Trash to Treasure | Art Deco WATERFALL DRESSER

- I picked up 3 awesome dressers from the side of the road and this video details the makeover of dresser #2, an Art Deco Waterfall Dresser! My first instinct was to paint this dresser pink, but when I found this barely-there blue in my paint stash, it called to me. Follow along as I take you through my furniture painting process.

That's why I scour the neighborhoods for curbside discard!
honestly it’s so bad. i recently went to the landfill coz we had some trash to get rid of and people throw out perfectly good things it’s so messed up i don’t understand why they can’t just donate their stuff :/
drizzle idk. I recently came across someone loading really well made mahogany furniture into his truck to take to the dump. I asked him why and he said his girlfriend didn't like "that old stuff ". I offered to buy it from him but he said I could have it for free if I hauled it away. Yes! I saved it and once I repair some minor damage I will proudly use it in my home. Still don't understand why he couldn't have donated it instead of dumping it. I love it so it all worked out I guess.

Being in a very similar situation like you, as a SAHM with two boys who sporadically refinishes furniture as a hobby and for living. I am still at the beginning, knowing a ton of stuff from all sources possible. I am just waiting for the good moment to start and have a steady routine (as it can possibly be). I’m not sure if you have it in Canada but there’s a product called "builders bog" it works as a type of putty (for lack of a better word). It’s applied to rotted wood and then sanded back and painted. It dries as hard as concrete and it can be drilled if necessary. Once painted you never know that the wood was rotten.
That sounds like the same product that I used.
Katie Scott SALVAGED by k. scott very similar. It comes in tub though, but does the same job.

Thanks to channels as yours, I been working in this quarantine in small proyects in my home. I started with the kitchen one week ago. Im going slow, because I work alone with the few things I have in home. I changed the color of all my gabinets kitchen, but all need a third paint of hand to be complete perfect. ( I sand everytime to left a smooth superfice). And and I made a very good work on a laminate gabinet, looks so pretty. When i finish that, I will change my dresser, my desk and my table in my room. This color is adorable, shame I dont have opcions, here all is closed. (and many paints arent available). I really wanted have a paint gun machine as yours... I had to use my small brushes and sponge to paint! and my arm and shoulder is killing me now, but the result is so pretty. Im so happy to see channels as yours (and other decorations too) to encourges me to do something useful in this time. No time to have sad or bad thoughts (well, I used to doesnt have those), but now, I got a smile is always when I find something "trash" and I think: I can restore it! Thanks for do this for all of us.
