Hey man! Really like this video. Since I have a kid, I care about her comfort in the back seat! I'm going to look into this modification. For the longest time, I've noticed the rear AC vents do not blow hard at all compared to the fronts. Thinking about retrofitting an AC blower for the rear. Haven't done enough research yet!
Honestly, cool to see the mod. Me personally, this is like a "let me cater to my passengers" type of mod, and I ain't going though all that so the back seaters can get a usb. screw them lol
I heard o e of the usb should light at night but not sure if you need to do the full installation for that , the one that you won’t loose the 12v charger by removing central panel , great video, thanks !!!
looks good and would probably be a great product if you didnt have to lose the 12v plug in the center console. I use that for my own charging, why sacrifice a device for another thats only gonna work for the back. If everything worked then itd be a good product.
The alternative would have been to do it correctly, and get to the underside of the 12v plug, where it could have just been disconnected and the harness plugged in, keeping all functionality. That said, you do need to take apart some of the center console to do that. So if you CBA to do that, this might be easier.
Well I'm in Texas so not much snow but it did fine in our ice storm a few years back. At the end of the day its an all weather car like a lot of others
@@ColoredinLight I figured since in Germany it does snow and Golfs are like the #1 sold car there but here in the USA seems everyone needs an SUV or a Pickup 4x4 to do what the Europeans do in a VW Golf. That has always puzzled me🤔
I haven't checked, probably not. I have a tray that covers it anyways and I never use it but you could retain it by splicing into the wire instead of cutting it.

The gray wire is the positive of the background lamp power supply，this double TYPE-A ports usb charger hasn't background lamp.

You should get the touchpad climate control panel on there!

I'd assume you could always splice a connector into it. I went the easy route since I never use that plug.
