Enjoyed your video. I just bought an old JD 850 and came with a bunch attachments. Ballast box included. Very very heavy and over kill. Hard to move around and bucket won’t lift it so have to use mini excavator of my dads to move it. Like your idea and casters will make it easier. Thanks
Thanks Tom! I hope my ballast box videos give you some useful ideas. The casters were a good idea but, because of the weight, really have to make sure the floor is clean before moving it around. Small stones and such will stop the casters like hitting a wall lol. Thanks for watching 🤠
Nice box...BUT....you would have to be very careful using that box in working in wooded, unlevel, wet areas as it doesn't offer much ground clearance...it would be very easy for that thing to get hung up and then you would be stuck. If it were mine...those casters would have to go...but it is not mine, it is yours, so enjoy your quality ballast box.
Thanks for the comments! And you are absolutely correct. Not something I'd want to take off of level clear ground. Guess I tried to get a little too cute lol. But live and learn and if I make another one I will learn from those mistakes. And removing the casters is a very real possibility. Thank you for checking out the video and I appreciate the comments!
Great video. I think I personally, would remove the casters and simply put a couple of 2x3's as skids on the bottom. Something just to keep it off the ground.
I was thinking along the same line. Might take the casters off and mount them on a rack... then I can set the box on the rack. That way I can still move it around the shop without using the tractor. Good suggestion and thanks for watching!
Thank you!
i am going to watch the video since your intro includes a prowler on a carrier elevator. and because i need tractor ballast
Nice...
Thank you! Cheers!
