I talk to a petty officer Monday about possible enlistment. I'm not worried about bootcamp. I come from an army infantry family so I know they look at me to be an example especially since my pop retired a 1StSgt. On top of that he was a DS for 3 years before that. I know each BCT is different than other branches. Any advice about talking to the requirement officer? I really want to be a seabee already took the asvab with another branch and my line scores whatever those are were through the roof. BTW when you and the Corps man get together funny shit. To anyone going to Great Lakes, good luck you won’t regret your decision when you get to march across the drill deck in front of your parents, it’s a one time experience that you’ll never forget. My advice is to listen to your rdcs and what they have to say, take all the yelling with a grain of salt WORK TOGETHER and when you go to the nex it is imperative that you buy at least 4 bags of cough drops and foot spray and foot powder or you will get a case of athletes foot. Bootcamp is easy just keep your head up and move through it.
TheNuker22 it’s really not that exciting honestly I mean yeah it feels good but it’s not a big accomplishment, like I’m at nuke school now boot camp was a joke
Nayrkcaj don’t get me wrong bootcamp definitely is a joke, I mean ship our division was learning to fold laundry for 3 weeks so there’s that lol but it’s still a challenge when you first step up to it
Nayrkcaj bro I’m considering nuke school right now. I got an 88 on the PICAT and my recruiter wants me shooting for something most intellectual than ABF or DC like I originally wanted.
So true!!! You see some nasty feet in boot camp lol So yes I agree foot powder and foot spray is imperative in Boot Camp lol I loved it I wish I could go back and do it all over again but that was back in 1997 hoooorahhh!!!
I transferred from Army to Navy but my advice to any new recruits to be ready on time and to not get dropped is: 1 hour before wake up allow half of the division to shave, brush their teeth, and put on your uniform bottoms. Put your PT sweat pants on top and when u wake up, just throw on your blouse, boots, and help others make their bed. The other half should have once the lights go out. Sleep on top of the covers and use the blanket only (this helps you save time tucking corners and helping others make their racks while getting ready. That's how you keep from getting dropped.
@@BrandonPwnsXD yes push ups but also 10 counts, sundails, or if the RDC wants to do so, give you a glass of orange juice aka the full orange card of all exercises.
Holy shit getting dropped just means doing push ups? Getting dropped in Coast Guards boot camp meant going back a week. We weren't allowed to be up even 5 minutes before lights on either (people did anyway). And we had muster in the morning before getting dressed so that shit would never work.

Navy boot camp seems like it is a dream, compared to when I was in, I know older sailors say that a lot but, it is true. The facilities are nicer and the training modules fit the times. Man, bootcamp while definitely not the easiest thing I have ever done. It definitely wasn't terribly difficult either. It will feel like a really strict summer camp if you can follow simple instructions. Hell even if you pulled the irresponsible thing that I did, and rolled of the couch Cheetos and all and onto the bus to basic barely making tape and having not studied rank and recog, you will do fine. If you follow instructions well you will be set. 90% of basic is just listening and repeating/executing directions given out by the RDCs. Bootcamp is the easiest money you will ever make. The biggest mistake I always saw people make was trying to take shortcuts, or straight up questioning why you are doing something. No matter how dumb, trivial, demeaning, you find what you are doing. Do it any way, without question. It might also sound dumb, but like JT was saying most of basic is boredom, unless you are in or gunning for a position of authority within your division. Thanks for making a video on this. My dad was in the Navy from 68-72 and when ever I asked him if bootcamp was hard he would always go "ehhhhh you know some of it was a pain in the ass but it was also just getting everyone on the same level. You have guys who grew up and never knew how to properly fold clothes or some even shave." That type of stuff blew my mind when I thought about it. Going off the topic of bootcamp, think about like the most basic thing you do in a day and think how many people in the world or even in your city either dont know how to do it or have never even thought about it before. Wacky
Boot was a breeze. Just my shins, back and knees.. and, brother Div’s Chief coming over pissed, firing off 20 questions trying his best to beat you and you get it all right 😂 ohh the days

Yooooo, that Chief at 8:35 gave my division the SAPR brief. I had to step out for a minute, and she immediately came out after to me to make sure I was good. She's nice af.
I can remember back in Orlando during boot. No matter what I did I could not pass my locker inspect. So I gave $20.00 to a guy that never dropped the locker inspection to fold my locker. Inspection came and my locker was tossed out the door and down three floors to the ground. That's when I knew it was a head game. Blew through boot after that.

My bootcamp days were a bit tougher than these newjacks nowadays. We had no coffin racks, we had bed racks, stand up lockers and no stand watch info on the wall.
3 times and still jacked up their racks?! Our CCs would've been screaming at the top of their lungs unleashing hell fire on the entire company! BTW I went to navy basic in '89.
The Great Lakes dentists actually aren't too bad at all. The LT I saw was the only dentist I've ever met who was actually able to hit the nerve in my cheek when they were anesthetizing me with Lidocaine. Not to mention its the only real conversation you're gonna get that isn't with recruits. They were definitely better than the dentists over here in Charleston
Division 394 My chief hated ITE, so he would make us do bunk drills. For HOURS. It was awful. I remember one guy failed our gun shoot because he violated a safety rule. We did bunk drills for 5 hours that day. By the second hour, guys were begging to get dropped just to get it over with. It was psychologically brutal.
Hey JT, just wanted to let you know that your videos really helped me make my decision to join the Navy. Im leaving for Boot Camp tomorrow, and then off to Nuke School in South Carolina. Thank you JT.
I’m the dental yeoman in this video. The one that made the big speech about “being one big family”. Keep your head up guys, boot camp sucks but it’s not forever.
Ah man you posted this video my 2nd day of PDays at that point I was awake for about 48 hours. Anyway I graduated on the 18th now I'm across the street for A school for 4 months!
Woah, I just saw someone that was at a T.E.A.M send off in Katy, my division did color guard for them. I recognize them because I was on the color guard and could see the people who were going to boot camp when I dipped the Texas flag.
Damn, I've had 1 Wisdom tooth removed, and that was only because it had cracked in half 2 years prior. I didn't realize it was cracked in half, and didn't have medical, so just left it cause it wasn't hurting. When it was removed, they shot me with novacain and I couldn't feel anything, the worst part was the crunching. The sounds of the crunching still makes me quiver.
I remember in my div, every time one of us fucked up the watch log and the weapons log. The word hydrate didn't even made us flinch. Chief just said "Some one fucked up the watch log!" And all of us ran to the toeline and got on are six pack. Brings back good memories lol
JT wish me some luck in the army cause I was finally able to get a waiver after a year and a half of waiting you kept me motivated to find a branch that will take me thanks dude!
It is a lot different when i was in boot camp we did have midical yeoman but they didjt sit at a table making sure that recruits go to appointments and updating hardcards..... The recruits themselves had to go to appointments..... I dont know if i could do the new nave boot camp
Me mentor in the fleet was an RDC I asked him “are some of the things in boot camp like the flags really that hard? Or do recruits just make it harder than it is” He told me it’s always the recruits lol
2 weeks till graduation, at this point we didn't have much left to do and Battle stations was over and the RDCs had nothing for us.... untilllll someone right outside the shark tank decided to look at the POD and say, "another boring day".... our 3rd RDC over heard and said in a THICK FILIPINO ACCENT "OH YOURE FN BORED?! LETS FIX THAT!"... 4 HOURS of making racks and getting inspected, and the ones who passed after the 20th inspection would get beat until EVERYONE passed our 3rd RDCs impossible time limit... then when everyone passed rack inspection, WE STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN... good times.
Hey I've lost about 140lbs I went from 315lb to 170lbs. I'm pretty fit and work out almost daily. Will I have any trouble? Because I have some loose skin on my belly. I leave next Monday for bootcamp.
Lol my division was the one doing the bunk and locker drills. My chief wasn’t even that mean. He was just acting for the camera. Although the males in my division did get beat a lot for messed up bunks
i made my bed once at ft. leonardwood. we were issued a sleeping bag my platoon would sleep on our beds in our bags .. our drill sgt. didnt care he said whatever you guys are doing keep it up we always beat everyone to formation

Boot Camp is all a game, guys. The faster everyone unlocks the “teamwork” skill, the sooner your Petty Officers and/or Chief will stop yelling as much and will see you as an adult. Also handle your shit in house. When we learned that our Chief starting teaching us like an older brother.

Going off the topic of bootcamp, think about like the most basic thing you do in a day and think how many people in the world or even in your city either dont know how to do it or have never even thought about it before. Wacky
I just finished bootcamp days ago and it does get better. It’s even fun sometimes don’t be too nervous about it.
Does JTsuits know his name is graffitied all over every head wall at Great Lakes?
Red Rover had a fucking poll
It is saw it I think I saw it at red Rover
I even saw it in the Reuben James, as well as the Red Rover
It was at red rover just got back
Shout out to the USS Reuben James 900s
Boot was a breeze. Just my shins, back and knees.. and, brother Div’s Chief coming over pissed, firing off 20 questions trying his best to beat you and you get it all right 😂 ohh the days
You’re videos have really calmed my nerves. I’m currently awaiting my medical evaluation to see if I’ll be allowed to join or not. I’m honestly really excited. Appreciate you 👌🏾
Preciate the extra footage do you have any more footage of Basic at RTC Great Lakes bro?
Check my baby bootcamp playlist
Yooooo, that Chief at 8:35 gave my division the SAPR brief. I had to step out for a minute, and she immediately came out after to me to make sure I was good. She's nice af.
SketchCreatesStuff she was the chief when I went through battle stations
I can remember back in Orlando during boot. No matter what I did I could not pass my locker inspect. So I gave $20.00 to a guy that never dropped the locker inspection to fold my locker. Inspection came and my locker was tossed out the door and down three floors to the ground. That's when I knew it was a head game. Blew through boot after that.
I love that at 7:59 they’re probably thinking “I wish I could pass out and sleep for twenty hours” and the happiest song is playing
Hydrate, do it, do it now. Or you have 20 seconds to hydrate 20 19 19 15 10 5 TOE LINE
Graduated March 30 now in the fleet, such great times back then. Don’t regret my decision to join. Love your vids man also on your carrier the stinkin Lincoln! IYAOYAS
Thanks JT you are getting me through the first week of my son being in bootcamp. You and Nickymgtv have become my family. Helped me through Coast Guard bootcamp and now Navy bootcamp.
Great video bro. Yea boot camp was easy. Even here at nattc is easy. I’m top of my class 💪🏾 can’t wait until I graduate and head to my first duty station. Iwakuni Japan!!
LJTHEGEMINI93 what rate?
@@ivanrivera5187 I assume by nattc he means Naval Air Technical Training Center in Pensacola, FL. So we can assume he's (most likely) an Air Traffic Controller Recruit, or some rate to do with aviation. Lucky him.
Getting Better oh ok nice, thats a great rate indeed lucky him. I ship out January 1st 2020 as a GSM, im excited but i hear GSM is a tough rate and ridiculously busy which i dont mind but the opportunity to work on gas turbines is one ill definitely take advantage of and it translates well in the civilian sector quite well.
I just made it to nattc 3 weeks ago
I remember doing fold and stow 500 times a day before the actual inspection.
You are awesome dude, you seem like the kind of guy that is cool to have a beer with
I took your advice paused the video and learned the greeting for the compartment before bootcamp. I was a solid security watch
haha nice !!!
I leave on Wednesday for boot camp..
goodluck
Just go in with the mindset that it’s gonna suck. Remember why you joined and you’ll be fine
Saaaammmeee
Matthew Patricko ayeee where are you leaving out of? I’m coming from Florida
Be the best you can, maybe I will see you down the road
"RPOC did you hydrate?
Yes, Chief.
Then get your ass on that blackline."
The good old times lol.
I was doing thousand of push ups and sit ups a day preparing for the coast guard to just find out I scored low on the asvab 😂.
See you soon navy.
What was your score?
@@DH-hb6cj 24 but I need 40 minimum
@@aythnic6722 Oh okay you got this. You know about the 4 sections that make up your afqt score?
That's a sweet outro song! Super relaxing. Professional even.
Oh God, I just arrived at Charleston awhile ago and now I'm afraid to go to dental.
Shipping out August 27th. Enlisted March 11th, the days definitely coming fast
Nicholas Garcia that first RDC on the video is someone you don’t want to fuck with
Division 394
My chief hated ITE, so he would make us do bunk drills. For HOURS. It was awful. I remember one guy failed our gun shoot because he violated a safety rule. We did bunk drills for 5 hours that day. By the second hour, guys were begging to get dropped just to get it over with. It was psychologically brutal.
Hey man you’re doing really well. I’ve been watching since you’re motorcycle days. Back in the R3 lmao. These boot camp videos are giving me ptsd lol
dude the R3 !!! legend bro
JTsuits yeah buddyyy, wish I could’ve served with you while you were still in man! All the love from NS Mayport buddy 🤙
love watching your vids man! i ship Jan 7th! getting really excited and nervous!
Hey JT, just wanted to let you know that your videos really helped me make my decision to join the Navy. Im leaving for Boot Camp tomorrow, and then off to Nuke School in South Carolina. Thank you JT.
Gl !!!!!!!!!
I’m the dental yeoman in this video. The one that made the big speech about “being one big family”. Keep your head up guys, boot camp sucks but it’s not forever.
haha hey whats up !!!!!!
hope ur doing well goodluck in the fleet !!!
I leave September 1st! I’m so excited!! And nervous
I just got out of boot like 3 weeks ago, most of this is like half a year old, but a lot is pretty accurate
That first RDC was a blue rope in 2016 when I was in boot camp, taught me good life skill and made me eat some concrete
Ah man you posted this video my 2nd day of PDays at that point I was awake for about 48 hours. Anyway I graduated on the 18th now I'm across the street for A school for 4 months!
Petty Officer Rivera is great, he was my 3rd RDC. I just graduated on Friday so it was cool to see him in a video.
Woah, I just saw someone that was at a T.E.A.M send off in Katy, my division did color guard for them. I recognize them because I was on the color guard and could see the people who were going to boot camp when I dipped the Texas flag.
My Chief always said “Recruit Schmukatelley” and the fact that you said that brought back nostalgia
The Female in the beginning chewing out the watch stander was my 3rd RDC, GM2 Debrow lol
Lmao that petty officer talking in the background, he did our last PI . He’s tough.
😢😂I love that you include your family, brings tears to my eyes, I guess I'm craving for family life. Lol
I remember in my div, every time one of us fucked up the watch log and the weapons log. The word hydrate didn't even made us flinch. Chief just said "Some one fucked up the watch log!"
And all of us ran to the toeline and got on are six pack. Brings back good memories lol
JT wish me some luck in the army cause I was finally able to get a waiver after a year and a half of waiting you kept me motivated to find a branch that will take me thanks dude!
I am prior army. You should be okay but going through the same shit again will suck. You should keep your same rank.
Yow JT, any chance you could do a video about a squadron and it's members/components? Would love to learn more 🤙🏻
check out my navy jobs playlist i have some aviation vids
I had a crush on the rdc who said “don’t rewrite your lines” lol I wanted her to beat me
Ship 6 is where its at boiii!!!
Totally different when I was in 1987 to 1991 went to Orlando FL.
This is so recent, we are laughing so hard, we are famous lmaooo
It is a lot different when i was in boot camp we did have midical yeoman but they didjt sit at a table making sure that recruits go to appointments and updating hardcards..... The recruits themselves had to go to appointments..... I dont know if i could do the new nave boot camp
Me mentor in the fleet was an RDC I asked him “are some of the things in boot camp like the flags really that hard? Or do recruits just make it harder than it is”
He told me it’s always the recruits lol
I only graduated about a month ago but it feels like years
2 weeks till graduation, at this point we didn't have much left to do and Battle stations was over and the RDCs had nothing for us.... untilllll someone right outside the shark tank decided to look at the POD and say, "another boring day".... our 3rd RDC over heard and said in a THICK FILIPINO ACCENT "OH YOURE FN BORED?! LETS FIX THAT!"... 4 HOURS of making racks and getting inspected, and the ones who passed after the 20th inspection would get beat until EVERYONE passed our 3rd RDCs impossible time limit... then when everyone passed rack inspection, WE STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN... good times.
Went there in 87 everything is so different now memories love your videos
SWC Aanenson was my RDC. We were the division that was getting their sheets ripped off at the beginning of this video! Good times!😂
OMFG THAT WAS MY CHIEF IN BOOTCAMP 💀💀💀 Chief Annenson 😂😂😂😂
Do they still do battle stations at the end of training??
i made my bed once at ft. leonardwood. we were issued a sleeping bag my platoon would sleep on our beds in our bags .. our drill sgt. didnt care he said whatever you guys are doing keep it up we always beat everyone to formation
when you're in bootcamp and you see recruits with long hairs specially when in chow you will know they are spending much longer time than you in bootcamp haha
The begging is my USNSCC division when our command makes us go through a two hour presentation instead of going outside and doing stuff.
Damn son! Navy be getting Nalgene bottles. I feel duped getting canteens joining the army to hydrate
Boot Camp is all a game, guys. The faster everyone unlocks the “teamwork” skill, the sooner your Petty Officers and/or Chief will stop yelling as much and will see you as an adult. Also handle your shit in house. When we learned that our Chief starting teaching us like an older brother.
Thank you so much you and your family for taking the time so families out there can see what’s going on thanks so much love love little 👶 🤗🤪
are you outside much in the navy? all of the boot camp videos I've seen are inside
I got my wisdoms pulled in boot. It wasn't too bad. Got to sleep for a couple days. It was super hard to eat for a couple weeks though which was frustrating. Getting beat would make them bleed occasionally too.
Do you have an option to Not get your wisdom pulled if they are fine?
At 8:24 that was one of my RDCs bact in April UT1 Revara.
I've had no complications or issues with my wisdom teeth, will they make me get them removed at boot camp?
I have the same question... JT, do you have an answer for this???
I went through this and seen so many get screamed at and breakdown during it, practice, practice, practice, chiefs and petty officers wont mess with you, if they know you're trying.
Graduated yesterday. At the airport rn going to a school.....saw a jt stencil in a ship 04 stall lol
