She didn't intentionally aim to crash into any vehicles. She was intentionally driving very fast and obviously not paying attention but she wasn't attempting to hurt anybody. The argument could be made that with her driving so fast she was intentionally putting other drivers at risk, however, that argument would still rely on proving that she was intending to do harm. Hello lazy…how you doing today?
She’s an RN! She’s assessing, calculating important medications to administer patients on the fly , etc. had she had real mental health issue she wouldn’t be successfully travel nursing to multiple facilities, period.
I'm surprised she survived that crash and is still alive RIP to the ones who lost their lives that day🙏🏾🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
It is surprising how many perps in car homicide cases survive - hope she gets a life sentence.
Thanks to the Mercedes

She bounced off her airbag. Everybody else got the worst possible hit which is a side impact.

I just keep thinking about those little children who never had chance to live their lives and the surviving family who have to live without them.
My brain is on a loop of this fiery crash, the hellfire that erupted. It's sickening.
None of them survived it seems. All 4 of them tragically passed.
Me too bro. Me too. This is so, so sad. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time and it won’t be the last time tragedies like this occur. We just have to keep the families of the victims in our prayers.

This is so sickening, she should be charge to the full extend of the law, no excuse!!!
It's just so sickening how 1 person can cause so many deaths at 1 time and survive😡😡😡
Agree!!!
Did you want her to die ? It’s sad enough all those people lost their lives, I would hate for anyone else to suffer a tragedy 😔💔
Because maybe she needs to pay for her act. We might never know why.
We’ll it’s obviously a reason she didn’t die, if you’re meant to die you will
Hello. Maybe, just maybe, she’ll never want to be behind the wheel of another vehicle ever again (of course depending on the outcome of trials). This horrific tragedy might prove very hard for her, learning and knowing about those people whose lives she took. Having to see their photos and hear stories from loved ones left behind. That’s a lot of burden, worse than prison time in my opinion.

Shame on you Texas for not pulling her license years ago. And the Nursing Board for let this unstable woman care for patients.

If the defense is using “mental health issues” in the past as an excuse, how could she be allowed to be a traveling nurse in charge of others well being? Aren’t individuals with jobs in the medical field tested for competency? I certainly hope they are. I feel awful over the loss of life from this horrible incident.
I'm a nurse, MH issues are not grounds to keep someone from being a nurse. Honestly I believe that 90% of healthcare workers suffer from some type of MH issue, rather it be depression or anxiety. Some nurses even suffer from PTSD after seeing so many people pass away during the pandemic. I'm not excusing what she did, I hope she rots in jail. If she knew about her MH issues she should have gotten help. There is no excuse. But to answer your question the board of nurses can not keep you from getting your license based off a past history of mental health issues, that would be discrimination.

Same, but being a traveler she probably didn’t get too tight with the regular staff. If she goes the mental health route with her defense that then opens her up to scrutiny for continuing to practice with a known impairment. Either way she’s off the streets and bedside for ever.

When a mother dies along with the unborn child it's called double homicide. If a doctor snips the spinal column of an unborn baby it's called 'reproductive healthcare'.

No excuse for this type of driving. Like

After moving to Houston I honestly expect no less from a driver like her-- these people drive as if they do not value their lives.
I see it all the time where I live. Driving WAY too fast, tailgating, constantly changing lanes trying to pass every vehicle, just barely missing other cars in the process. At 70 mph, they’ll be less than 1/2 car length behind the car in front of them. Super aggressive and dangerous driving. Here’s where the real tragedy lies …with that style of reckless driving, they must have a lot of tickets. Their insurance is probably so expensive, they can’t afford it. It’s so pervasive with so many doing it, you have to call it a culture. It’s a really bad culture.
i thought calif drivers were horrible.. texans not much better?

This is an oversight problem as well. How was she able to continue driving with 13 wrecks in her driving history! Some people dropped the ball big time
She should definitely get life in prison. More frustrating though is how she was allowed to keep driving after so many accidents, you should have your driving privileges permanently revoked after 5 accidents or 2 DUI's.

Reporter: "She has no criminal history." There is a first time for everything... I once knew someone who had severe mental issues and I only got in the car once with him, never again. He was driving 75 km/hr in a 30km/hr school zone and when I mentioned that he should slow down for the risk of hitting a child or anyone for that matter, he replied "What school zone? I didn't see any signs I thought the limit was 90 km/hr. Totally disconnected from reality at that moment, he actually did not see anything but the road. He thought he was on the highway. When he was on his meds, no problem. I found out later from his brother that he had not taken his meds for over a month. He is in a special care home after having a bad accident on his bicycle when he ran into a dumpster at full speed and broke his neck. He said that he didn't see anything on the road. He was riding his bicycle in the middle of the night down a city alley..in the dark.
I wonder if he ever had visual perception tests/brain scans done. There’s a few lesser known brain disorders which cause you to ‘not see’/ignore things although the eyes see them. Like agnosia, hemispatial neglect. Interesting to think about…

If her “mental health” issues cause her to fly through traffic like that she should never be let out of jail
Whether or not she's a nurse is not relevant. She was doing 100mph into an intersection in a Mercedes. She deserves anything coming to her.
Put her in jail then see how she acts. This is just unacceptable.
Her lawyer will say she fell asleep or passed out. If you see the crash video, you'll agree that If she wasn't on drugs, there's no way anyone in there right mind would go that fast and intensionally crash into others. Either way, she can consider her life done.
Mental health has been used as an excuse for despicable acts. Anyone who drives with such disregard is a sociopath.
