I love watching how others played missions I've played. This is still my all time favorite mission ever and I'm a gaming grandma so that's saying something.....I've played ME2 so many times just to get here and play it again!!
Shepard is without a doubt the best of the best! And I see no reason how he could possibly die in ME3. I swear if that rumored ME4 doesn't have Shepard, then what are we doing?! The the guy just never dies. The last time he did he didn't even stay dead! NO I was necromanced back to life!
Too bad greed, idiocy, and politics messed up ME3, shame really. ME went from a cool space opera action RPG, to then the greatest game of all time in the genre, with amazing story and char. devlpmnt, player engagement, and dark blade-runner like atmosphere, to a rushed, half-thought, pointless, soulless game, filled with plot holes, questionable marketing, woke appeasing, hot pile of mess put together in a very lazy way. Casey Hudson must be ashamed and Drew Karpinshin must be really disappointed.
And I thought Andromeda would be a redemption story for the series, instead it was a rushed badly put together game. The story was lacking and the content was sub-par for the legacy of ME. Still I found it a good, fun game nonetheless.
It really holds up through all of these years. Every single choice you made in the game comes to a head in this mission. From the ship upgrades, to the companion missions, to who you choose to bring on your final team. An absolute master class on game and character design. I miss this bioware a lot.
A hard ending to get, not for being hard in of itself when it comes to combat (unless you're on insanity difficulty), but because of how much grinding and preparation you need for it. At least that's my take away from it.
Are you sure you are talking about mass effect insanity ??? That game is only meant to be play on insanity & They have already given so much clues on how to save your crew
Even in insanity I found the suicide mission too easy combat wise. Too few enemies. The final mission should be a final exam of everything you learn in the game. On a difficulty scale from 1 to 10, the final mission/final boss should be a 11 or 12. That’s what gives you a great sense of accomplishment.

@@DesertStateInEU it all comes down a very distinct algorithm. You want everyone to live? FULLY UPGRADE THE NORMANDY! And make sure everyone is at max loyalty to you! If all units are at high affinity and your ship is fully upgraded. Right after you get Legion, DO HIS QUEST! And make sure to side with both Tali and Legion after his quest is finished. Then finally do what Moeflyer here did. Though I don't think round 3 matters. Aslong as everyone is at fully affinity and you left behind damn good units to hold the line it won't matter.

If you don't leave behind anybody, I believe Mordin is the first to die, if hes not present then its the next person in line, but somebody will die.
My teams with my Paragon MaleShep the following was. Tech Specialist was Tali. Second Leader was Miranda. My team was Kasumi and Zaeed. Biotic Specialist was Jack. Second Leader was Garrus. Sent Mordin back with the Crew. My team was Samara and Thane. For the final push, I took Miranda and Jacob and I chose to destroy the Collector Base.
My team was Legion for tech, Garrus for second team leader. Personal team was Zaeed and Thane. Samara for biotic. Garrus for lead again, Grunt was sent with the crew, and my team was the same.
Helpful fact for when get to the part when you need to shoot the injection tubes for the Human-Proto Repear: Make sure you’re equipped with the grenade launcher, and shoot at each one as fast as you can. You can get the opportunity hit 2 of them before they close up, 3 if you’re lucky & fast enough.
I think they fixed that where you can only shoot one at a time. If you’re fast enough you could knock out 3 in a row and then a final one. Some insane speed runners were able to get them all 4 in one go. Definitely not like it was intended.
Lol I just came from a video where everyone dies on the suicide mission, like 3 of them dying during the Normandy bit. So when I watched this one and they crash with everyone alive and joker sarcastically says "off to a great start" had me fucking dying

Ending of ME2 is best ending ever. Even Witcher 3 creators take some ideas of Suicide Mission and put it into battle of kaer morhen, but they know it's not enough to end a game. Good old Bioware, please come back...

The suicide mission is the best hour of gaming ever made. However, it is incredibly painful watching a soldier using the starting AR and never once touching adrenaline rush. XD
Could be a couple of things, realistically. Off the top of my head Miranda wasn't loyal Your score at the end wasn't high enough for everyone to survive. The way this works in ME2, everyone has a score for the Hold the Line part. Garrus, Grunt and Zaeed have a score of 4, Thane, Legion, Jacob, Samara/Morinth have a score of 2 and Jack, Kasumi, Tali and Mordin have a score of 1. Your score at the end needs to be a 2 or higher in order for everyone to survive, anything lower and at least one person dies. By choosing Grunt, you essentially gimp yourself because he's worth 4 points.
My headcannon was that you did not resolved the conflict between Jack and Miranda, am I right? Just for future context, before you launch the Suicide Mission, you can talk to Miranda or Jack, depending on which side you took, to regain one of their loyalties back. According to the OG Mass Effect 2, you need high amount of Paragon/Renegade points to do that. Namely, 4 Full Bars of either of them.

20:15 was where I stopped playing this game when I got to this point. And it was about 6-7 months ago. I was hit in the face with a HORRIBLE twist when I had worked so hard to get everybody loyal and alive, only for Dr. Chakwas to tell me EVERYONE on the crew had been killed and harvested, and she blamed me for it. It was too much, and I quit. I'm prepared to try again after many months away, thinking I would never play this again, and therefore never complete my Mass Effect experience. I just wish I had an inkling how I can avoid this heinous gut-punch.
@@Anticssc I was forced to take too long because at the time most of my squadmates weren't deemed loyal yet when the crew were abducted. I would never have been able to get there in time if I had to do all their personal missions to make sure they would be alive after the raid on the Collector base.
Rip☠️ Restart to before you pick up the reaper IFF and do all the loyalty missions then. It is pretty worth it to have everyone alive and going into me3
Pro tip: Gain her loyalty, then DO NOT select her for anything but Tech Specialist. Then either send her or Mordin back to escort Chakwas and crew. If you didn’t send her back, then keep Garrus, Grunt, and Zaeed behind to hold the line (since she’s high on the death list, but those three being behind has them each cover a weaker party member) or take her with you to the final boss. Otherwise Tali bites the dust.

It Just Depends On Who You Talk To The Most In A Personal Way. I Did My First Time Too. Liara My 2nd Time And Tali My 3rd Time But You Can't Romance Her Until The 2nd Game. Other Woman Like Miranda, Jack, Kelly, And Samantha Was My Attempts After. Just Be Careful How You Respond Back. I Think It Locks The Romance Pact When She Asks If You Wanna Drink To The Grandfather's Surrender. With Liara It Comes After Her Mom's Death.
Illusive Man was right, salvaging the Collector base would have been ideal. The war with the Reapers wasn't over and there was technology there they could acquire. At this point in the game, the Alliance did not have anything close to what they needed to defeat the Reapers. It's no different than picking up a rifle an enemy dropped and using the tech to make your own weapons better; it's just the pragmatic thing to do.
Giving a madman more power is a horrible idea. Especially since if the Illusive Man had what he wanted the galaxy would be in an even worse position than if the Reapers won. If the Illusive Man had all the power in the world sure, he would be the cure to the Reapers problem, but a cure that just makes this worse than the disease ever could is never a good cure (or a cure period).
LAAAAME. XD I mean I love the ending too, but...literally everyone but the colonists surviving a SUICIDE MISSION? I don't care HOW loyal your squad is, this kinda makes the Collectors out to be Grade-A pussies. For reference, there were more casualties on VIRMIRE, and while that was essentially dubbed a suicide mission, the team had no idea of how bad it was going in. Even if you save Wrex, one of your human squad dies, and Salarians die even if you help them during the assault. I always hated the loyalty mechanic. I'm not necessarily in favor of RANDOM deaths, though that would be more realistic, but SOME mechanic that was more realistic. Maybe if you learned it, you could effectively decide WHO dies, rather than IF anybody dies at all. Honestly I try to get Jacob killed every time I run the Suicide Mission. Because he not only sucks in ME2, but he's even lamer in ME3, so what's the loss? My mission seems more realistic and I'm not burdened with his lame ass any more in the narrative. XD All that being said...the ending cinematic never gets old. The soundtrack is incredible.

Still to this day makes me mad how they messed up after ME2 with woke writer. ME2 was perfect. ME3 were killing good characters, wrote them poorly (Jacob being family person even when femShep did choose him as romance aka he dumps femShep) and gave Thane sickness. And Miranda romance is poorly done where Liara gets the cake screen. Every character personality is done excellent in 1 and 2. In 3 they added more but killed good characters and showcased so little the others (Zaeed and Kasumi).
I mean, there were logical reasons why they wrote them "poorly", because whole ME2 squad can die in last mission and Kaiday/Ash in ME1. Bioware didn't have enough development time to equally give screen time to everyone, so in the end Liara got most of it, because she's the only one who cannot die
I'm Currently Playing The 2nd One Right Now. My Favorite Part Is Definitely The Final Mission. First Time I Ever Played The 2nd One After Beating The 1st One. I Got This Ending And I Didn't Even Know About The Other Ending's. Apparently One Ending You Lose People But Still Win But Another You Lose Everyone And Lose The Entire Save. Preventing You From Continuing In The 3rd One. Still Amazes Me I Got The Best Ending On My First Playthrough. I Didn't Even Try To Earn The Other Ending's. Best way to ensure the ground team survives is by putting Garrus in charge. AND doing everyone's loyalty missions successfully.

You gotta raid the collector base quickly after the crew gets kidnapped, the longer you take the more people get liquified

Maybe giving him access to more reaper tech isn’t the best idea. Look how it ended up in mass effect 3.

I mean I love the ending too, but...literally everyone but the colonists surviving a SUICIDE MISSION? I don't care HOW loyal your squad is, this kinda makes the Collectors out to be Grade-A pussies.
For reference, there were more casualties on VIRMIRE, and while that was essentially dubbed a suicide mission, the team had no idea of how bad it was going in. Even if you save Wrex, one of your human squad dies, and Salarians die even if you help them during the assault.
I always hated the loyalty mechanic. I'm not necessarily in favor of RANDOM deaths, though that would be more realistic, but SOME mechanic that was more realistic. Maybe if you learned it, you could effectively decide WHO dies, rather than IF anybody dies at all. Honestly I try to get Jacob killed every time I run the Suicide Mission. Because he not only sucks in ME2, but he's even lamer in ME3, so what's the loss? My mission seems more realistic and I'm not burdened with his lame ass any more in the narrative. XD
All that being said...the ending cinematic never gets old. The soundtrack is incredible.
Doesn’t Captain Kirrahe survive Virmire (if you provide support by destroying enemy drone refueling stations, comm stations, etc)?
@@hitthetarget982Yeah That Part And Whoever You Send With Them Survives. The One Left With The Bomb Dies Too. So If You Left Kaidan With The Bomb And Ashley With Kirrahe And Go For Ashley. The Squad Lives Alongside Ashley. Or Vice Versa. But Whoever You Choose To Provide Back Up Too Survives While The Other Dies.

Still to this day makes me mad how they messed up after ME2 with woke writer. ME2 was perfect.
ME3 were killing good characters, wrote them poorly (Jacob being family person even when femShep did choose him as romance aka he dumps femShep) and gave Thane sickness.
And Miranda romance is poorly done where Liara gets the cake screen.
Every character personality is done excellent in 1 and 2. In 3 they added more but killed good characters and showcased so little the others (Zaeed and Kasumi).
I mean, there were logical reasons why they wrote them "poorly", because whole ME2 squad can die in last mission and Kaiday/Ash in ME1. Bioware didn't have enough development time to equally give screen time to everyone, so in the end Liara got most of it, because she's the only one who cannot die

I'm Currently Playing The 2nd One Right Now. My Favorite Part Is Definitely The Final Mission. First Time I Ever Played The 2nd One After Beating The 1st One. I Got This Ending And I Didn't Even Know About The Other Ending's. Apparently One Ending You Lose People But Still Win But Another You Lose Everyone And Lose The Entire Save. Preventing You From Continuing In The 3rd One. Still Amazes Me I Got The Best Ending On My First Playthrough. I Didn't Even Try To Earn The Other Ending's. I Just Watched It Here Since After I Beat The Game I Came To UA-cam And There A Video Of The Ending's Was Popping Up On My Feed🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
