Cap, please consider turning off your rotating beacon when flying the KA-50.
One important notice: when you see shkval level indicators are flashing that means the target or impact point in this case is outside shkvals visual envelope.
Not Download Ingress but Datalink Ingress.
And do NOT use weapons arm switch, that switch is for jettison only, when it is up bombs explode when jettisoned and when down they drop unarmed when jettisoned, when dropping them in combat (not jettisoning) they always go down armed regardless of the switch.
The ATGM knob switch in the "PPK-800 Systems Preparation and Check Panel" is not functional according to the manual.

The ka-50 is fun AND VERY easy to learn. The only hurdle is understanding the Trim system. It took me about two days to learn the helicopter. Happy flying! o7
Jumped in my Ka-50 recently and noticed my moving map does not show water, it colors it the same as the terrain. Anyone else see this?
Can confirm, I have had the same issue. It's pretty annoying and right now I cannot offer a solution for it (tbh I haven't really been looking either).

Bombing HUD/Shkval modes was not introduced in the feature list at the very beginning of the DCS BS project, end of argument.
how is your cockpit in english instead of russian? it's so hard to follow the ingame tutorials when everything is in a different language

In ADDITION to that video, there is also the avionics language under Gameplay tab. By default it is set to naitive. You must set this to english as well. I was wondering why my ka-50 cockpit was in english from setting the special cockpit language, and then found the avionics language under gameplay.

Try to do that with active AA defenses around and you'll be toast well before you can drop.
Helicopters make for appalling bombers.
Also, 1000 meters isn't high altitude... just saying.
Buddyspike servers have bunkers that u need to take down to capture bases.. u can use strike aircraft.. but good to have a vikhrs bomb combo to take down enemy farps solo and take down those bunkers with fab 500s

@@Destroyedearth right at the beginning the SA-TLK switch on the radio power panel is non-functional. It has nothing to do with the datalink functioning.
I also happen to know via a more recent video that Cap really doesn’t care for the Ka-50.
I agree, Casmo and Volk are the channels to watch for Ka-50 / helis for sure. It’s not super helpful for someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing to fumble through things usually. Datalink TX and RX can be explained in a basic manner in a 3-4 minute video by someone who is competent. In 8 minutes you should know it’s limits and finer details.
@@Destroyedearth I mean he just stumbles through the process, relying on some other guys that actually knows how to do it. His training videos are comprehensive, that's great, but the quality could be better...
