Chi is the best petite stylist ever! She has that rare, objective eye that can assess what does and doesn’t work. It’s hard to beat her great styling tips, even for those who aren’t short or made small. I really love silk neck-scarves, too, they do draw the eye up to the face and are great for tying together outfits of a two or three plain, solid colors. They add color, pattern, softness, elegance and femininity, and are very French-style. French women really know how to style themselves well. I think many of us Americans have unfortunately been told to hide “figure flaws”, like a round tummy, “big bottom”, thighs, etc. with big tent-like clothes. Don’t do this, show your beautiful shape! If you’re female, you have already have a great shape! I was complaining about my proportionately thicker waist (compared to my really narrow hips, size about 4 hips, 8 waist), in a shop the other day and the assistant said “wear a peplum top that flares out from just under the bust”. That’s the worst advice I ever heard, I don’t want to hide my waist, I just wanted a pair that of shorts that fit both at the waist and the hips, for once. Don’t listen to people like her that don’t have a clue, stick with our Chi!

This petite completely agrees - short tops always! Or, completely tucked in, showing the waist is the key. I don’t always wear long bottoms, though, I like mini-skirts and dresses a lot. I also wear comfy, mid-heeled footwear. Wedges give height, too, but there’s something much more lengthening and flattering about seeing some daylight under the arch of the foot. I can only wear heels up to about 2.5 inches high, but they make all the difference. For the first time in my life, mid-heeled, comfortable shoes are finally widely available, thank goodness. I’m 64 and until the pandemic the choice was only between high heels (3 inches and up), which I can’t wear, or complete flats, which I don’t like. I only wear sneakers if I must, I just don’t really the way I look in them in my skirt outfits and dresses, which I wear most days year-round. I just think they are ten times more comfortable than any divided bottom (trousers, shorts), I’m both very high-, and somewhat thick-, waisted as a rectangle shape and they always, always ride up, I hate that.

Thanks for another informative video and style reminder. The jeans at minute 5:10 are very attractive. You’ve styled them in at least one other video, but they are not in your online shop. Would you please provide the name of the designer/brand? Thanks!

I’m long bodied and short legged at 5’4”. I find doing the opposite for that fact. I agree that one piece is more flattering but I found if I wear pieces that blend I get the same effect. Again, it’s due to my long body and long arms.
I do prefer my straight leg and flare jeans that fit at my waist.

Well...Im short waisted so I always try to wear a longer top to bring the eye down to make it seem my waist is longer.
Am petite also. Just don't want to make it too long, because it's overwhelming. Stuck a little bit in the middle.
The rest of this I totally agree with.

I love a small to medium sized leather shoulder bag, but they’re so hard to find these days. Almost all bags now are cross-body, a style I hate. The straps are so long that the bags almost reach my knees! They bang around my legs and can be too-easily stolen. The much thinner X-body strap, worn cross-body, cuts into the tender skin between my neck and shoulder, too. They also crumple my summer linen outfits. I’m always taking them into the cobblers to shorten the straps, which is expensive, or, if possible, replacing them with shorter, metallic chains from Amazon. It’s not that I love chain straps so much, it’s that it’s too hard to match leather colors, except for a few blacks. The 31-inch straps are good, they give a much-more proportionate drop of 15.5 inches. At this length, the bag tucks securely against the indent of my waist, and is protected by my arm over it.

Very good advice for women below average height. I did go to your website where you feature lovely clothing. I take a size 000 Petite or a small running XXSP. You, of course, cater to heavier women with petite frames. I wish you had clothing for those of us who are slim and petite, although, I know, the money is where the extra weight seems to be.

Thank u for the video! I am 5'3" 115lbs. My preference is to look for cropped or specifically petite labeled tops / bottoms. Cropped jeans/pants can look great with the right shoes. I avoid 3/4 sleeves because i dont like how choppy my arms look when i wear bracelets , I prefer V-necks and avoid large dangling earrings to elongated my neck. Just my preference

Thnx chi it's always gud to watch ur vdos ❤...
Though sm style suggestions from u r not functional for me😮 as in single piece dress (I luk literally pregnant 😂 due to extreme tummy protrusion😅)
Even wide leg pants or jeans r least flattering on me.. Slightly tapered jeans or pants wrk grt on my shape ❤ (may b i hv unique body shape 🤩)
Be Blessed Be Happy n Be Loved Always ❤😘🤗🥰🧚🦄🌈🧿

@@neelams6828 I like long sleeves for jackets and coats in the winter, so you only can see the fingers. You save gloves like that very often. If it is longer: Go to the tailor. Sometimes ist is nice to show your petiteness.

In my country it's only possible to wear a jacket in winter. How do you go about wearing a jacket then as it's too cold to roll up the sleeves.

Disagree with the large bag (it's multi-use for me, book, computer, tissues, plus, plus, plus, etc.,.) The thing with the large bag is to get one that is not too large. Agree with the cross body bag - I shorten the strap to my body and I use it along with my larger or backpack because I live in the city and do a lot of walking and commuting for work and shopping. (I use cross body because for safety and theft protection -it's easy to have it grabbed from the shoulder than when worn across the body.)
