Having randomly googled this due to nostalgia for Unreal tournament, I forgot how fast and good these games were. Its interesting seeing the direction that the market took in terms of shooters in general.
The only modern mainstream game with crazy fast movement is Titanfall 2. Which is a dope game and I totally recommend. But it's got loadouts, perks, abilities, weapon attachments, very low TTK, and giant mechs, which resembles CoD much more than UT or Quake. (you can play gamemodes without the mechs though.) Would also recommend playing Quake Champions, not the most popular game but popular enough to find matches on and an extremely fun arena shooter even with (weak) character abilities. Different characters also use different movement mechanics and have different starting stack too.
10 years later and timing the vials. This made me so hype, timing on both parties was amazing which made all those prefire shots really spot on. The stack reading and everything was so exciting. Miss watching stuff like this

+Field of View If you're still interested and haven't seen them, look for games from: skAven, GoHLinK, ScrMz_, and for older games, GitzZz. They're some of the best duelers the game has seen. Or for TDM, there's a few - daddy was quite smart, and zeD was a pure fragmonster. They're Euros, though, I don't know the NA scene that well. stryfe, Lotus, GiMiX, combatcarl, are some names that come to mind maybe, though they are older ones. I liked watching LaVak3 but he was more CTF/TDM I guess.

Dude if you're still wondering, I found out how it works. The main problem is the map! On the default map of the game that jump doesnt work. Try to find a map called Roughinery-FPS. Then recreate the jump from the video. Stand on the pipe, jump a little to the right, then walldodge jump off the wall into the corner. Try to reach the wall on the left before reaching the corner, you'll kinda "slide in" and stand on the pipes/invisible platform. It's something about the meshes of the map or whatever. I couldn't do it for the longest time, then yesterday I joined a server that had Roughinery-FPS, and I did it first try!
@@LuisSanchez-op8he The see through walls is a spectator feature, not a cheat. Also that IG at 10:09 didn't hit. Don't know what happened during that shield jump though.
11:32 how did he know to check that corner? i get that the silhouette through the walls we see here is a spectator thing, but he seems kind of suspect in his behavior throughout the video, he always knows where the other guy is
if you've played FPS duels and you're fishing for someone laying a trap this is pretty common, in quake you rocket corners to avoid sneaky traps, he didn't know, he "checked" it or might have caught a pixel
By some facts, footsteps, the time that need a player to go through the shield hallway. Ut2k4 players can be so high skilled, they could know where you will respawn by the place where he kills you.
His own shot that failed to register by server. Then was updated when pat cleared. You can see him fire 2 shock balls and move with camera angles at that shock balls angles early only there isn't a third shot recorded. There was a third shot. And server puts it there when it realizes.
They should make a rankin map for the new unreal? They have the area map, but not rankin? Rankin was my fav map because I played the demo a lot first and that was rankin only. Then later bought the full game. But I really got addicted to this game via the demo servers playing rankin all the time. So addictive
i have played km first hand in ut prealpha and managed to beat him even if i am no duel player... i don think he was cheating what so ever in his later years

He refused to play Renegade because he said renegade only plays rankin hahah. Yeah, BeaR kicked my ass about 26 to -1 or something, but I like it. It was good practice. BeaR rules all. Reflex not going to play either skAven ro BeaR.

Yep because the game is full of cheaters now. Don't expect KmKz to compete on lan now or in the future (UT4).

Noooo i know that but he uses a mapping bug/texture overlap to escape without shield gun. Watch at 19:55, no Shield Jump there!!
