I gotta say that I liked the 747 better. a airliner vs a alien space ship. but I understand why it was taken out since this movie was released around the time of 9/11. a hijacked airliner flying through a city would have given out the wrong idea. still, I'm glad I can enjoy the original clip.
But, to who? Who would it give out the wrong idea to? I'm gonna be honest here, I might be one of the few people who don't always assosiate a derailing plane in a large city with 9/11, probably because it's a very common thing in movies.
@@GoodMorningUSA1 its the time period. Lilo and stitch happened very near after 9/11 happened. There was no way people wouldnt connect the two together. Disney is a very good at keeping all types of people happy and in no way would risk their way to make maximum profits to keep a scene in that could be confused as insensitve.
@@GoodMorningUSA1 right. Since lilo and stitch was a day away from being complete and 9/11 occurred, the scene was changed up and the film delayed for a bit longer.
If they kept these deleted scenes, Lilo & Stitch would have been the greatest Disney movie of all time Not to mention an undeniable contender for an Oscar. The movie would have given better enotional understanding of the characters that would've elevated the movies quality to a whole new level. Stitch's transition from evil to good would be more natural. We'd get a deeper and more powerful depth on what causes Lilo's behavior. And we'd see how Jumba's attempt at creating 626 was done with some good intent, and while he is a mad genius, he was never evil overall. I feel I can safely say that this movie would have put every other Disney movie before it to shame. It's too bad that those particular scenes were ahead of its time
To be honest, this is still my favourite disney movie of all time and one of my favourite movies in general. Even without those deleted scenes. But I agree with you, it could be even better if they kept some of these scenes.
@@AverageMoose that rarely ever happens with animated movies, but it has happened. beauty and the beast got a deleted scnene animated for the dvd release and so did the iron giant years later

They reworked it to the final version of Stitch going crazy due to camera flashes. The only thing they kept was thr people running away and Bubbles on the scene.
"If you lived here you'd understand." is such a good line, I wish they left that scene in. Let mainlanders know they can be obnoxious, maybe smuggle the thought into peoples brain to be more respectful when they visit.
I kinda love the idea of them using a normal earth airplane for the climax battle. I’m guessing since it came out in 2002 planes with buildings was a sensitive topic which was why it was removed. Sucks to have a bunch of fully animated scenes scrapped because of something that happens irl like 9 months before the movie comes out.
I honestly would of preferred seeing the jumbo jet mainly due to the fact that jumbas ship size was a bit inconsistent in the other movies I do understand why it was pulled.
I think that was just the animators or something recording for the storyboard. Sometimes they just have crew members record the lines for these reels before getting the final voice actors.
Hello Disney Fanatic, it is really nice too see you here. Just finished watching Bride of Discord for x time and I thought maybe now something from my childhood... I am heck of a lucky man. How are you doing
The bit when she asked if she called the rabbit store and said she was worth 20 rabbits honestly would’ve been way better than what was left in the movie
It’s fascinating recognising how they reworked storyboards and voice lines from the cut scenes into being in the final version of the film. One example from the cut 747 scene: -Stitch falling, bouncing, and ending up with the frog in front of the truck - reused in the scene where Stitch first lands on earth, and ends up at the pound.
In the 747 sequence version 2 I kinda like it a little more then the original but like most of us know it had to be removed because of the events of 9/11 like when stitch is hijacking the plane it makes it look like a threat of terrorism.
I really liked the scenes with the aliens at the start. Would have made them feel more like characters and not plot devices. Also I had completely forgotten about the fish so when people in comments talked about the death of Pudge, I thought they meant the ice cream guy.
Agreed. Especially the "Show us just the tiniest bit of goodness" she is asking for him. That really explains how quickly she agrees to letting Stitch stay on earth.
Here’s a little story on why it was changed. When production of the movie began, Jumba was originally a bounty hunter that was sent to Earth to capture Stitch. But the filmmakers decided that they wanted Jumba to know a lot about Stitch and understand his character. Initially, Stitch was the leader of this intergalactic gang. So they changed Jumba to be a former member who was left behind in a bank heist and had been rotting in prison for several years. He (like in the movie) would then be offered freedom in exchange for Stitch’s capture. When they had test screenings for Disney executives, Roy Disney went up to the directors and said “I liked Stitch when I thought he was young. But when i found out he was some 35 year old gangster, i was disappointed.” They realized that the gang wasn’t working. So they removed the gang completely from the movie and decided to make Jumba the scientist that created Stitch as the reason for his imprisonment.
Yes, the Pudge scene is dark. But I think that it would have still fit in the movie. Remember that the movie is about Stitch's character growth from being a jerk. So imagine seeing Stitch, who we see here watching Lilo in danger and Pudge dying right in front of him almost with glee to then later in the movie seeing him completely changed and now rising to the occasion to rescue Lilo when she gets taken by Gantu. The climax in a way mirrors this scene, and would make Lilo's words "you don't let your family die, you don't ever!" and "I needed you" resonate all the more. Not a complaint against the final movie though, I understand why it must have been taken out.
Wish they kept in the Bedtime Story and Pudge scenes. They give more personality and depth to the characters, and the bedtime one is really really cute! The Pudge one also shows us how much Lilo’s parents’ deaths have affected her (her choosing to bury Pudge at their graves and saying her mom gave them decorations as the flowers fell, showing how familiar she is with that area and how she still feels like her parents are with her and watching over her. Almost made me cry). And it definitely helped shape Stitch, realizing what Lilo’s words meant (“You never let family die! Ever!”) and realizing how bad his actions were, and showing remorse for it. Overall just a REALLY GOOD SCENE
@@WindiChilliwack of course it makes sense just seems a bit extreme for kids and i was a kid when this came out. It would have ruined liking stitch for me.
I’m so glad they didn’t include Pudge’s death. That for me would have absolutely ruined the film. That was awful. Part of the beauty of the first film was the lack of direct tragedy. The main form was the tale of Lilo’s parent’s deaths. That was touching enough to affect the audience, yet not dark enough to really negatively affect people.
i really liked it, its the circle of life and everyone has to let go at one point. I know this since i also lost my parents in a tragic way. so holding onto something will never help a person grow. I think it would’ve been an element that helped piece together why Lilo is the way she is.
Huh, feels a shame that Pudges death didn’t make final cut, powerful scene. Feels like it belonged in the final cut, being you never reely see pudge just that she feeds sandwiches to the fish. It seems like a proper build up and character building moment.
I really wish they kept the Pudge the Fish scene ‘cause that would have added so much to Stitch’s character development but at least we can see these scenes on UA-cam.
I don’t understand that. It was the most unnatural character development I’ve ever seen. As she’s screaming and crying in total desperation he just watches smiling like a total psychopath. And then she just yells at him afterwards and suddenly he feels bad? That doesn’t make any sense. I don’t think I would have been able to connect with him after that scene at all.
Anna Taymond, I get the point but Stitch did not understand the concept of life and death. He didn’t realize that he was killing Pudge and upon seeing the graves of Lilo’s parents, he understands that eventually people die and never come back and he understood what he did wrong. I can get people disliking the scene though.
I like the 747 scene. It is a great scene. Theoretically speaking, can you imagine what would have happened to Disney if the movie included the 747 scene and was released a few weeks before 911? They would have been blamed for giving the terrorists the idea. Lilo and Stitch is my favorite Disney animated movie. The final edit is very good.. The orchestration is excellent and the voice acting is superb. The plot and sub plots are meaningful and entertaining. I love when Lilo prays to God for an angel and God delivers but this is not realized until Stitch goes through his personal arc. The story moves into another phase when Stitch prays to God saying "I'm Lost". To me, this gives the movie real meaning. It links Lilo and Stitch as two that need to be together. He says it once, after looking again at the book, then truly realizing his condition, he stands up looks up to heaven and says '"I'm Lost".
Daniel Crowley Well. I just looked at people's comments on Facebook book they said they seen kids saw violence and they turned out fine. They saw violence such as Tom and Jerry, Ren and Stimpy and Classic Superhero action packed tv shows. One of them said they grew up watching a horror movie plus there are other Disney movies that have blood such as Mulan and Bambi. Don't say I'm out of my mind. But I sorta believe they might actually be right I do easily influenced them. And the other websites. And I think the reason why everything in TV and Movies and everything outside the world is changed is because of 9/11. Sure this improved scene is more funny but not everyone is fond with it. Some just like it more strong, dark and emotional. What do you think? I'm just saying. Also the original version is more realistic than the edited version.
oh damn, i am so glad i stayed to see that bonus of my favourite car pulling off an insane maneuver from the deleted scenes of one of my favourite movies... jeeez thats a heck of a grand prize winning trivia scenario
i live in hawaii and the tsunami alarm is the funniest thing ever. it actually happened today and theres a video of confused tourists 💀. locals should’ve acted like lilo, would’ve been so funny. 🤣🤣🤣🙌🏽
Happy 20th anniversary to Lilo and Stitch, and don’t forget to use toothpaste, a comb, and other stuff like that instead of a saw, an axe, and a dart to throw at doors.
Honorable mention to the scene where Lilo hides in the dryer, which was removed from the British version, and subsequently from the Disney+ version. And oh my God, the tourist scene was amazing...
TBH, i wish they should've kept the Pudge part. It couldve have an in-depth character development in Stitch's character. And also the OG Jumba vs Stitch, and the 1st 747 sequence. But i guess it makes sense because of 9/11. But they could've added the extra intresting character in there.
It was extremely unnatural, he was a total psychopath smiling at the suffocating fish being attacked by birds while Lilo was crying and screaming for his help, that he was amused by but when she just scolded him after sudden he felt bad? It doesn’t make any sense.
I can understand why they removed the scene with Pludge because it makes Stitch responsible for murdering someone that Lilo considered almost as a family member which would clearly become a problem for Stitch ´s redemption. Now, I think they could also have changed the scene by having the seagulls killing Pludge while Stitch is not responsible but still enjoying the moment.
The house fight is such an interesting study. They must've screened an early cut for test audiences, and feedback suggested the fight was too violent or scary for young children, so they went back and basically re-boarded the entire sequence. It's interesting to compare the two versions side-by-side, because almost every shot of Jumba was replaced, and in the final version of the scene, his design was tweaked slightly to make him smaller and less imposing. Only a couple shots from the original sneak through to the final cut, and those shots can almost feel out of place with the rest of the scene. What I find interesting about it is not only that they changed the scene, but that they really tried to make Jumba seem as not-scary as possible.
Here’s a little fun fact on why they changed this scene. The directors had said that they always intended the house to be a funny scene and they thought what they came up with was pretty funny. However, in one of the test screenings, nobody in the audience found the scene funny. They were actually concerned that Stitch was gonna get hurt. Which wasn’t their intentions. So they decided to go back and beef the scene up a bit by adding a lot more jokes and toning down the violence a bit
@@superjackster0165 my biggest gripe with the original scene was Stitch using Lilo as a shield in the beginning. Just felt wrong, especially at that point in the story
LILO and stitch came out only 9 months after 9/11. I can see why a hijacked plane, or a plane going crazy through a city would be hard for the people who survived the attacks or lost family in the attacks because it hadn’t even been a year so the wound was still fresh.
The reason that the airplane scene was deleted it was because at that time, the 9/11 event happened. Because of that, they changed the plane into an alien ship and the city into the plains and mountains so that the audience won’t be reminded of the traumatizing event.
The reasons why some of these were deleted: Stitch’s Trial- Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois thought the Intergalactic Council had to blame Jumba for creating Stitch Bedtime Story- Test audiences had mistaken Nani for Lilo's mother Jumba Attacks (Original Version)- Test audiences found it too violent 747 Hijacking- 9/11

It has Lilos perspective of tourists and how she is treated. Her character has a funny relationship with visitors of the island and it was portrayed a few times in the movie. She taked pictures of them in an almost satiric and inverse way tourists would with her and her island. I wish it stayed in to keep the idea of how colonialism has affected her and Hawaii
Nice Rocket Power Reference
@@kirstieg.2954 colonialism? tourist attraction?
Ummm no, tourist is not colonialism that's just a really stupid thing to say, people have been visiting each other since begin of time.
@@MouseGoat Hawaii was colonized and then annexed into the USA. Tourism isn't homogenous and history impacts tourism; colonialism has an impact on tourism. Hawaii's colonization impacts Hawaii's tourist industry.
If this movie was made by dreamworks most of these would've made it into the final cut
Luis O in the sense Dreamworks is willing to be a bit more riskier and darker then Disney?
Grady Childs Yes
DreamWorks does more riskier with Shrek
Except the plain one the reason it wasn't put in was 911 had just happened
True
I gotta say that I liked the 747 better. a airliner vs a alien space ship. but I understand why it was taken out since this movie was released around the time of 9/11. a hijacked airliner flying through a city would have given out the wrong idea. still, I'm glad I can enjoy the original clip.
Not to mention, like Jumbaa says, "What? You think we walked here?" I mean DUH of course they would already have transportation!
After 9/11 you weren't even allowed to mention planes or buildings.
@@GoodMorningUSA1 right. Since lilo and stitch was a day away from being complete and 9/11 occurred, the scene was changed up and the film delayed for a bit longer.
If they kept these deleted scenes, Lilo & Stitch would have been the greatest Disney movie of all time
Not to mention an undeniable contender for an Oscar.
I mean it was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. I think that’s pretty good.
@@AverageMoose that rarely ever happens with animated movies, but it has happened. beauty and the beast got a deleted scnene animated for the dvd release and so did the iron giant years later
Matt Ayala, Absolutely true!
But lost to Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirted Away! Oh well, at least this movie did well! 👍👍👍👍👍
Average Moose yes if you bought the dvd and downloaded the cut out scenes off of youtube and put it in final cut and edited the dvd yourself. you could do it for your own self but you couldn't sell it or anything obviously
Some of these scenes would have provided some rather valuable context....
They should have kept the siren scene!
Yeah, that was hilarious.
I want to do that one day.
But they keeped it?
I remember that scene as a kid 0.o
Kept it. Well i've never seen it and i've watched the film a bunch
They reworked it to the final version of Stitch going crazy due to camera flashes. The only thing they kept was thr people running away and Bubbles on the scene.
Kylie Punky Pixie Dowers so far my favorite deleted scene
"If you lived here you'd understand." is such a good line, I wish they left that scene in. Let mainlanders know they can be obnoxious, maybe smuggle the thought into peoples brain to be more respectful when they visit.

Can't believe the girl who voices Lilo is Samara in The Ring!!! O_O
Daniel Selk and Chihiro in Spirited Away
Daveigh Chase?
I was seven/eight when both those films came out. I knew Daveigh Chase was Lilo its what helped make Samara less scary to me lol.
WAIT, AIYA!? HOLD ON. SHE PLAYED AS SAMARA?
I know it's weird
As a person who actually lives in Hawaii, I’d do the Tsunami scene.
I like your way of thinking.
I’m sorry bro about what people from the lower 48 states say and do.
I kinda love the idea of them using a normal earth airplane for the climax battle. I’m guessing since it came out in 2002 planes with buildings was a sensitive topic which was why it was removed. Sucks to have a bunch of fully animated scenes scrapped because of something that happens irl like 9 months before the movie comes out.
lmao the tsunami part was actually kind of funny and I liked the bed time story scene 😭
I honestly would of preferred seeing the jumbo jet mainly due to the fact that jumbas ship size was a bit inconsistent in the other movies I do understand why it was pulled.
“TOURISTS PREPARE TO DIE”
They should have kept the scene of the cemetery, it's too touching ❤️🌸 Stitch begins to understand there's love and sadness in the world too.
It would have also helped Stitch’s development and also so people understand Lilo’s quirky behavior and why certain things are so important to her ..
Well never mind that. Just accept the fact that Lilo & Stitch is still a truly classic masterpiece even to this day.
Man, Gantu's original voice was... weird. Glad someone realized it and they got Kevin Michael Richardson to voice him instead.

Lol he just sat there with a smile and let pudge die 😂 Stitch is wild
The bit when she asked if she called the rabbit store and said she was worth 20 rabbits honestly would’ve been way better than what was left in the movie
Pudge's death was way to violent to be put in the movie. I'm glad they left it out.
The film can be heart breaking enough
Afina_Della-Cyra {Real Name Kylie} I like the way how they put this on.
J mac Hero, I'm sorry but *I like the way how they put this on* doesn't make sense
Afina_Della-Cyra {Real Name Kylie} I mean I like those dark and emotional original scenes. It's more dramatic.
Afina_Della-Cyra {Real Name Kylie} well?
It’s fascinating recognising how they reworked storyboards and voice lines from the cut scenes into being in the final version of the film.
One example from the cut 747 scene:
-Stitch falling, bouncing, and ending up with the frog in front of the truck - reused in the scene where Stitch first lands on earth, and ends up at the pound.
I know that the 747 scene was changed because of 9/11 and how it almost resembles it
The frog scene is actually still in the film. Its how stitch gets back to the ship
That aeroplane scene was amazing 😮 it has to be the greatest cut scene in an animated film ever (imo)
In the 747 sequence version 2 I kinda like it a little more then the original but like most of us know it had to be removed because of the events of 9/11 like when stitch is hijacking the plane it makes it look like a threat of terrorism.
I hate that scene!! But I like the theatrical scene!!!
9:27 THEY PREDICTED MOANA
@@superjackster0165 remember reading that info from the Wikipedia page for the movie
@@Mr.Feather130 They also talked about it in the Audio Commentary on the DVD
@@superjackster0165 Yeah Especially it’s pretty interesting to see on what the original story for the film is going to be until it was changed
Wow, some of these scenes were more PG than the movie itself.
Love these scenes. It makes the characters feel more alive. Wish they made it into the final film.
The bedtime story and pudge scenes became the plot about the hula contest in Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch!
"Ma-hay-lo."
I'm happy that they cut the Death of Pudge scene. It would've made Stitch look pretty sadistic.
Real but raw kind of thing.
I mean, considering he had been in prison, and created with is destructive behavior, i'd say that it make sense.
@@WindiChilliwack of course it makes sense just seems a bit extreme for kids and i was a kid when this came out. It would have ruined liking stitch for me.
this scene could have been the difference between a disney and a ghibli
I kinda like Jumbas original attack. It's just pure chaos. Who intentionally blows themselves up? This guy does. That's who.
Pudge’s death scene was definitely I reasonable choice to scrub it from the movie. Little dark
I feel bad for Lilo in the pudge death scene. This scene is really sad 😭
I can't stop replaying 1:55 xD
The fact that this movie was going to be darker than the original is kind of insane lmfao
It put the black cauldron to shame on being a surprisingly dark Disney film
OMG the man with the Ice-cream, how can I forget him
I really wish they kept the Pudge the Fish scene ‘cause that would have added so much to Stitch’s character development but at least we can see these scenes on UA-cam.

The Pudge scene was rewritten as Stitch's nightmare in the opening of Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch!
Thanks for uploading this.
To this day, I still think whatever Stitch had said to the council is simply translated to "F*** you"
Changing the Walt Disney Pictures logo in the movie was a stupid idea.
Robert the Channel Yep,it looked so cool.
I think the one they used is good too tho
The one they used reminds me of the flashlight version of the logo at the time
Eh, I think the one in the final movie is pretty cool anyway.
Why don't they just make this original for a 10th or 15th anniversary? Bet it'll be a huge hit.
Let's call it "Lilo & Stitch Ultimate Cut Anniversary"

The fake tsunami scene did a great job of portraying racism from dumbass tourists, while also laughing at their expense.
Ironically when they "Disneyed" up this movie, they made it way better.
Daniel Crowley You think? Are you talking about the edited version?
I'm not sure how you could be confused about that comment, but yes.
Daniel Crowley I know they changed the plane scene because of 9/11 but Jumba's attack? Why?
It's not funny, they changed it for the better.
JESUS no wonder they changed Jumba's attack
Disney+ posted an earlier version of that deleted scene
Yeah, it has stitch using lilo as a body shield instead of pushing her away
Call me crazy, but I really wish that version was in the final film even though it's more violent than what we got.

Disney could be reanimating these scenes and making an extended cut of the movie, but no, MUST LIVE ACTION REMAKE.
Disney did reanimate these scenes. Watch Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch!
This didn’t age well.

Ha! I remember Day Watch... and Night Watch.
I wish they make a remastered of Lilo & Stitch that include most or all of these scenes and add them into the movie.
Happy 20th anniversary to Lilo and Stitch, and don’t forget to use toothpaste, a comb, and other stuff like that instead of a saw, an axe, and a dart to throw at doors.
The 747 scene: IT CUT HIS HAND LOOK FOR YOUR SELF!!!!!
Sans The skelly OMG ANIMATORS THIS MOVIE IS FOR KIDS NO GORE!
I agree with you. Also, its Jumba, not Jamba.
XD
It was extremely unnatural, he was a total psychopath smiling at the suffocating fish being attacked by birds while Lilo was crying and screaming for his help, that he was amused by but when she just scolded him after sudden he felt bad? It doesn’t make any sense.
Thanks for posting
13:33 Wow Tie fighter sound Effect!
Nope. I would've sobbed about that fish. I'm so glad they didn't add that in.
My goodness those birds just vicious.... Out of nowhere too.
13:46 - 13:47
After listening to that part very carefully, the way Jumba said, "That worked...." sounds almost identical to Buzz Lightyear's line
We need an uncut version of this movie for the anniversary.
They made a sequel that explores the dark themes of the deleted scenes! It's called Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch.
I’m glad they made the decision to keep most the movie ON earth after the intro in the final cut. Makes the human stuff more impactful.
OMG THE TSUNAMI ONE IT'S PERFECT XDDD
Fun fact: 626's first line in the film was, "Meega, nala kweesta!" That means, "I want to destroy!"
I dont understand how the 747 scene is even related to the 9/11. It didnt even hit a building.
I think it's more so the fact they hijacked a plane, though it flying dangerously close to the city probably didn't help.
LILO and stitch came out only 9 months after 9/11. I can see why a hijacked plane, or a plane going crazy through a city would be hard for the people who survived the attacks or lost family in the attacks because it hadn’t even been a year so the wound was still fresh.
I don't know why, but seeing animation in just pencil is so satisfying
Agreed.
"As long as hes angry he will stay!" He: "I would leave but they made me so angry!"
The reason that the airplane scene was deleted it was because at that time, the 9/11 event happened. Because of that, they changed the plane into an alien ship and the city into the plains and mountains so that the audience won’t be reminded of the traumatizing event.
While I understand and respect the decision to replace the plane scene, the original chase through the city is so much more fun.
wow some of these were cut super last minute, some of these animations were basically finished
The reasons why some of these were deleted:
Stitch’s Trial- Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois thought the Intergalactic Council had to blame Jumba for creating Stitch
Bedtime Story- Test audiences had mistaken Nani for Lilo's mother
Jumba Attacks (Original Version)- Test audiences found it too violent
747 Hijacking- 9/11
Stitch and the Grinch are my favorite reformed characters.
