I just wanted to pass on a word of encouragement to you all! My husband and I just built a home a year and a half ago. I never thought we’d leave the last home we built, as it was to be our forever home. We had the beautiful raised bed vegetable gardens, worked tirelessly on flower gardens and landscaping. We had 10 acres of land for the children to enjoy. But, like you said, being young gives you options. So, we built another home not so far from everything, and left that all behind because of the far greater opportunities that awaited us in our new location. We are slowly working away at landscaping and planting. Blessings on you all, enjoy the journey and life’s many rewarding options!! (Children are so adaptable, and home is where your family is)🙏🏻

We renovated our bedroom, adding bigger closets and a bathroom when I was 8 months pregnant. It sucked, but it was also amazing having a new bathroom so close when I was in that constant pee stage of my pregnancy. We moved when my son was 6 months old. I think you have more prospective of what you need when you have a new baby. I needed to be closer to family. I needed to be in a better part of my city. Good luck with your move! I am sure you are making the right decision.

First, so sorry for your loss of your grandpa while filming this, and the 2 other losses that followed making this video. What a difficult week you've all had, all while being so close to your due date. Second, I resonate with your feelings right now... we moved 1.5 months before I had my baby boy and it was so much change, hardly any nesting for me actually... but we slowed down and did the best we could. Our move was from in the city of Minneapolis, out to a suburb where we felt it would be possibly better for our family. It was during a terrible time to buy a house as it was 100% a sellers market, so we settled a little on some things. Turns out, we're missing the city but torn because we also like the space we have in our yard and we live right next to a preserve with tons of nature, wildlife, and trails. Ultimately, I think raising our son closer to a city, but has a lot of green spaces is where we want to be. It will check the boxes for not only our kiddo, but us as a couple and family to be able to experience great restaurants, parks, and people. Anyway, rambling, but loved this video so much. Thank you for opening up and being raw and vulnerable, and taking us along on your journey. You continue to inspire...

Yes, grew up in a So Cal Beach city, always thought I'd want to be in the country. Moved to the country when I was a young mom and it definitely has its charms, but then there's the day to day reality and long drives to every where and every thing. It was isolating for my child etc. I definitely understand the reasoning behind why you want to find a place closer to the civilization. No shame there!! The country is perfect for some families, and not the ideal for others. I hope you find the perfect place for your family!! 😍☀️😁🏝️

I love that you are looking at places in Sarasota! I am too. I grew up in St. Petersburg and now live in beautiful Utah and have been searching for a Florida home and or retreat because we have the most beautiful views here in the mountains, we can't let it go but, dream of the beach every day. We switched to the plant based lifestyle a few years ago but, still need to learn more to help our 12 year old who has ADHD. I would love to hear more about your plans for a retreat home.

It's all clicking for me now...with each of my three babies so much good and so much hard came all at the same time. We moved close to the time of each of my births and i wish i would have heard your wisdom during that time. I kept resisting the change and pushing against it because i wanted the world to stop while i nested and recovered. But life isn't like that, the world keeps spinning. And I think the take away is that we can have both; the good & the hard, the consistency and the change, the grief and the joy. 💙

My condolences for your loss. Never easy. As far as the messes go, let it go. It’s normal and healthy for kids to make messes as it improves their creativity. They’ll figure out how to clean up as they get older but the last thing you want is to restrict their development out of a fear of a mess. My kid (now 18) was a disaster at their age and I suffered endless Lego injuries and now he keeps his dorm suite more organized than most!

I think you need to focus on asking for help if you need it. Family and Friends would love to help you as long as you ask. My newborn had a day of non stop crying. It was so bad I thought about leaving her in the street. My neighbour texted me asking me if she should take her for a walk. She was just quiet and I said it wasn't needed. 2 minutes later the crying started again. I texted her and said "Come and get her". She saved me and my baby that day. Since then I always ask for help. Those people are blessings. Anyway, you guys are lovely and I hope you know we are all rooting for you. Jennifer! (p.s. my son hijacked my youtube account)

I am 39 weeks with my third baby and I feel like right now you still have a lot of your energy and a lot of your motivation and a lot of your nesting is still going on but just remember you're probably going to run out of that sooner rather than later I just went through a bathroom renovation because a pipe broke and it was a month-long process and I really wish I could've put it off until after the baby was here because I really wanted to relax and use all my spare energy to spend time with the kids. I already have to keep up with the house and to prepare for the baby and instead it went to picking out paint colors and grout and dealing with issue after issue because issues always come up when there's a move or I'm renovation or anything so my suggestion is that you wait you don't wanna add more pressure on yourself more things to do on your to do list when you really should be mentally and physically resting you can move at any time, but that baby is going to come no matter what ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I moved 6 days before my son was born, in the middle of winter in Western New York. Snow on the ground and less than 20 degrees fareinheit. Obviously, I couldn't do much, but with the doors open for hours and hours while everything was being brought in, I was freezing ALL day long and getting grumpier and grumpier as the day went on and my sister kept saying "I think she's going into labor" which just kept pissing me off more and more. After everything was moved in, the movers plopped my queen sized box spring in the middle of my living room and announced it wouldn't go up the stairs and told us how to take the wood frame apart so we could get it up, but they weren't allowed to do that. It was dark and I was cold and tired and grumpy. The rest of my family there helping us left for the evening and my husband and I made up our double sized guest bed and slept there for the night. Family came back the next day to help my husband get our box spring up the stairs. Once I was warm, I was in a good mood again and spent the next 5 days opening boxes and putting the house together. At my Thursday doctor appointment, my doctor recommended inducing labor and he told me to meet him at the hospital at 6 that evening. I went home, called my husband at work to tell him, then I put the changing table together! The crib was still in the box, but we had a bassinet ready to go. After 28 hours of induced labor, my son was born! I don't recommend doing any of this the way I did, but when my son was born, none of it mattered. It did take me about 2 months to get totally unpacked and organized with a new baby that hardly slept, but that was okay.

Good morning, So sorry for your loss. I’m 68, Oma of 2. When our first child was 5 we moved to a beautiful, 24 acre somewhat remote property, lived off grid for 1.5 yrs, second child born during our off grid time. It was work, but looking back, I wouldn’t trade that time for anything! We could hike for days and never leave our land. We grew our own food, had our own water system, the air was clean, we had animals. We were 8 mi out of town, so planning errands, etc was so important. Lived in that lovely setting for 28 years and I do miss it. However, there are good reasons to live closer to town. When you find the right spot, you’ll know.
