10-15+ mins and no premiere, but make one off game episodes be a premiere video and also stretching it longer from 10-15+ to 15-20+

What?! First Mail Order Monsters and now Movie Monsters. The last two days has basically been "Dan plays my favorite C64 games from when I was a kid"
I didn't get to play C64 games because I was born in the late 80s. But I do love watching people play them. Especially someone who played the games as a kid, because it just makes sense to them. It's especially fun to watch Dan play these kind of games =)

Currently re-watching the Grump's playthrough of Bloodborne. Arin killing it with the gameplay, Dan just slaying with commentary, both of them hilarious and super enjoyable to watch.

Meh. If they are happy, I'm glad they are having fun. I just don't, personally, take as much enjoyment from it. I definitely don't begrudge them a good time, and any other fans that enjoy it, I'm glad you are digging it. But personally, I can't wait to see the next playthroughs that engage us on more relatable levels.

Yep, it's just a normal grumps video but we get to chat live with Arin and Dan.
Basically, due to a new feature, they now have the option to "Premiere." their content. This gives a live chat for the first hour after the content is uploaded so users.

Erick Butt Since when has patience been necessary to watch a video uploaded on UA-cam? The whole UA-cam culture is based on being able to get the content you want, when you want it. I literally didnt know UA-cam had created/invented a thing that let you click a UA-cam video and have it be nothing for several minutes before the content started, with limited ability to skip ahead. IMO this is contrary to the logic any basic UA-cam user would expect, it sure surprised me!

This game is honestly a masterpiece for the time it came out. I wish it had more comfy controls and been more fast paced. If there's any sort of fan remake let me know, and let GG know, it would be awesome seeing Dan having even more fun with this nostalgic game

Just set up the emulator controls BEFORE THE EPISODE STARTS. Not only is Arin bad at video games, but technology too!
Knowing Arin it prompted him to set up the key bindings like every single emulator and he just randomly pressed buttons because he cant be bothered to read anything. Naturally he blamed this on the emulator and not himself.
The c64 has a fucked up interface anyways who wants to enter command prompts and wait 7 years for it to load just to play a game
