Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 гру 2024
- Here is a how-to/diy bathroom shaving shelf that I made out of pallet wood. It's a simple project that anyone can make and I think looks great too! Basic tools and a little creativity are all that is needed for a project like this. I hope this might give you some ideas for any similar projects that you might be thinking about:) Thanks for watching!

I own 100% of the audio and visual content in this video. All music is created for this channel by my brother in law, Trey Harris. Thanks bro!
not just a shelf, that's a complete shaving station. really cool!
ansiaaa thanks Ansiaaa!
I am a mental derelict when it comes to building things but I really like this channel. There is just something so cool and kind of relaxing about watching the time lapse of things being built.
rldubya82 Thanks so much! Glad you are liking the channel... also, if you like cool stuff being built over timelapse and FFWD, you gotta check out JimmyDiresta's channel! Seriously talented builder/maker of all sorts of cool stuff:)
Joe
homesteadonomics I just watched a couple of his videos. Cool stuff, thanks for the heads up.
Excellent. I enjoy throwing stuff into the sky of inspiration and seeing where it ends up.
Now that's a job well done. That shelf and the stuff on it screams classic. Which is awesome.
+Zeshan Sarwar Thanks so much Zeshan!
That is a truely beautiful bit of furniture who would ever guess where the wood came from, you have a true talent, all the very best
+mark such Thanks Mark… very much appreciated sir!
Joe
LOL The wind is like a shop vac.. well played.. well played..
+legion2k hahaha… very true… thanks for watching L2K:)
So simple (well, most of it!) and yet it looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing and showing me what I could be doing! Keep the videos coming!!
+Jony Patterson Glad you liked it Jony!
Joe
Just randomly stumbled on this video and completely love this shelf! The non-symmetrical design, the use of recycled materials, it's purpose and those hidden features... Great job!
Tracy Luegge n
Gotta build me one. Got a straight razor kit for Christmas and I need a good place to keep and display it! LOVE this build almost as much as the sunken green house.
Wow i'm not a guy but i'm pretty sure that i liked to have one of those on my bathroom. Very good! Thanks for sharing.
+Camila Teixeira haha... it could certainly be used for a variety of things...guys or girls things! Thanks for watching Camila and I'm glad you liked it:)
Joe
it's really cool that you appreciate what your wife bought you that your taking the time out to do this.
Thanks so much Mama!
Joe
You mean it's a gift to yourself! Nice job by the way.
This is such a great cabinet and i love all the little extras, mirror, brush holder etc.
Very nice! As usual. I really like the use of the romex for holding the cut throats! Nice collection too!
kevohh10 Thanks Kevohh! I like the look of the copper against those old razors... I was thinking about hammering out some old copper pipe but the romex was just too easy. But I think I'm going to include copper in some future vids for sure!
Joe
homesteadonomics I used some as pins through the joints of some frames I made for a couple posters the other day. I built the frames as usual and then drilled through the 45s and slid the romex in and cliped the ends. It added a bit of strength but mostly just looked cool. I love using that stuff where I can.
Clever! Enjoyed watching the video. Impressive.
Dennis M Thanks Dennis!
Great video! That's a fun little shavers shelf. Cheers!
Canadian Sasquatch Brewery Thanks CSB!
A gentlemans vanity. Very nice
Nice design, very practical
Love seeing pallet wood re-purposed. Reminds me of when I found a pallet made of almost clear southern yellow pine. A real treat up here in Northern Ontario, where white pine is the norm...
That is pretty sweet. I have not graduated to straight razors yet. Great looking collection.
Barrett Hageman Thanks Barrett! I haven't fully graduated either... I use them sparingly, most days it's the good ol' DE razor... usually a Merkur OC or one of the superspeeds:)
Joe
All I can say is WOW! That is so nice man, thanks for sharing
LOL! I knew *exactly* what that leather strap was for as soon as you unrolled it. My mother used to tell stories about her father shaving with a straight razor.
+MotherOfManyHorses Yep... it fits perfect tucked in there! My wifes grandfather still has his strop from when he was younger but not uses disposable razors. lol... we're moving in different directions!
That is awesome Joe.
Thanks Eric!
joe

Awesome video! Always looking for a fun and new project to do with pallet wood! Just started using the Art of Shavings, thinking of getting a straight edge razor.... Might need to build a new home for it!
The College Woodworker Thanks TCW! It's a fun project and glad to hear your getting into traditional shaving... it's a great way to save some money and have a better shave.... assuming you don't buy too many razors, soaps, etc,... hahah...thanks for watching!

Hey man
Great use of pallet wood. I love the layout and the little door you made! Super clever, I think I might make one myself. Not a huge fan of the dark stain, but to each his own! Just found your channel and subbed. Take care!
Edit: Changed my mind about the dark stain once I saw it in place at the end. I really like it in that light!
PonzLL Thanks Ponzll! Much appreciated and yes, the dark stain kinda scared me at first too but seemed to lighten up a bit in the bathroom environment! But if you decide to build one I think it'd look equally as nice with a lighter stain too. Give it a shot and if you don't like it you can always darken it later:) Thanks for watching!
Joe
wow, this is awesome!!!
thanks Ron!
Very good project. Direct to my list to do. Saludos mexico
Marcos Lopez Thanks Marcos! Much appreciated:)
Joe
Great work ! I love it
Thanks Ethan:)
Very cool! I like how this one turned out!
Bruce A. Ulrich Thanks Bruce! She's been holding up well and I only wish I would've built it sooner:)
homesteadonomics So, you've been into the old shaving stuff for some time then? I think it is cool. I've always wanted to learn to shave with a straight razor. My wife's grandmother has a strop that they used in the past in their bathroom.
Bruce A. Ulrich Hey Bruce, I only wish I would have gotten into traditional shaving sooner. Saves money on cartridges and it's such a far superior shave to the cartridges. I used to get ingrown hairs with the mach style cartridges... now I rarely if ever get them. I use a double edge razor most of the time but every so often I break out a straight and play around:) If you decide to get into it phoenixartisanaccoutraments.com or maggardrazors.com are good places to get razors, blades, soaps, brushes, etc,.
If you do order from phoenix artisan acctmts, tell Douglas that Joe Mooney sent you;)
Joe
homesteadonomics Interesting. I get ingrown hairs all of the time. I guess the hairs on my neck are super curly or something. I never thought about it being in part due to the shaving method. I'll check those out.
real sharp man !
+LISA Manis Thanks Lisa!
