The waiter has a personal preference and wants to offer it all the time and mixed with everything. His style is comically structured and hard attempt to find special meals. The customer is just to eat basic canteen food like stuff - which he finally orders even though the waiter so badly tries to offer high end food for him.
Point was: finnish guy have no idea what those were and chose something stereotypical and simple. I'm surprised it was not potato mash and sausage. I did try to translate "Lenkkimakkara" but could not find name for that sausage. Swedish version would have had meatballs. All nordics would have asked a class of milk.
yes, in places where the food is bad companies insist waiters to sell lot of alcohol, and when the sales is not good it's the customer servants fault. I guess nothing changed since 90'
Hi, great stuff. I'd recommend reacting to Kummeli's Murtovarkaat, Selviytyjät and Duo Tremolo next. They're kind of like horror movie parodies with the whole violin screeching thing. These three are mostly based on situation comedy with almost no Finnish spoken so it might be more easier to understand.
The guy is in Greece and the waiter is telling him about all the options they have. As a funny side note, all specials include the blue Greek spirit curacao ("a drop of curacao"). The customer, as a typical Finn is too afraid to try anything new and goes for the familiar Finnish dish of mashed potatoes with minced meat sauce (think pasta bolognese with potatoes instead of spageghti). When in Greece, please give me all the delicious Greek foods: feta cheese pies, gyros, shish kebabs, olive oil, black olives, belissimo!
The actor for the waiter is Timo Kahilainen and he often speaks in a really funny way in these sketches. I love it.

I guess the same sketch in Italia would be that the guy always thinks that his mother's cooking is better than the restaurants'.
