Upgraded to the Apple Watch Series 8 from the first gen SE and to me it was a big upgrade. Having more health features such as the ECG and Blood Oxygen is great as well as the AOD. I also see improvement in battery life. So far I’m loving it.
I’m an athlete I go very hard I sprint jump high and fast and do powerful movement I don’t do cardio would those features apply to me gingy? Or should I just go with the 7 my hands and fingers are big if that’s significant?
I love my series 7 45mm . I like the fact that I can check my blood glucose level without having to pull out my meter. It saves time and keeps me more compliant with my glucose level.
The processor on the S8 is simply a rebranded S6. Apple has not announced a performance bump since the S6. This is a plus for those looking to purchase an older model.
Currently deciding which apple watch to get, to help manage my anxiety by tracking my heart rate. The ECG is definitely my favourite feature on the watch!
S7 and S8 are literally the same chips except for the required hardware on the chip to support the thermometer and crash detection. The performance will be the exact same since the processor part of the SoC is literally the same.
Just upgraded from an SE 1st Gen to the Series 8. Where I'm from, there wasnt that much of a price jump from the S7 to the S8 so i just decided to get the newer one. I love how much darker the Midnight is!
I got my series 7 a couple weeks before the series 8 launched. I'm still really happy and satisfied with my 7. I dont think I'll really need the temperature sensing because I dont really wear my Apple Watch frequently. great video as always dion!

Thanks for this review! In this part of Europe the difference between 7 and 8 is 100 euros (7 retailing for 420 and 8 for 520). Hence after watching your video the decision was made in favor of the 7 🙂

The series 8 literally only has 2 new features: crash detection and temperature sensing. I don't think it's worth $100 more, the series 7 is also a way better value than the SE. Otherwise, if you have a lot of cash, you could go for the Ultra.
I have the series 7 45 mm Nike edition and sentimental, because I love Nike And it’s it last time apple would be having the nine logo in the watch instead of the watch band
@mwikston I have a family history of heart conditions, so I love that it can take ECGs and send abnormal heart beat alerts. I don’t suspect I have anything to worry about, but with my family history, those features would just be amazing peace of mind. I don’t have an apple watch yet, but this review was really helpful! I’ve been looking for reviews on these watches based on the same reasons and almost no one speaks in-depth about these features. Wasn’t sure how accurate those features are. I want to track blood, oxygen and heart. I heard it tracks your temperature to let you know if your getting sick from a reviewer but didn’t hear much else on the topic Edit: further into the video he explained both watches 7&8 has those features so that helped
According to my past experience, it's very important to buy technologies as newer as possible. I bought iPhone SE 2020 in 2021 and unfortunately I had issues with LTE during my trip to SF in 2022. 5G has much better coverage in SF than LTE. So, in case of Apple Watch 8, the chip series 8 should be supported much longer.
What do you think about the default watch face in series 7 vs 8? I think the default watch face is way better in series 7 than series 8. I’m not sure if I can get similar watch face on series 8😢 because the default watch face of series 8 sucks

I love my 6, but my son got hold of it one day and planted a few deep and ugly scratches on the display, which are impossible to ignore. I’m toying with the idea of getting the 7, simply as it won’t be as expensive as the 8.

I've seen someone is still using the series 3 and 4 from 2017 and 2018 till this day which is quite long and I am really amazed they are still working great. Additionally, the series 4 which was from 2018 along with the iPhone xr and xs still receives a major update. This is one of the reason why I am attracted to the apple watch as my future and my next smartwatch. It is also easy to consider which model is suitable for me as a student, so I might go for the SE2 as I don't really use all the additional feature in series 8 and Ultra for example the temperature sensing, ecg and blood oxygen, U1 ultra wideband and fast charging features. Thinking about it, why do I need all those as a student?

You got one detail wrong, I am aware that I’m about 2 months. The S8 chip is a rebranded S7 chip meaning there’s nothing new with the performance. You can do the research, there is no chip improvements or benefits with the S8/ S7 chip, all of the stats were found to be exactly the same as the S7 chip.

Hence, it take a lot of time to calculate their menstrual cycle since each women may not have the exact date of mestruation. Furthermore, the accident crash detector, this was even designed even better since accidents like crashes should be aid ASAP. These features are awesome! Btw, I love watching your videos! The watch itself is unblemished. No scratches and bumps. And battery health at 100% Coming from the Apple Watch SE1, I believe I got a really good bargain. I can forego of the new things added on the Series 8. I don’t need the temperature sensing and I don’t drive. Thank you for making your content. Completely agree! I was able to get a series 7 space black titanium model refurbished in excellent condition for $300. And with this model I’m getting better features than an aluminum s8 because I’m getting the sapphire screen!

In terms of support, the S6, S7, and S8 all have the same processor, so I’d expect there would be no difference in that.
It’s an annual difference, so expect a year of additional support, not years. Not sure where that math is coming from

They are capable of fast charging, but you still have to bring your own power brick (which should be according to Apple 18 Watt or above)

I've heard the SIP S7 of the Series 7 was the same processor as the SIP S8 of the Series 8, it's just the name that changed
