Today I'm reviewing Casio's much anticipated Carbon Core Guard square G-Shock. This 5600 series watch has been redesigned with a carbon fiber reinforced resin case and comes with two additional quick release bands and an extra bezel which can be easily snapped on and off without using any tools.
The camo pattern on the dial, bezel, and band are based off the circuit board for the original 3229 module. Is it insanely ostentatious or incredibly cool? Or both? You be the judge. And if you don't like what you see, just swap out the bezel and mix-and-match the bands. It's an awesome setup and really fun.
And yes, I know, there's no multi-band 6 or solar power. But now that we have a Carbon Core Guard square case hopefully Casio will bring this over to their other series of G-Shocks. A boy can dream, right?
EDIT: Thanks to user Patelivision for pointing out that the cloth band glows in the dark! I had no idea. Apparently Casio didn't exactly advertise that. Nice!

Very cool release from Casio!
Got this beauty and it looks even better in real :)
This one is nice definitely the next one I'm getting
That’s really cool watch... really nice video & presentation 👍
Thanks!
Love the circuit board camouflage on the G shock
This design looks nerdy! Amazing! Would love if it would feature tough solar & Multiband. :-D Absolutely like the detachable straps.
Agreed on all counts! Thanks for watching :)
Awesome!
Love your channel
Thanks! I really appreciate it.
wow, this is well beyond my budget, but this thing is beautiful.
beat me to it, mine is on the way. great video thanks.
Nice! Man, it was tough to find this thing without paying an arm and a leg. Hope you like it! Also why the hell am I not subscribed to your channel. Love your work!
Where can you buy this? Looks like eBay is the only source as of right now?
Some other sites have them like japan-select.com
I got mine last week, it looks amazing. Changing the strap can be a little time taking but becomes easy once you get used to it. It's around 150 dollars in India, probably the cheapest.
Wow, in my country it is almost $400 ☹️
Dammit. Now I really want one.
Another cool thing about that cloth/leather strap is that it glows in the dark. Casio definitely doesn't do that often.
I feel like Casio didn't advertise this feature very well.
Holy cow, you're right. That is wicked cool. I had no idea haha.
@@WatchingCasio The only other official strap that I have seen that glows in the dark is the DW6900PF. This is definitely a rare feature.
@@Patelivision Cloth band from new GA-900 glows aswell. But yeah it is pretty rare thing and I really like it.
@@drft1186 Ohhh yeah! I forgot about those. Maybe it's something Casio will do more often now.
@@Patelivision Hope so!
It reminds me of an 80s Swatch watch.
Are the adapters same as the ones in DW5610SUS-5 sand camo square? Great review as always!
I believe so, yes.
WOW
I have a question: from what series the case are compatible with the dwe-5600cc?
Not sure - I don't think they are compatible with other 5600's.
what is the cheapest or and smallest casio with thermometer? thanks
There are many cheap Casio's with thermometer. Just search Amazon to find them!
The black tool was on the other side of the outer box.
I eventually figured that out lol
I wish the glow in the dark on wasn't cloth/fake leather. I want it to be long lasting.
Bluetooth? I live in Stockholm so radio-signals doesnt really work that well.
This watch has neither Bluetooth nor multiband 6.
Does it have bluetooth
No.
I really like it and want to add it to my collection, BUT the price here in the UK! Sheesh- ain't gonna happen sadly.
Yeah prices are all over the place.
£250 for a VERY basic non solar, non multi band 6 model is just utter madness, no matter how nice it is
This is a £100 watch at the MOST.
@@DanRC69 I have actually added it to my collection now. Paid £120 in a Watchshop sale. I reckon that was OK value given the extras/limited edition etc
@@FourIntoOne That's fair enough with all those extra straps.
I guess as it's a limited version prices may rise significantly (like the white Nasa 5600) so your purchase may be a VERY good investment, I've seen those white Nasa 5600's going for ridiculous prices, some close to $1000 on ebay!!
It Looks like a watch from the 90s
You say that like it's bad :)
80's actually, which so many people love (including myself).
Bro open the other side of the box. The free tool and manual should be there
I finally figured that out haha. Major facepalm.
I can't help but think Casio's main objective with this design is to stop those 3rd party bezel kits from being fitted.
Hopefully this ONLY gets used on THIS model only and NOT all future releases of this model (or others).
Maybe it will grow on me but my first impression is... that kind of $$, for that?? Disappointed.
Agreed , the price is a shocker.
Only worth it if one has another carbon core ( & likes this design) & then is happy to pay for some unique ( sadly) straps.
Casio... please stop making gshocks I can’t take my eyes off of. I have things to do. Thank you.
