This wedding was one of my very favourite Royal weddings of all time. I always say to people, that Princess Mary was one of the most adorable & beautiful Royal brides. Right down to her dress, her veil, her bouquet, her earrings, her hairstyle & colour, everything! I remember watching this wedding all those years ago, although it feels just like yesterday & it was so very romantic & dreamy. Just gorgeous! It's lovely to be able to view it again right here. To think that this handsome couple, now have 4 beautiful children & they appear such a pleasantly cheerful & happy family. So wonderful to see.

The Veil was made by Irish nones. For Prins Frederiks great Grandmother in 1905 CA.And the same material in in the weddingdress ,she got 60 meters of satin from a factory in Denmark it had to be made the same white as the Veil.

I think a lot of people over look her and the gown because she’s a modest, attractive & educated lady who draws no attention to herself except when doing her royal duties and even then she’s a gracious & mature person with a husband who is gorgeous and dotes on her. She is typically Scottish-- taciturn and reserved on the out-side but with deep emotions inside. She cried last month at a meeting ,where she addressed children and young people who had lost a parent when young. She was remembering her mother's sudden death in 1997 ,which mesdsed up her life for a while.

@Daniel Jr To some extent, you are right, but to be fair to the British royals, you have to think about the number of "subjects" the British royal family has got to please. The British Isles (66 mill. ppl),the British dominions AND all the commonwelth countries. That is a he** of a lot of people to be trying to please! In Denmark we are only 5,6 million + Greenland and Faroe Islands (100 thousand ) = 5,7 million all together. So the "mental" distance to the subjects of Denmark is much shorter, almost as being the Monarch of inner London. ;o) And we have also had our up and downs with our royals in the past, but our Queen has grown to be less "entitled" by the years, and so have the rest of the family with her.
They are also self-supporting from their private business interests ,according to a friend who lives in Denmark .They have only taken their State Allowance twice--once in 2004 to pay towards their wedding and honeymoon, and secondly in 2011 to modernise Frederik 9th Palace which belongs to the State anyway. The wedding brought in millions of Kroner to Denmark, so the State made a profit out of them.

I love this family. They are all very loving towards each other, and there isn’t the scandals associated with them as they are with the British royal family.

Agreed. My husband and I are from Melbourne and were actually in Copenhagen watching the wedding live on the big screens as it happened. We also got a gorgeous photo of them going past us in their carriage too and living in Denmark briefly at the time, we also married in Copenhagen 11 days later. For some reason ,it was taken off Danish TV after only a few weeks and an abreviated version is now shown. Danish TV2 is a subscription channel ,so maybe the Documentary--My Way -- has not been released for general viewing.

In Denmark we are only 5,6 million + Greenland and Faroe Islands (100 thousand ) = 5,7 million all together. So the "mental" distance to the subjects of Denmark is much shorter, almost as being the Monarch of inner London. ;o)
And we have also had our up and downs with our royals in the past, but our Queen has grown to be less "entitled" by the years, and so have the rest of the family with her.
They are also self-supporting from their private business interests ,according to a friend who lives in Denmark .They have only taken their State Allowance twice--once in 2004 to pay towards their wedding and honeymoon, and secondly in 2011 to modernise Frederik 9th Palace which belongs to the State anyway. Estrid Melissa.... Now its easy to believe that such 'marriages are made in heaven'. Their meeting, that too, two total strangers, at the opposite ends of the earth, the sunshine for the carriage ride are just portents what destiny had written for them. Seriously, on his first sight of her, and that too in a noisy pub, just overwhelmed him. No wonder the feeling in his own words was that he had met his soulmate. She was an Aussie but may now go on to be One of the great Danish queens.

Agreed. My husband and I are from Melbourne and were actually in Copenhagen watching the wedding live on the big screens as it happened. We also got a gorgeous photo of them going past us in their carriage too and living in Denmark briefly at the time, we also married in Copenhagen 11 days later. I can't enjoy our wedding anniversary without also celebrating theirs. Such a beautiful couple. 😍❤

For some reason ,it was taken off Danish TV after only a few weeks and an abreviated version is now shown. Danish TV2 is a subscription channel ,so maybe the Documentary--My Way -- has not been released for general viewing.
