I like how this area is The Impact Site and The Final Trial Together, while the Dream Den is where the Main Engine was, ending the adventure where it started all; I was amazed when I have realized that. I'm Glad to have played Pikmin before playing 2.
This particular track meant a lot to me as a kid. More like it meant 'be more careful than usual', but its haunting tone still makes me pause to this day. As one of the last games I got from Blockbuster and one of the ones I love the most, I gotta say knowing you're at least 75% through the game gets scary with the new creatures and mechanics. I wish people could see the Pikmin series like any other Nintendo IP; from the beginning and how its progressed. I hope you new players get to see this...
Bro, when I first uncovered the spider webbing, revealing the Onion landing platform underneath, I was in awe. Wistful Wilds is such a poetic end to such a great game, I love it so much. Things like this are why I love Pikmin 2 as much as I do.
This song really makes me feel wistful. I associate it with the easier and more peaceful days of childhood where I spent a decent portion of my time playing this game up to day 300. Even after doing everything I kept playing. I wish I could go back to that gentle time.
I literally listen to this song for the same reason. It reminds me when I had somewhat of a good perception on life and everyone was still around. Now I have the big Depresso 👍
I got bored, and decided to write a sort of musical-style duet to this song- the lyrics in italics are Louie's, and the lyrics in regular text are Olimar's. I kind of got tired in the middle, so this is all you're getting for now. Hang tight, my friend, I'm coming to save you After everything, how could I forget you? _Wander around in a world that's against me_ _After everything, how could you forget me?_ I've made no greater mistake in all of my years It keeps getting harder to hold back my tears _I feel my life draining with each passing day_ _Don't come crawling back, or else I'll make you pay_ (both) Everything's trying to kill me, (at the same time) but it must be harder for you / _and I won't ever forgive you_ Hang tight, my friend, I'm coming to save you After everything, how could I forget you? _Wander around in a world that's against me_ _After everything, how could you forget me?_ His help is minimal, but at least it's something Through all the poison, the shocks, and the burning _On an empty stomach, I feel myself slipping_ _Still running from creatures, the flying and creeping_ (both) Everything's trying to kill me, (at the same time) but I'm still coming for you / _how could I have trusted you?_ (End at 0:56)
I always feel a bit sad listening to this, because I think about the ways in which this area is supposedly different fro, the others in the game (Louie being lost, and Olimar mentions at one point that the wilder life in the Wistful wild is tougher than in the other areas because it had to learn how to adapt to harsh conditions, which says a lot about the Wistful Wild).
Pikmin was always my favorite game series, despite how many actual games of it are, the music was always great at showing how far you’ve come, it’s always like that, and I still love it to this day
Wistful, indeed, yet so relaxing for what hell you must endure with your boss and your valiant soldiers, and for what? Treasure? Fame? It's all to save someone who trusted you... fought with you... and helped you with your job, and you left him behind. He may be dead, all because of you. Or at least, *That's what you think*
this is a much better final area music than the final challenge area in pikmin 1, that music was unsettling, this music is cautious. A much better mood for a pikmin game
@@bosssnurp5912 I like the idea of the plasm wraith chasing you through the formidable oak though I think it could been executed better plus I think the idea would be best in a cave like the ones in pikmin 2 that don’t have a time limit.
@@bosssnurp5912 the water wraith is suspenseful and I wasn’t saying it was bad, just saying the idea would have been better suited for the caves in pikmin. Not only for the lack of a time limit but also I feel with multiple sub levels they could get more out of it by having it chase you through out each.
This is an area from uh.. no 2 areas from pikmin 1. This is where i beated the god of pikmins. And this is where all my pikmins died to a giant bulblax
Nah. Hearing remixes occasionally, like with Blossoming Arcadia, is pretty cool, but if it were because of people's nostalgia we'd never have new music in videogames. I don't want to hear the same songs all the time.
@@MartanisIVyeah that's level 10. It's a tricky floor but what I do is head towards the wall where it's safe and wait till the Gatling Groink comes close enough and use purple potion on him. Then I just take the blues and take out the rest.

With the release of Pikmin 4 with 1+2 coming to Switch, yes
Played pikmin 2 as my first pikmin game hell ye I want pikmin 4 :c
This song really gives off final area vibes.
fitting since the final trial from pikmin 1 is here
It’s also the impact site.
Definitely lets the series come full circle with Pikmin series. (That is, before 3 and Hey!.)
So does the area, 'cause
Y'know
Gatling Groink which can casually waltz right into spawn
Not really, more nostalgic nature vibes to be honest

Louie’s grandmother: WHERE ARE YOU LOUIE!
I literally listen to this song for the same reason. It reminds me when I had somewhat of a good perception on life and everyone was still around. Now I have the big Depresso 👍
Vaguely haunting, in the same fashion as the Forest Navel sundown music. I swear, it's the acoustic that does it.
Best song of Pikmin 2. It sounds like something from a movie about a Samurai.
but perplexing pool tho

pikmin 2 the musical
Casting for the music video right now
@@ThatAnnoyingBird Years late, but this is incredibly high praise!
This is genuinely beautiful! The game never really gives you time to think about how Olimar and Louie must’ve felt in their respective scenarios.

I respect your opinion, but this area’s song is more sad than unsettling, like most songs for final areas in Pikmin games are.
@@PikKraken8 it’s more like a bit stressful, yet hopeful and determined.

It’s honestly starting to for me, even if my first game was 4 THEN I played those classics right after.

It fits well for the Autumn season too for the map.
I’ve never played Pikmin 2, but I’ve played 3 and 1. Out of both, plasm wraith was a better boss, but the final trial was a better final area.
