Hi Everyone, We hope you enjoyed our video! What did you think about these awesome small campers UNDER 5,000lbs GVWR? Do you prefer a travel trailer, motorhome or 5th wheel? Please say hello by leaving a comment below and sharing your opinion about these RV floor plans.
Hi Mike y Susan. Oliver hands down and for the long haul. No slide to fail like the first two (which chews into cargo carrying). But…that Sylvan you showed last week was something unique. Thanks for the reviews-Merry Christmas.
You're welcome! Have to agree with you for both TT. Love fiberglass! And the Vast was such a cool floor plan. Thank you so much for your support. Merry Christmas to you as well!
Nice overview as always you two! Love these smaller layouts with bunks. Just wish theu had duel axle as i think two axles may towing better. Anyone agree?
I agree a dual axle TT is better for towing. It's a little harder to find them in a small camper. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Agree to both, but... The MSRP (which is negotiable) may seem a bit high but that's in comparison to stick and tin TT. Though fiberglass campers aren't for everyone there is a better value in them than their competition. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
That's great because we shot video of the Elite II also. Coming soon! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Love seeing the smaller trailers, thanks for this type of content. I like the Forest River the best but I can see the value of the Oliver if you plan to resale or want it to last 10+ years.
You're welcome. We agree the FR had many great features but fiberglass hold so much value and less chance of leaks. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Mike and Susan, love the idea of giving a few ideas for truck specifics. Would love to see your ideas on large SUVs. People forget they are primarily just 1/2 ton pickup trucks. I've seen people pull 23ft Airstreams on the back of a Ford Expedition but for me I'd be overweight with a payload of 1405lbs
I would love to do that but we really don't consider ourselves experts about tow vehicles. We just focus on what we know - RVs. But there are tons of videos about best pickup trucks or best SUVs from very good sources. Thanks for watching and for the suggestion! Mike
In the Oliver Legacy, they should remove the small dinette, put kitchen in its place and then extend the couches to make two twin beds by night and a large dinette by day.
Hi Mike and Susan! I like both the Forest River and the Oliver. Both are very nice. I like the convention microwave/ fryer. That’s pretty cool! They both have nice storage.. They are both small. That’s good! I like small and sometimes bigger TVs. But these are nice size. Thank Mike and Susan! Are you getting ready for Christmas? I am. I’m almost done shopping. I’ll be done this week and weekend. Hope you have a great week see you soon! Safe travels.
Hi Sherri! We love to see how smaller campers manage to include everything in a limited space. Glad you liked the FR and Oliver. We are excited for the holidays too! We are grateful to be able to spend them with our family. Not finished shopping yet, unfortunately! 🥴 But I did get all the Christmas pjs washed...now it's Mike's turn to wrap! 🤣 Hope you have a great week too!
I’m almost done with my shopping just need to get my friends gifts which is only 4 to get. It will be dint next week. It’s good and fun to spend time with family.
@@sherriweber7105 I can't believe Christmas is only 8 days away!!!! We are pretty ready and looking forward to it! We hope you have a very Merry Christmas! Mike and Susan
I spoke too quickly! After seeing the Forest River, That would 'Definitely' be my choice, love the int colors, seats 4, grandkids have bunks, and the ext kit, it even has a Pantry! Would add an extender kit counter, and hooks for the int bath door. ♥️👏. .. The Oliver, love the Fiberglass insulation, but don't like Wet Baths...
🤣 No worries, we love as many comments as we can get! The FR Flagstaff is definitely the better floor plan. Love the storage and that bathroom sink!!! Thanks Barbara.
I have lost a few lbs but sadly I've gained a few over the Thanksgiving holiday and visiting friends and family while we are home. It's much easier for me to stay focused on eating right and exercising while we are on the road. Good thing we hit the road soon! lol! Thanks for the comment! Mike
They are hard to find everywhere. You typically won't find them at RV dealerships so I would call the manufacturers because many of their customers will show off their rigs if you want to see one.
@@RVBlogger As a solo traveler, the Oliver would be my choice: keeping the bed permanent would give tote storage under the table and still leave enough room for a 12 volt fridge/freezer to compensate the tiny fridge.
That is MSRP and no one should pay MSRP. I'm seeing sales prices around $25k. It's a buyers market now. People must negotiate. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Hey Mike. Please review the jumping jack trailer. It is a unique tent trailer that is very rugged and able to carry four wheelers on the top when collapsed for travel. Thanks. Kristen Larsen, Pocatello Idaho. We love your show
Mind blown 🤯! We are going to be in Utah in 2025. Putting Jumping Jack Trailer on our list for sure. Thank you so much for the suggestion. We appreciate your support Kristen!
IMO the Oliver needs to be 2 foot longer in order to have twin beds. I also think that there should be no sink in the bathroom giving you more room to shower
Not the best CCC. I think a lot of the weight went into construction leaving little room for CCC. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
These RVs are all too heavy for a Tacoma to pull in a practical sense. I have a 2023 Tacoma that I use to pull a horse trailer. With my horse loaded and all my tack and gear loaded up its about 4000 pounds. Sure the truck will pull it, but there is just not enough power to do it with the ease and enjoyability you would want on a long vacation trip. There is just not enough power. If you're going to use a Tacoma to comfortable pull an RV I think keep the loaded weight under 2500 pounds and the RV built aerodynamically to cut wind drag. There are some RVs I've seen on UA-cam recently that fit that criteria. If you need an RV with more room get a bigger, more powerful truck.
Which Tacoma do you have? I have a 2015 with the V-6 and tow package and it is rated to tow 6500 lbs. And it can! Plus I have seen lots of videos where they test the Tacomas tow capacity. Toyota makes a bunch of different models with differing features so just because your Tacoma can't handle the weight does not mean that other Tacomas can't. Your experience may not apply to everyone. Thanks for watching and commenting. Mike
@@RVBlogger Mine is a V-6, 276 hp, with a towing capacity of 6800 lbs. Just because it is rated for 6800 lbs. does not mean it will perform well from a driving point of view under that much load. It means the transmission is rated to hold up under that amount of weight. That is not what I'm talking about. From a driving point of view and considering handling, acceleration, hill climbing, and speed maintenance the V6 Tacoma under 4000 lbs. of load just does not perform as leisurely and as enjoyably as a truck with 350 or 400 hp would. If you're going to be driving a Tacoma under 4000 lbs. of load in hilly or mountainous terrain especially, I don't think you're going to be happy with it.
@@stephenbush7200 That could be true but I have seen numerous videos with people hauling 6500 lbs and testing the Tacoma going up steep inclines and the whole nine yards. But I'll defer to your judgment because I don't tow an RV with my Tacoma, and you do. Thanks for the input! Mike

Just remember we only show MSRP which you should never ever pay! It's a buyers market so you canb expect to negotiate 35 to 40% off the MSRP. Thanks for watching! Mike
I don't like the Oliver at all, in spite of its resale value. I think the finishes are ugly, there is no storage, and the bathroom is like you are on a submarine. And 2 dinettes??? Ridiculous. That outdoor "table" is more like a shelf to perhaps hold a beverage. I suppose the Forest River was the best of this lot, but the way they converted so much storage to those tiny drawers really wastes a lot of space.
Very fair review. Fiberglass is an awesome TT material but it does limit storage and no slide outs for added living space. The FR Flagstaff had a lot of great features like bunk storage and bathroom sink. I thought the pantry had great storage. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.
