Can you make a theory video on all the character's 'reality checks' in your opinion? Apparently Vivzepop mentioned once that all the characters are suppose to eventually get a reality check. I'd love to hear your opinion on when, why, and what their reality checks would be.
What makes Alastor Overlord is the magic of voodoo and the ability to grant wishes, not radio or industry, because the Overlord relies on their support. He has a stable energy source, so this is what made him defeat a previous Husk Overlord, because he relied on the money he earned from the moon. 😊
If the power/potency of a soul transfers into comparable power to the one who owns them, then it makes sense to want to try and claim high-power souls rather than just try to claim a ton of crappy ones. To use Dragon Ball Z as kind of a reference, a thousand power level 1 people are nothing compared to a single power level 1000 person, because even if all one thousand of the power level 1's try to attack the power level 1000 character they will fail. If souls in Hazbin work somewhat the same way, I can definitely see Alastor playing a very long game where he slowly tries to accumulate very powerful souls while his rivals all waste their time trying to snatch up as many low-tier souls as they can. Valentino even kind of hints at this being his thing, collecting a lot of garbage souls so he probably has way more souls under contract than Alastor does... but if Alastor has the souls of former overlords like Husk and Nifty... and maybe even someone like Lilith... then even if he technically doesn't have a lot of souls the sheer _power_ of the souls he does have would put him leagues above someone like Valentino. Then again this is all just my headcanon so I could be totally wrong on this and overthinking it wayyyy too much
I think this is why he's at the hotel, I guarantee you he's waiting for things to screw up big time so he can take Charlie's soul through a deal. This is what the Vees are terrified of him episode 2.
“And [Nifty]? You don’t even wanna know her deal” sold me on the idea shes an insane psychopath even by hells standards Angels idea for how to build trust scene solidified that 😂
if you think about it alastor is actually a pretty good boss, if we compare al with vox or val we can see the difference easily, al has never harmed husky or niffty at all (in terms of physically at least) he just annoyed husk and gave them work to do. He also gives them a surprisingly huge amount of freedom, they can do anything and go anywhere until al needs them and summons them.
@coolestbean24 I think alastor is the type to give them some dangerous but possible for them to do task and will intervene and rescue them immediately if husk or niffty is in danger.
@@guesswho8796 Probably because alastor considers husk as an old friend, while vox and val only sees there minions as minions, nothing more and nothing less.
I'm going to to a "FTFY" because the fact that everybody seems to dance around this drives me slightly nuts: "if you think about it alastor is actually a pretty good -boss- slaveowner" Both Husk and Angel Dust are clearly *owned* by Alastor and Valentino, respectively. Yes, it's apparently better to be owned by Alastor, but the underlying reality is still pretty terrible.
We've always drawn parallels between Husk's and Angel's predicaments, however finally seeing the nitty-gritty of their situations really makes you see how deep in the gutter they've landed themselves into. We've really gotten a good perspective on Husk after such a long time waiting for the show to come out, and looking back at all of the comics and other media that precedes it you begin to realize how the fans have understood and nailed his character to a T. A ton of it was a bit of guessing, but it turned out to be for the most part correct.
I mean, at least they're not having a healthy relationship. Dynamic and so just one sided And I know it's gay but it's a very healthy relationship that I enjoy
I dont think Niffty was a overlord and here’s why: when we meet Sir pen(I can’t spell his name) she calls him a “badboy” and when he comes back to the hotel she runs into his arms and tells him “the badboy is back never leave me again” I think Niffty saw Alastor as a “badboy” and just agreed to sign the detail so she could always be by him or “summoned” when needed, seeing her personally and her obsession with badboys this makes sense
@@Shady_br That kind of depends on how they want to take that particular part of the story. It could very well be a plot point that Alastor specifically opted to try and get Overlords under contract with him because he understood that having a few powerful souls bound to him was far more valuable than having legions of garbage souls bound to him. Him having two former overlords in that case would actually make perfect sense and add a further layer of menace to his character. Then again this all hinges on my theory that the "power" of a soul actually provides something to the contractor other than just having someone powerful indebted to you
@@Shady_br Nah it'd be badass and a flex to have former Overlords as your servants, but Nifty being an overlord is kinda lame. She gives more of the vibe of an obedient follower than a boss
I feel like if they did it with nifty they should just have her mention it and just, never bring it up again, mess with the fandom a bit lol, maybe imply she’s lying, idk, I think it’d be funny
Something interesting to note, Alastor was seen stepping out of the tailor and then appearing in his tower. It's implied that this took virtually no time. Alastor may be able to teleport anywhere his radio waves can reach meaning his range and the area he can cover are much greater than that of Vox. The breadth of powers we've seen from Alastor simply outclass what little the other Overlords have shown so far. I suspect that Zestial's mutual respect and courteousness toward Alastor contributed to his survival. The reason the sinners reacted to Zestial rather than Alastor may be because they were recent arrivals and were unfamiliar with Alastor who was absent for 7 years.
I Think that's just part of Zestial's Power - Looking at him causes Weaker Souls to Convulse like Technology does around Alastor. Probably Why the Two get along so Well...
We also know that Vox can travel through electric cables, and since Alastor seems to be far more powerful and his domain seems to be occult magic, it's more than believable.
Husk is the ONLY character I seen so far who is not a lunatic in my oppinion. His sin was gambling. He try to drink his sorrow for gamble his life away down but as far as I can see it, thats it.
This would explain why Husk seems to be unafraid of Alastor compared to most other characters. The fact alastor allows Husk to touch him and scream at him when he would normally not permit that would seem either Husk still has at least some degree of power that could pose a reasonable threat to Alastor. Or on the flipside Husk may have so little power now that he is not a threat but Husk doesnt really care anyway so he treats Alastor as he pleases as long as he gets done what he is told to do.
The fact that he was once an Overlord himself likely meant he holds the position of overlord as less of this all powerfull being like most Sinners would, mind you he probably does fear Alastor to some extand... few doesnt and they tend to be at least equal in status to superior, but since the Overlords does seem to know each other better than their workers, safe to say Husk and Alastor knew each other for a short while prior to his soul being dealt away. And Alastor allowing His subordinates more leeway really could just be because he knows they are under him and his controll over them is ultimately prevalent over the rest, theres less to fear from something you owe and controll than an foreign entity
I remember the fandom figured out Husk was an Overlord from his concept art, and the casino seen in the pilot. However one of the show creators told everyone he wasn't a Overlord. Either they changed their minds or lied to protect the reveal.
If I were to throw my two cents in, I would guess that Alastor goes for Quiltiy of Souls rather then Quantity and that may be what vivz meant when she said Alastor doesn’t gather power in the “traditional” way
Fr, thats why he wants to strike a deal with charlie. And ppl theorise vaggie is a fallen exterminator (X eye and her angelic spear), and he may try and deal with her too
Its crazy how they teased this back in the pilot and yet I was still shocked to learn the truth about Husk once being an Overlord. Keith David is a golden gem of a musician and voice actor and did an excellent job as the character
I remember rewatching the pilot and seeing thr shadow of husk and niffty, thinking it was weird. I was like "there's no way theyre overlords" so i assumed they were there js because al owned their souls.
I can see husk as an overlord. He is a gambler and eventually people will even trade their own life to get it but nifty is a tad different. If she was an overlord my guess is that she was a torturer and cleaner, she got souls through either deals to kill others or by people begging for their lives to not be killed by her. Shes nifty because she's small but useful, a killer tool
Husker may have been the Overlord of Casinos or gambling in particular. Most likely he defeated the previous Overlord of that title and that's how he became one. It makes sense that Zestial is the Overlord of information because of his spider theme and his web of information.
That's the big question I kept asking myself. Does Husk still have his power over gambling? Did he lose it? Or is it that he can only access his power if Alister allows him to? Because right now, he doesn't seem particularly strong or weak, just pretty average but for someone who was once an Overlord that traded his soul to "Retain" his power, you'd expect him to be secretly far stronger than what he appears to be. It would be interesting if, at any point, Husk finds a way to either win back his soul or break his contract with Alister to get his full powers back and become an Overlord of gambling.... but I doubt that'd ever happen since his purpose is to represent hitting rock bottom.
He turned dice into explosions, and threw cards sharp enough to fly clean through metal I think he still has some power just doesn't normally feel the need to use it
He definitely still has power. I don't think Alister needs a chump on a rope. I think Alister is attracted to power. He has an older idea on what powers is. Less Bezos and more Rockefeller. He's probably seen a lot of Vox es in his days, but maybe very few Huskers. And he wanted that.
I think its a case of Alister having Husk on a hard 'debt' of souls, no matter how he gambles, no matter how many times he wins or loses- everything he has and everything he is, belongs to Alister- thus he can no longer advance, nor can his powers shrink- and in turn this has left him disillusioned with gambling, because there are no real stakes for him now, no real risks, no possible rewards.
I just love the fact that Vivziepop said long ago that husk is the most Hazbin character from all of the crew. I hadn't known why before i watched the 4th episode. It's cool to see how forward-looking the plot of the show is
I thought it was pretty awesome seeing Husk bring out a shocking level of power when he "rescued" Angel, so the reveal that he was once an Overlord made sense. I guessed that by selling his soul to Alistair to "save his power" he transferred that power to add to the Radio Demon's. He still had access to some of it as long as Alistair agreed, but he couldn't gamble away that remaining power and squander it. In other words, he couldn't trust himself with the power, so he gave it to someone he could trust. Which is not to say that Alistair didn't manipulate him into it, but again, he saw Alistair as a better choice than some random gambler.
Honestly, I expect Alister Holds Husk to a strict 'fund' of souls, so long as he's under him- he holds that exact value of souls, of power- he can gamble as much as he wants but win or lose, it means nothing to him now, he wins? the souls he's won go to Alister- to pay the impossibly large debt he accrued gambling against him, he loses? his power sees no change- as its simply tossed on the ever growing debt he owes, but can never repay.
I imagine it was a case of "Alastor loaned Husk X souls, and he has to pay back X number of souls, with interest accumulating the longer it takes to repay, to become free of Alastor's employ" kind of deal, and that number has probably gotten so high that he is effectively in Alastor's service forever. He's probably still significantly more powerful than the average Sinner, but he's a far cry from the Overlord he used to be.
Honestly, I expect he's kept to a strict 'credit' of souls he 'owns' alongside an impossibly large debt he accrued gambling against Alastor, he is contractually not allowed to own more or less than X souls without Alastor's permission, where X keeps him roughly 1-2/3rds as powerful as when he was an overlord, any souls he spends- Alastor 'loans' replacements, while any souls he acquires are counted against a debt so large he can't pay it off without Alastor himself striking off that debt.
I honestly never clocked that the things overlords rule over are industries, but if that's the case I can see Rosie ruling over the luxury industry, things like jewellery, perfume, expensive clothes, based on the way she dresses and the few shots of inside her shop we've seen, and Zestial maybe being an overlord of literature or theatre based on the way he speaks. His outfit is also reminiscent of the beggar king trope that originated in Jacobean theatre, and he has the ability to conjure objects in a similar way to Alastor, which makes me think his industry is definitely a creative one like radio, television, etc.
@@TamWam_ It is a possibility, indeed. However, I personally think that he might be the overlord of information, or something along those lines. We see throughout the episode that he’s obsessed with gathering info
I'm more curious what it means to make a deal with Alastor. From what we've seen in the second episode he has other souls of demons under him, so he may have a reason to allow husky and nifty to stay sentient. Also I wonder what alastor got from husk outside of a servant. Every overlord who makes a deal with a lower demon clear gets something outside of power. Alastor seems like someone who plans something big without you ever knowing so every choice he makes feels like theirs an underlying purpose outside of chaos. And does the fact the souls he owns being a former overlords increase it more than it would for regular sinners🤔🤔
I do think Husk is the Overlord of Gambling not because he introduced it or anything but because he is GOOD at it. I can imagine him gambling with a sinner and winning everything causing the sinner to lose everything until making an all for nothing deal for the sinner's soul thus him having a lot of souls enough to make him an Overlord. And I can imagine him doing the same with Alastor out of desperation and betting all of his souls until his very own. And I do can imagine Alastor letting Husk keep some for him to hold some power because he would find it amusing I do hope that we would get to explore the other Overlords and how they became one (especially that blue fire deer skull guy I was so interested with him ever since the pilot.)
What is more intriguing is how Alastor actually spared Husk´s life. He probably has value or respect from him to keep him under his control. If this was during Alastor's rising that means he has "something" unlike other Overlords back then.
I remember Vaggie saying that Alastor toppled overlords who were dominant for centuries before, so it could be referring to those two (or possibly others)
The Loser song was incredible! Saved to my playlist. Husk has always been a favorite of mine. I loved the line "this face was made for radio!" Coffee spew!
My theory for how Husk gambled away his soul, is that he used his soul as Collateral for a hand that he desperately lost. We can see this evidenced by the way that Alastor is surrounded by piles of chips and cash around him, whilst Husk has nothing, he’s lost everything and had nothing more to offer, this indicating that Alastor was beating Husk dearly, and Husk, not wanting to stop and give up all of the souls he lost, decided to put up his own soul as collateral for one last hand, a foolish choice that he lost, and forever regrets. The line “I sold my soul to save my power” doesn’t necessarily mean he HAS power, it could infer that he put up his soul to TRY and SAVE his power, ultimately losing and ending up on Alastor string, and losing his Overlord status.
Alastor is probably the worst enemy for a gambler like Husk, because who would have a better poker face than someone who never lets their smile slip? Husk likely challenged Alastor (mostly because Alastor has pretty much been passive in regards to dealing out beatdowns, only really going after those who strike at him first), so my thought is that Husk was a young and up-and-coming overlord, got cocky because he became successful, and then tried his hand (pun intended) with Alastor... and lost it all. And of course Alastor was probably just amused that this young punk had not only opted to challenge him but also didn't know when to quit.
I think he probably does still have his power as if he sold his soul to save his power he probably did so as part of the deals terms and while Alastor is evil I don’t see him as a liar more of the human personification of a moneys paw. He will keep his end of the deal but in a way you wouldn’t expect. Maybe husk still has his power but he has to use it however alastor pleases.
Poor Husk for being under Alastor’s thumb and I wonder what other stuff he’s been forced to do besides work at the bar at the hotel.🤔🥺 I do think Husk’s slicing card trick in episode 4 was cool.😊 It’d be interesting if Alastor has several Overlord souls under his control and we’ll get to see them later on.🤔
I assumed it was less of Alastor harming Husk and more so just Husk losing his territory/powers and sticking to gambling. Alastor seems to treat him as a friend who owes him a favor
When this was revealed & the card symbolizm was used in the backstory sequence, I immediently understood why Keith David was chosen as his VA; DR. FACILIER IS BACK BB!!
Husk being an Overlord is cool and all. It explains a lot of why he had a love/hate relationship with Alastor. Granted, if some of the songs and some inconclusive canon are to be believed, Husk knew Alastor while they were alive and were “Friends”. Then Husk up and took a dirt nap, ended up going to Hell, and became an Overlord. Then Alastor got shot, went to Hell, found Husker, found out what he needed to go higher up in the chain, smacked Husker magically, (maybe physically, mentally and emotionally), made him his General Handyman, and rose the ranks. Husker is trusted by Al, but doesn’t see the value in what he has, because his sun is living in his Past. It’s written all over his demon form.
Husk as a hazbin overlord, I can see that from his bitterness and jaded views, but I can't imagine it with Niffty, not with her chipperness. Then again, her mind might've broken from the loss of power and status, or, she's just that mentally resilient that it can't get her down.
What if thats how Alastor got so powerful? Husk bet his position and Alastor bet the souls he owned. If husk won he'd ultimately save his title. He lost and Alastor became an overlord seemingly over night.
2:00 i think the difference is that other overlords get their "power" by manipulating, controlling and getting human souls straight from the demons themselves, however alastor's approach appears to be instead taking souls en masse from other demon lords instead
Something I would love to see in the show is for alastor to find husk at an all time low point and husk just saying “What do you want you creep?” And alastor just says “ you know, no matter how much I screw with you, I do consider you a good friend.” Followed by a bit about alastor not wanting Charlie or anyone else knowing that he just called husk a friend.
I'm guessing Husk tried to take on 'the New Guy' and almost ended up like the others. And for some reason he was offered to be spared in exchange for servitude.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Angel die years before Husk? If that was the case, how come he didn't know Husk used to be an overlord? Also, assuming that the pilot is still canon (which, it most likely is), it's strange that Charlie was acting like he was a random sinner she just met. Unless there are so many overlords the princess of hell herself isn't familiar with all of them, it feels like a plot hole.
There is a lot of overlords and no reason why Charlie would know each one. Angel made it clear he doesn't pay attention to overlord politics in the pilot but even if he did, not every overlord is going to be super well known in the same ways.
Husk has always been my favorite character since the pilot his character design is so cool looking, I’ve always been a fan of magician themed characters. His story and personality is so interesting to me, there isn’t very much we know about him compared to other characters I’m so excited to see everything roll out through the series! :)
Looking back, the pilot did have husk up there with Al but I didn't think much of it because Niffty was also there and I assumed it was because they worked for Al. Seems he was one after all, which begs the question if she is one too, we'll see. Though.. I love how casually he just dropped that he was an overlord- 😭 I love learning about husk because he's my favorite character (angel too) always was, so man that caught me off guard
A Thheory: te blue flames overlord mabey is the new overlord of gambeling, who rised up after Husk lost his status. Mabey Husk was one of many overlords that alustor ended.
7:34 Zestial speaking Shakespearean makes me think he'd be the overlord that controls literature; which would be a huge industry. Like radio and TV, it's a consumer media. So the thought of him being the demon of knowledge isn't far from realistic, in this theory.
It would actually makes sense on how Alastor "manifested in hell, seemingly overnight, he began to topple overlords that have been dominant for centuries." from the pilot as Vaggie explained. Alastor found the weakest overlords through deal makings. Possibly what remains of those overlords (since they can't be killed without angelic weapons) are the shadows he can control and manifest. Just like how he can summon Husk and Nifty out of nowhere just like the shadows. It may even be a case of them eventually becoming shadows of their former selves as well.
I remember Viv saying once that Husk was pretty strong but for him to actually be an Overlord once I believe that is a twist that non of us saw, and he probably was the overlord of gambling and casinos in Hell.
Honestly Husk is growing to be my favorite character in the show. I like his design and his usual no nonsense attitude hides a grief of losing his power.
personally, i think alastor wanted to make a deal with charlie in the pilot BECAUSE of her power, after all vox wanted to make sure he didn’t make a deal with her. the power he gains is based off of who he makes deals with. that’s probably why he made a deal with husk. alastor stole his soul which also meant he took his power as well. thus why husk’s overlord title depleted. (unless you already said that, i haven’t watched the entire video yet.)
A theory i have is that the hotel will eventually get the support of the overlords, which could be Alastors end goal. Not because it's what he really wants but because he is secretly working for/with Lillith. i sight their connection in the fact that Charlie states that she hasn't seen her mother in 7 years and Alastor had been gone for 7 years from Pentagram city. It would make sense that they have a connection since he is the Radio Demon and she is Hells guiding voice.
Isn't it strange how many times the number seven has occurred in the show? As a start, sir Pentious first attack on the hotel was one week ago, That's 7 days. Charlie hasn't heard from Lillith in 7 years. Alastor hasn't been around in hell for 7 years before appearing at the hotel. And hell has 7 rings....strange. Also, isn't it strange that Husk appears as the Jack (of dimonds) in the card deck? The jack is allso refer to as the knight, a servant to the king (Alastor, the king of spades) and queen... The devil is in the details.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the complexity of Rosie and how our best guesses of what she does for a living range from selling furniture to cannibalism
It would be interesting if Alastor developed a habit of putting some of the overlords he toppled under his control via deal-making, rather than just outright slaughtering them all, specifically the ones most useful to his interests or goals. Would also add a new dimension to his refusal to join Vox.
Will you make a video focusing on the sinners' "Hellish side" we keep getting hints of? We notably saw it with Angel in episode 4 when he confronts Husk, all his eyes including his little eyes glow and his voice became layered. I'm curious if we'll ever see the full extent of this side of him.
In episode 4 Charlie was about to use her authority in hell.... I wonder if Charlie being the princess of hell has authority over the overlords and can order them to hand over the souls to her... or can her father order them to hand over the souls? That's pretty clear that Carmine
And Overlord of Gambling makes sense, I understand why Husk was one. Not sure what Nifty would have been the overloaded of, stalking or generalized obsession doesn’t feel like it would amass enough power to be on the same level as the others especially not by it self. Maybe Al just picked her up because she was cute, tiny and useful. The comments show him helping out a mild mannered sheep demon, and while initially annoyed with the eggs he brought them back and vouched for the usefulness.
I think Rosie, given what an Emproium is, doesn't just deal in the usual fare you'd expect of the colony but Earth items. It would also mean anyone nostalgic and desperate enough to seek them would need to brave the cannibal colony.
The main reason why I think Husk's industry as an overlord was gambling is his character design, what with the card symbols on his person and the roulette design on his wings.
Alastor gaining power by making precise strikes I think would be a great way to explain why he's just so powerful. I'm sure he had a head-start *because* of his radio influence, but it probably grew exponentially because he was taking on overlord, and other powerful, souls to increase his powers. A "quality over quantity" strategy with chess-like plotting
This may be pretty obvious but the cards that we see (the ones with him on it). We noticeably see his mood slowly drop as the numbers do. This most likely is reflecting him losing soul after soul to Alastor. He started off confident with a smile but upon the 1st drop his expression changes as it slowly changes more and more as the numbers drop.
Overlord industries: Valentino- porn industry Vox- tv industry Velvette-social media industry Alastor-radio industry Rosie- retail industry Carmilla- weapon industry Zestial- information industry The last 3 are still not confirmed, at least rosie and especially zestial. So this comment might be outdated in a couple of months but for now I think these are most likley possibilites
It's quiet possible that when husker made a deal with Alastor, that when he sold his soul to "save his power", Alastor must have pitched that he can retain his power and his free will, while just being at his beck and call. And I imagine how Alastor guaranteed that was by insuring that Hsuker could never gamble again. I'm more curious about why Angel sold his soul to Valentino because there's gotta be more to that story unless it was simple coercion...
I've been wondering if Alastor has some kind of altirior motive with bringing Husk and Nifty specifically to the hotel. There was that theory that he may be allied with Lilith in some way and was sent to the hotel by her specifically. He may have seen it as an opportunity to try and rehabilitate the overlords he toppled, and make sure they don't become a problem again, even if he doesn't necessarily think they'll get into heaven. Husk and Nifty may be his lab rats at the moment.
Perhaps Husk was an original overlord of Entertainment? Prior to Vox taking over everything with TV, Husk could've held power over like stage performances? Though I will admit gambling seems the far more likely industry for him to rule over.
if you think Zestial as the overlord of information it makes sense think of him has a private detective the spider theme could mean he has a web of connection where he can use to gather information like a private detective he gathers the information himself which makes it easier for him to either tell if someone is lying or hiding something as well as getting them to trust him enough to tell him.
I don’t know if anyone noticed, when Husk and angel’s song is ending and they are running of the shark. It appears in the Background, “love potion by velvette” with Valentino🤬together It’s the same potion the other shark was trying to use in angels’ drink minutes ago It’s just a little detail that add more about the 3 Vs power, that they control a part of the drug market
Carmilla is not just the overlord of angelic weapons she seems to be an overlord of weapons in general and was likely around even before Alastors rise to power since Zestial the oldest overlord considers her an old friend and Velvet referring to her and Zestial as old timers.
First: this episode is right now my absolute favorite from the whole Angel situation to seeing Charlie get mad to finally uncovering some of Husk's lore. Secondly, I think Husk did sell his soul to Alastor in a way to benefit himself and Alastor because as we have seen Alastor deal with influence rather than quantity and I use the word influence because he tries to gather souls that can effectively utter control on others: Husk in alcohol and gambling is clearly some big values that go on in Hell, Nifty seen as cleanliness but also Nihlism because she cares for nothing and just lives in the misery that surrounds them (I feel Alastor took her on in the way a bad parent raises a child but also a pet due to their loyalty), he tried to make a deal with Charlie as she is clearly the princess of Hell, and he also tried to make one with Val who seems to be the only other one to have an influence on Charlie as her lover. It seems like Alastor has a vision on ruling over the principles that exist in Hell but since he has not been able to leave the Pride Ring he just obtains what he can such as Husk representing Gluttony, Nifty representing Wrath, and Charlie/Val representing Pride. He never tried to make a move onto Anthony/Angel since he sold his soul to Valentino but no one knows that except for Husk as we know so Alastor could possibly try to take it whenever he beats Vox or just leave it for the time being
Rosie may be one of the strongest Overlords out of them all Quote from her Casting Call: "Rosie is the overlord in Hell who everyone owes a favor to" (Already very interesting saying EVERYONE owes her a favor) "She is incredibly capable and can seemingly do anything for anyone, in exchange for their loyalty and helpfulness" (another quote showing just how strong she is. Not sure if the "Loyalty and Helpfulness" part is because the casting call further goes to say she acts motherly, or if it's contracts for people's souls) "She is incredibly confident, she gets what she wants." (Again, another quote saying how she's incredibly strong and how she gets what she wants) I got a feeling Rosie is one of, if not the strongest Overlords, but it's too early to say since we haven't seen her in action yet
So this is only fueled by the connection of Kietth David as the voice actor and undoubtedly negated by existing lore but in my headcanon Husk is what happened to Doctor Facilier (from the Princess and the Frog) after being taken to the other side. Somehow he wheeled and dealed and gambled himself into becoming an overlord until things went wrong leading to his deal with Alastor and a Husk of his former self.
I think Alastor was just on his overlord toppling spree and saw Husk's casino, then he just found Husk and started gambling with him, then Husk gambled away everything, even his rationanilty, and he put his took out his soul to gamble, then failed miserably and lost his soul to Alastor(my head cannon, if I'm missing any details that disprove this theory, pls point it out for me)
With Zestiel's theory being focused on information, he could represent newspaper, then Alastor came in with Radio, then Vox came in with TV. It would cover every source of information throughout the years.
I think Husk was the Overlord of Gambling, it makes sense, Vox looks like a television demon and The same kinda goes for Husk with Gambling and him losing everything by losing his own game is poetic.
My head-canon for Husk is that he was playing a Normal stakes game of cards against Alastor, Alastor came in with intent to get a soul, as he played and others were eliminated and it came down to the final rounds of the game and it was clear Husk was loosing his "One more time" urge kicked in and when he had nothing left to wager he wagered His Soul and while I don't think Alastor cheated to win I think he knew that Husk had an insatiable hunger to win.
I theorize that Angeldust will likely get out of his contract with Valentino, maybe by making a contract with Alastor. And I also theorize that Husker will not get out of his contract with Alastor. I think with his gambling addiction he may actually be better off contracted to Alastor to stop himself from falling back down to rock bottom.
Since all the overlords control one specific thing, what if alistar is actually the lord of deception. It would make sense in his power ranking because he would like to lie low and slowly deceive any other overlords that he just doesnt like, or has a use for. He doesnt have to worry about the V's because they are using an offshoot of his true power.

What makes Alastor Overlord is the magic of voodoo and the ability to grant wishes, not radio or industry, because the Overlord relies on their support. He has a stable energy source, so this is what made him defeat a previous Husk Overlord, because he relied on the money he earned from the moon. 😊
Oh yay I’m here how am I early-
can we please talk about the fact that lilith and alastor both disappeared 7 years ago? they’ve gotta be connected somehow right?
i think zestial is the overlord of fear because zestial is older than dirt
Alastor definitely seems like the kind of guy who embodies the idea of “quality over quantity”. Especially when collecting souls.
I mean it makes sense
I mean the quality of the product is more important than a quantity of it
If the power/potency of a soul transfers into comparable power to the one who owns them, then it makes sense to want to try and claim high-power souls rather than just try to claim a ton of crappy ones.
Then again this is all just my headcanon so I could be totally wrong on this and overthinking it wayyyy too much
unfortunately some people dont get it
Explains why he took the souls of overlords
I think this is why he's at the hotel, I guarantee you he's waiting for things to screw up big time so he can take Charlie's soul through a deal. This is what the Vees are terrified of him episode 2.

The idea that Nifty could’ve been an Overlord is actually very funny.
Could also be tragic, could be she was completely sane but lost her sanity due to the deal with alastor/after losing her power.
That sure would be crazy I honestly js see her as a servant to Alastor

if you think about it alastor is actually a pretty good boss, if we compare al with vox or val we can see the difference easily, al has never harmed husky or niffty at all (in terms of physically at least) he just annoyed husk and gave them work to do. He also gives them a surprisingly huge amount of freedom, they can do anything and go anywhere until al needs them and summons them.
@coolestbean24 I think alastor is the type to give them some dangerous but possible for them to do task and will intervene and rescue them immediately if husk or niffty is in danger.
@@justchad6445 ye but rescue them less cause he actually cares for their well being and more to not loose his assets.

I'm going to to a "FTFY" because the fact that everybody seems to dance around this drives me slightly nuts:

Both Husk and Angel Dust are clearly *owned* by Alastor and Valentino, respectively. Yes, it's apparently better to be owned by Alastor, but the underlying reality is still pretty terrible.
Husk being an Overlord was a twist I never saw coming.

Dynamic and so just one sided
And I know it's gay but it's a very healthy relationship that I enjoy
I dont think Niffty was a overlord and here’s why: when we meet Sir pen(I can’t spell his name) she calls him a “badboy” and when he comes back to the hotel she runs into his arms and tells him “the badboy is back never leave me again”
I think Niffty saw Alastor as a “badboy” and just agreed to sign the detail so she could always be by him or “summoned” when needed, seeing her personally and her obsession with badboys this makes sense
Also from a writing perspective it would be lame to have 2 characters who used to be overlords serving under Alastor
Well he is more like a fatherly figure and shes the unhinged daughter
I assumed that Zestial was Alastor's father figure or mentor
@@SirToaster9330i mean, zestiel/zestial (idk spelling) IS the oldest overlord, and maybe alastor even tried to topple him and failed lmao

I was surprised by the reveal but it really helped explain why Husk had such an involved design and why he settled for cheap booze in the pilot.
Well now that change alastor was really agressive when husk talk about something in the episode 5..

Man this aged like milk. Alastor put Husk into shaking kitten mode in episode 5.
And ppl theorise vaggie is a fallen exterminator (X eye and her angelic spear), and he may try and deal with her too
He makes use of the souls he captures, see what's useful about them and have them be his pet.
The ones he kill are put to use as scream fodder in his radio show. The ones he make deals with are made into his subordinates
His cards seem to be where his power manifests. He uses them as weapons, while everyone else uses guns.
He turned dice into explosions, and threw cards sharp enough to fly clean through metal
I think he still has some power just doesn't normally feel the need to use it
He definitely still has power.
It's cool to see how forward-looking the plot of the show is
Its all coming in a full circle. I fr cant wait for ep 5 when (spoilers)
Lucifer shows up, meets the cast, and probably sings a duet w alastor
I think it would of been like this except it's more of a give me this many souls by this date or your soul becomes my property and he failed
David Keith’s singing doesn’t fail on sending accepting self-esteem messages and how to continue going on in life.
Actually, Zestial speaks in archaic English because he’s very old and doesn’t want to change
Rosie runs the cannibal district
@@eu4083thats true, but if he is that old, then he still has the chance to be in charge of literature and theatre
@@shadowmemory8877yes but shes fashionable. I mean a cannibal can be fashionable... I think?
8:07 that transition was fire
I thought the idea of Husky as a mafioso overload was so cute, his appearance indicated exactly that.
An angry but incredibly cute cat 😂
I do think Husk is the Overlord of Gambling not because he introduced it or anything but because he is GOOD at it. I can imagine him gambling with a sinner and winning everything causing the sinner to lose everything until making an all for nothing deal for the sinner's soul thus him having a lot of souls enough to make him an Overlord. And I can imagine him doing the same with Alastor out of desperation and betting all of his souls until his very own. And I do can imagine Alastor letting Husk keep some for him to hold some power because he would find it amusing
I do hope that we would get to explore the other Overlords and how they became one (especially that blue fire deer skull guy I was so interested with him ever since the pilot.)
Poor Husk for being under Alastor’s thumb and I wonder what other stuff he’s been forced to do besides work at the bar at the hotel.🤔🥺 I do think Husk’s slicing card trick in episode 4 was cool.😊
It’d be interesting if Alastor has several Overlord souls under his control and we’ll get to see them later on.🤔

Husk - the overlord of cats
When this was revealed & the card symbolizm was used in the backstory sequence, I immediently understood why Keith David was chosen as his VA; DR. FACILIER IS BACK BB!!
Husk was an overlord and that's surprised me
Husk being an Overlord is cool and all.
Husk is 1970s
Alaster was 1930s
@@thomasdaywalt7735 ok and? Velvet is from the 2000s
Husk is definitely becoming one of my favorites so far.
@@CartoonUniverse I thought overlords were a relatively small class of demons, but that makes more sense, thank you!

Looking back, the pilot did have husk up there with Al but I didn't think much of it because Niffty was also there and I assumed it was because they worked for Al. Nifty being an overlord is a funny yet terrifying thought.
A Thheory: te blue flames overlord mabey is the new overlord of gambeling, who rised up after Husk lost his status. Mabey Husk was one of many overlords that alustor ended.
The husk and angel duet was the cutest thing I've seen in the hazbin hotel series
7:34 Zestial speaking Shakespearean makes me think he'd be the overlord that controls literature; which would be a huge industry. Like radio and TV, it's a consumer media. So the thought of him being the demon of knowledge isn't far from realistic, in this theory.
Husks design from the past at 0:07 is awesome! I want to learn more about him so much! He has been my favorite character since the pilot episode
Nifty is my favorite she's so chaotic gremlin energy xD
I remember Viv saying once that Husk was pretty strong but for him to actually be an Overlord once I believe that is a twist that non of us saw, and he probably was the overlord of gambling and casinos in Hell.
It makes sense for husk to be the overboard of gambling. I also like the idea that he bet his soul to Alistor to keep some of his power.
WAY back in the day, Viv said that Husk has electricity powers. If that remains true, maybe that's whay Alastor finds him useful.
"When you're dealing in souls". He obviously challenged sinners to games and won every time until Alastor. Sinners gambled away their souls to Husk.
Husk could have been the overlord of gambling, but then became a victim of his own gambling addiction.
More indication to me that he went after alastors soul first
Overlord industries:
Valentino- porn industry
Vox- tv industry
Velvette-social media industry
Alastor-radio industry
Rosie- retail industry
Carmilla- weapon industry
Zestial- information industry
The last 3 are still not confirmed, at least rosie and especially zestial.
Husk and Nifty may be his lab rats at the moment.
zestial as an ovwrlord of information, moving amongst the shadows, having a web of spies or a met for information, i could certainly see that.
Perhaps Husk was an original overlord of Entertainment? Prior to Vox taking over everything with TV, Husk could've held power over like stage performances?
Though I will admit gambling seems the far more likely industry for him to rule over.
Makes me wonder how powerful he was as an overlord
if you think Zestial as the overlord of information it makes sense think of him has a private detective the spider theme could mean he has a web of connection where he can use to gather information like a private detective he gathers the information himself which makes it easier for him to either tell if someone is lying or hiding something as well as getting them to trust him enough to tell him.
i personally think that niffty was somehow related to alastor, like a sibling or a cousin
I don’t know if anyone noticed, when Husk and angel’s song is ending and they are running of the shark. It appears in the Background, “love potion by velvette” with Valentino🤬together
It’s the same potion the other shark was trying to use in angels’ drink minutes ago
It’s just a little detail that add more about the 3 Vs power, that they control a part of the drug market
He never tried to make a move onto Anthony/Angel since he sold his soul to Valentino but no one knows that except for Husk as we know so Alastor could possibly try to take it whenever he beats Vox or just leave it for the time being
Rosie may be one of the strongest Overlords out of them all
Quote from her Casting Call: "Rosie is the overlord in Hell who everyone owes a favor to" (Already very interesting saying EVERYONE owes her a favor)
"She is incredibly capable and can seemingly do anything for anyone, in exchange for their loyalty and helpfulness" (another quote showing just how strong she is. Not sure if the "Loyalty and Helpfulness" part is because the casting call further goes to say she acts motherly, or if it's contracts for people's souls)
"She is incredibly confident, she gets what she wants." (Again, another quote saying how she's incredibly strong and how she gets what she wants)
I got a feeling Rosie is one of, if not the strongest Overlords, but it's too early to say since we haven't seen her in action yet
Awesome video
:D
maybe nifty was obsesses with alastor because she likes „bad guys“. thats why she dedicated her soul to alastor
I think Alastor was just on his overlord toppling spree and saw Husk's casino, then he just found Husk and started gambling with him, then Husk gambled away everything, even his rationanilty, and he put his took out his soul to gamble, then failed miserably and lost his soul to Alastor(my head cannon, if I'm missing any details that disprove this theory, pls point it out for me)
i like the idea of being a overlord of gambling. its like a double edge sword, you can gain alot but also loose alot
Husk seemed protective of Angel even when he was annoyed with him. I wonder if he feels guilt over gambling away the souls he had as a overload.
I immediately thought that Zestial was the Overlord of theater. That would explain his age as well as why he still uses "thou"
I loved Keith David in this episode. All I could say after the end of the episode was "Man, Keith David has some pipes!"
