Roger passed away last year 8th december 2018. He had a full and fruitfull life. He was father to dozens of babies. For the last two years he settled down in old age aparently. He was about 12. RIP bud.

Like they said in the documentary, Roger grew up unafraid of people because Brolga rescued him as a joey and raised him. as the oldest and strongest kangaroo in the sanctuary, that made him a super aggressive alpha male. it may be a risk keeping him at the Sanctuary, but it's a much bigger risk releasing him into the wild where he could hurt someone. at least Brolga has the know-how to deal with him. and no, "just shoot him" is not an acceptable answer. You can't punish a wild animal for behaving like a wild animal.

That was an non alpha Eastern Grey. Roger is a alpha Western Red and this guy doesn't have pig dogs to distract him.
pretty sure the other guy punched a GRAY kangaroo, which is very different thing than a RED kangaroo like Roger here. Red kangaroos are much bigger (can reach 7 ft tall) and more aggressive than gray kangaroos are, and as you see here they are jacked

So when Roger was chasing him and he fell and hurt himself obviously Roger than caught right up.. I'm wondering what did he do when he got to his injured owner? Did he leave him alone? In another interview he said Roger wanted to kill him at times, I wonder if he really would since that's who raised him? So many questions and I do know unfortunately he has now passed away. Kangaroos are fascinating regardless!
