LMAO !!!! @20:40 😁boy did I enjoy this video....👏🏾 hilarious. "And I was talking to my self the whole time" 😆Being a non bait maker it took me about a minute to catch on. BUT when I got it!!!! 🤣
You do know if you keep this up I'm going to have to start shooting plastic!!! Well done on this as a series, a great resource for seeing the actual color!!
Well... you better start making room in the shop then, LOL! I love it too much to quit, especially with quality stuff like this from Epic! Thanks Dan! My condolences to your wallet :).
New series with a new mold. Love it. I love the tail portion to make the different colored tails. I would make em just like you would fish em. So add the flake you like and let’s see the results.
For sure! We’ll use these molds in “regular” builds as well, when the aim isn’t to demo or compare the colors themselves. I’m actually really looking forward to stretching the legs of these molds to see what’s possible with em! Thanks for the support my friend!
Thank you for doing this series. I for one am a fan. It’s great to be able to see those colors and future colors in two different drop counts. Excellent video homie 👍🏽
I love that new bait. Kind of like a cross between a grub and creature bait. That would great for flipping and punching heavy cover or as a trailer for a chatterbait. I might have to put in an order with Epic baits.
WOW!!!!! What a launch of your new series which I’m sure will get better and better even though I don’t know how. You always go above and beyond. Agree that a little bit of flake makes it better, just my opinion. The Epic mold is awesome , thanks Adam ya just cost me the price of a tail mold as well as the body mold ,LOL. Keep on keepin on doing what you do best. We appreciate all the effort you put in for us.
Thank you much Paul - I always truly appreciate your kind words and support! When you pull the trigger you won't be disappointed! The possibilities are endless!
Awesome glad someone is taking time to do different colors and options for us newbie’s out here hope to see a lot more different colors to come it really helps and I would love to see what that color looked like that didn’t work out just for comparison if I see it somewhere else keep it up awesome
Thanks Robert! LOVE hearing that it’s a help to you, that was indeed the vision for the series! For the Char Pumpkin, you can, at a minimum, look it up on the LW website and see it there. I’m sure I’ll give it another try, see if I just had a bad bottle. Thanks again man!
I like both color combos, but my favorite is the Black Melon/Lava Craw. Just a thought, instead of going down to 1/16 oz. spoon, how about going up in size for your black flake to a .035 or .040, even a .062? That way the black won't saturate your color, but it will break the color up a little. Great video, going to be a fun series. I hope you have a fantastic rest of the week!
Hey Tim, thanks for the comment! You are not alone my friend, LOL! I’m going to experiment before Ep2… make sure it doesn’t look too “polka-dot-ish” given its only a 3.5” grub - may make that change, we’ll see! Thanks again!
Gold flake in the body and the tail would also be sweet. Love those new molds for sure. You must have had some top secret info in the part you didn't show 🤣
LOL, I wish I could say I did! So dumb... I look up to turn off the camera... and yet... its not on. Check the other one... it had actually powered down I talked to myself so long. Suck an idiot! Thanks for the feedback my friend!
That's awesome man! I have some Epicbait molds in my bait room, btw...I'm jealous of yours Being a "hobbyist", dreaming of the big time. And for that blessing,..well wish I were a youtuber, or still living down there,I'd apply They're awesome
Thanks for the support! Epic definitely went above and beyond my expectations, I am indeed a blessed bait maker! Kudos to them for their vision to help the baitmaking community and kindness to me (and many others in many different ways!). Just good people man :).
Nice to see another believer doing this. Im just really starting out so Im going with Do-It molds and a few cheaper stone molds to get going. If it goes well I'll upgrade to some CNC molds as theyre a bit out of my price range at the moment.
That’s a great place to start, although, I’d probably recommend silicon over stone. A lot of guys regret stone mold purchases as the baits tend to stick to the stone without a lot of lubricant. Do-It essential series and silicon will definitely get you started! If you do go with stone, don’t forget the lube!!
@@SDGCustomLurecraft Thanks for the advice, I about to invest in a few from FGF, A.I., and the Epic Ned you reviewed. Wife wont be happy, but this is a relaxing hobby that I really enjoy so.....
That gold is indeed a fantastic crappie bait color, especially when you add some gold flake to it for texture, Yowzah! I did that in the follow-on video to this one - melted down the baits and added flake… check it out if you like!
Gotta admit that I’ve never been a big fan of “menace style” baits… just was nvr impressed by the action/kicking of the tail… some versions tails are actually too short to even kick at all (or too stiff a plastic used). This new mold tho may certainly change my opinion! The tails look longer to me and possibly thinner, thus enabling an unmistakable kick that can’t be overlooked! Dig it!! …And as always Adam, your color choices and blends certainly don’t disappoint! I believe that Purple Zonker may be the best “purple” I’ve seen… simply awesome!
Thanks man!! I’ve got some ideas for ol’ Zonker - anxious to see if they pan out! As far as the tails… 100%. Your observations are correct, longer overall “oval” verse “circle” and thin - you could easily see through even at 2x the colorant. I’m going to slap a 4.5 on a buzz bait soon and let’er rip!
That would be killer! In the meantime you can bite off the extra from the 3.5. Claws would be bigger than a 2.5 option, but it would still work as an alternative!
My Personal experience with lurworks some of their colors do hardpack. I took one my my pegboard hooks that has the little ball tip cut the mounting side off chuck it in my drill and really bust it up. If it's not hardpacked then that sucks lol love to new mold from Epic !
Yeah, the jury’s still out on that bottle… I don’t know WHAT was going on there! I’ll probably add a bottle to a future order to try again… needless to say, that bottle was filed away in the old 13 drawer.
Hey Jacob, believe it or not, those are just “cheese spreaders” from Amazon, LOL! I wanted something without a serrated edge to clean the sides of the cups well. Those tend to work out nicely!
Cool man, thanks Shane! I did consider that… all the more important to limit the amount to juuuuuust a hair. I almost went to 0.035-40 but was concerned that it would be a bit too “polka-dot-y” given it’s just 1 3.5” grub. I’ll likely experiment with larger flake for Ep 2… see if it’s better. 100% with you though, small flake can almost act like powder, change things a bunch (especially the super fine stuff!). Appreciate the feedback, glad you dig the series!
I put small amounts of black flake in white, chartreuse, and most transparent colors. I call them little bullseye. I have been makingblures for over 30 years. Fish do respond to these little black bullseye. Remember small amounts.
Yeah, most do to some degree, some more than others for sure! Green Pumpkin Green from MF is a more “straight forward” dark green. Thanks for the feedback!
Very addicting and rewarding when it comes together. Definitely cleanup, but isn’t there always? LOL (this is me justifying) If you ever decide to take the plunge… prepare to shuck out some cash… 1-2 molds and a couple pigments/flake options are never enough :)
I really like the video and all color choices. I like all your work but I disagree with one thing you said in the video and that was that epic bait didn't charge you for those molds. Thanks have a great night and God Bless You and Yours
Glad you liked the video! Not sure I follow your comment about not charging me for the molds though. Do you mean you feel I should have bought them, or do you not believe me when I said they sent them to me free of charge to use as their contribution to the collaboration/demo series? Just curious where you’re coming from, sorry if I’m misunderstanding something.
@@SDGCustomLurecraft yes I believe you I believe in you and your work or I would not have subscribed to your channel. The reason I said what I said was that they would not donate molds to anyone else. Maybe I should not have said what I did and if you think I am wrong I apologize and I hope it didn't hurt anything. Like I said God bless you and yours
I hear ya Dennis, definitely similar! That said, I do encourage you to check out the video right after this one where I melt down the baits I made, add flake, and reshoot as laminates etc. Aside from that fun, I also take a few minutes to cover what makes this “version” a little different from the other popular choices. In this case, the action is definitely affected (positively) by the nuances differences that, IMO, sets this one apart from the other options (even the OG from Strike King). Each to their own though!
