8:37 should have went for it my dude.
Yes that was clutch slip, you need to down shift. Don’t make it so hard on the clutch to try and pull in the higher gears down low. That’s what the gears are there for, rev it out, don’t try and sit in 4th at low speeds and then plant your foot down. Either way it’ll probably need to be replaced in the near future.
Good advice, definitely gonna need a clutch before any real off roading
Bokgibi olmuş
Phat_And_Fast absolutely correct it’s way worse to lug the engine than to rev it high.
Paint job looks great. Cant wait to see it offroad
Now it's time for a 4 wheel drive unit, Thanks Again for the great content Joey From Statesville NC
Awesome build, by a skilled fabricator!
Love that monster in the back ;-)
You need to let the engine rev before you shift to the next gear. Rev that engine it loves to be reved high
I agree, that engine is made for a higher rpm range!
@@waymoresoutlaw195 you know its just a parallel twin right? those motors are all about torque and sure, Suzuki claims it will hit 9500 rpm but they like to be around the 6500 mark and he is driving around his neighborhood so he also trying not to be a jerk
@@philtripe I know , but it's not an engine that is made to lugg around. But he did an amazing job and I'll definitely give him props for that! But you are right, he has to live there .....
@@philtripe Correct.
Motorcycles have high rev ranges so you need to make sure you don't let the engine run at low revs or you will have no power. I think the Suzuki GS500 twin will rev up to 10,000 RPM.
11,000 rpm is redline. Max torque is made at around 7,500, max horsepower is made at 9,500. So yeah he has plenty of room to work with. He should install a tachometer and mount it on the dash so he knows where the engine is running at.
@@iwasnevahere8784 and whats it feel like at ten thousand rpm? that thing is screaming "shift you moron"
i miss the old circle headlights they just gave it a dune buggy look to me
Best build you've made on this show yet .
Hey Chris how wide is the buggy.
I am looking to build a similar one and I'd like some info. I am going to use a z750 though.
Beautiful work man!
you probably wont see this comment, but i figured ide say it anyways. if you put 80's model gs450 cams in it, it will help your mid range torque tremendously. especially considering the weight of the buggy and the way you like to shift. its got a 11,500 RPM redline and it sounds like you've only ever hit 8k once or twice. i had a 1985 gs450L, it was a cruiser, and had a 99 gs500 parts bike, and after swapping all the electronics it was bad ass, for what it was. but i regretted putting the gs 500 cams in. it killed all the midrange torque and made the powerband feel like a rubber band. if it wasn't screaming it didn't have any power. i went back to to the 450 cams with the cam cam gears. and it was faithful as could be and had the power it needed at the RPM i was happier spinning the motor. not tryn to be up in ya bizzness. just thought ide give ya a little helpful knowledge.
Sounds like your shifting way to early and did you check tire pressure before that drive. Should be higher rpm before you shift
Yeah that's what I was thinking... That motor likes a higher RPM
Not necesarily. Some engines have their sweet spot at low rpm's (even if its mainly regarded to larger number of cylinders).
@@eranliber5993 That engine will turn 11k rpm's he's only running it up to maybe 6k...
@@rsdna9698 might be. I cant tell. I didnt catch too much spec on the engine. But yeah its possible
@@eranliber5993 The title says it's a GS500 motorcycle engine, 11k rpm's is pretty standard. Plus it's easy to tell from the sound he isn't even coming close to what it should sound like.
One of the most well made awesome things i have seen, well done!
5:59 - 'Road work ahead..... EH? YEAH I SURE HOPE IT DOES!' XD love the build man keep it up
That GS500 dune buggy is bad ass, wish it was mine :-)
Absolutely sic! That thing sounds bad ass, I bet really fun to drive!
man wring that things neck that motor makes max power way up in the rev range like 9500 and max tq is 7500 red line is at 10.5K crusing rpm running down the road at speed on the bike was 4800 to 5600 in any gear so rev it up it will hit the rev limiter built into the ignition box you cant over rev it it cuts ignition. when you hit rev limit not saying bouce the motor off rev limiter all the time. its a high rev engine it likes to run there let it
awesome! Finally! Also, sounds like you need a new clutch =/
Sittin here on my bed listening to the sound of the motor and starting to fall a sleep as it sounds good.
thats awesome, she cruises well👍
Nice video! She got a few horses;D
Cool project man
Increase the cooling air flow, it will better for the engine when driving low speeds
👍SMASHED👍
Changing the front sprocket one is equivalent to 3 or 4 teeth in the rear
Good call
Wow dude, u done a good job there
Have*
You need side view and rearview mirrors. Probably not required but just for convenience and we are used to having it on cars.
Dude that's awesome! What a blast it must be! It looks just like you live in Western NC.
good video friend ... I like all the projects you do, I'm new subscriber and I think your projects are great ... especially the dune buggy ... good video friend
Been following your channel for some time and congrats buddy, nice ride there, with some little fine tunning and like other people said, gear down man, don't stress the clutch so much 😉
awesome buggy
Now it's time for a dirt track! 😁
the paint looks good frome a far but up close u can see all the pits in the pipe
Awesome video awesome buggy can't believe it's been over a year
Must be great to live in a country where you do the hell what you like, we have no space, loads of rules and laws, but mainly no space to do that kinda stuff, so envious (from the UK)
Incredible build!! Mirrors would be nice
Did you ever change the CDI box?
Before you mentioned it sputtering it did sound a little labored at part throttle. Could be fuel or maybe valve lash
You went around 48 to 53 mph , keep up the amazing build
You have a good buggy. This pronunciaton ia from Indonesia🇮🇩
Man I need to get me one lol that thing is sick af also shout out from Canada 🇨🇦
Fenders over the wheels and fix the wheel center and you have a very nice buggy.
make some aluminium fairings to that and windshiwld etc
Need some logging roads to ride on. Freshen that motor up with a rering kit over the winter get some more compression back. Make that motor scream
Need those tires balanced Chris! The tires should have marks on them indicating the heaviest spot, mount that 180* of your valve stems. It might help
Nice, looks like a blast
Try some drifting on the wet road. :O) Love the project, must be a great bunch of joy having all that hard work come to fruition.
Remember this ever tooth on the front = 2 on rear from 12 to 14 was like butting a rear gear with 4 less teeth
Once again. Great job Chris! 60 foot time ?
7:31 that grunt that he makes because he almost stalled the engine by sitting in 3rd gear and going from a standstill
Such an awesome build! Hope to see more content like this on your channel! Some mudguards would be usefull and will look cool i think... like the ones that steer with the whell..idk lmao Keep it up man!
You should put some silencers on those pipes and give the motor more back pressure. You won't be disappointed
Love the paint and the buggy, just wear some sunglasses or any thing to keep the wind off of your eyes and you might want to invest in some basic alignment tools or make them your self, there not too complicated...
Dude that's some nice toys hiding under tarps may I suggest a cargo container you topped out at 52 sweet video....
Such an epic build. Get some road wheels for it! :D!
man, i wanna see you clutch kick this thing. GIVE IT THE BEAAAAAANSSS
i like that frame i wold like to larn how to bild one like that with a 22hp on the back
You might be having a fuel delivery issue or the carbs need to be synced if it's sputtering at wide open throttle the main jets are either clogged or it's not getting enough fuel
Awesome at making things. Horrendous at driving them.
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 LoL he might just need some more time to learn how to play harder by reving the engine that loves to be reved harder than sitting in 4th gear all the time!
I was thinking about doing a project like this but don't want to spend a lot of money on tubing. Any suggestions on getting cheap tubing?
Need more videos like this
But i'm wondering what is the top speed of this buggy because maybe the weigh in general of the buggy is more important than it is in the motorcycle ?
I'm from México and I love your videos, I wish to make a motorcycle some day.
Parabéns belo kart
Try some off roading with it.... 👍😁
He has no where to take it, right now.
use more thorttle to start it clearly doesent like starting with low thorttle!
And in next projects use front brakes too!!!!!!
What a beautiful place, where is it ?
Make your plug gaps a little bit smaller...that could solve your higher RPM breaking up...
What happened to the big front end suspension I only saw the back ones great buggy and video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Sorry sr. Do you have the plans of this Carlos? I really love this designs. I would like to do it at home.
Coolvideo, love this channel
buggy sounds good its plenty fast take your time its a lot better doing things when you're not being pushed i have been building too but i have been busy with other stuff too cutting wood and cutting wood well you know what i mean to hang in their look forward to seeing more videos until then i cut more wooddddddd
Estaba esperando esto! Greetings from chile!
Speak English
Good Job
Quisiera saber como le pusistes ese sistema de marcha de carro con un motor de moto no entiendo como hacer. explica porfa
I have a GS550 sitting around that I want to swap into a buggy. I know absolutely nothing about it. What is your chassis and where can a guy get one?
Next add-on should be side mirrors and maybe a rear view mirror.
Nice driving.
Cool how fast will she run
You should put fenders on it to give it that Nomad look
You should put better shocks from go power sports on the dune buggy because the ones that you have right now are just not enough for a buggy like that
Nice car
I wonder what song do you listen that much!
What size engine and what's top speed
how many money did you give?
Hai... Im confused... How i want to make reverse gear at superbike engine.. Please help me
Great job.... I'm jealous.... Maybe lean the carbs a little
its getting to lean at high rpm...bigger jets could solve the problem and on that bike you can just drill them out a little
You have got to make a street legal buggy some day.
How can I build something like this on my own knowing which parts to buy etc etc I wanna build a little buggy I can drive on beach here in south texas ??
You are lucky to be able to ride on the streets there here you couldn't get away with it would get pulled over in a New York minute and most likely cart would get confiscated . LOL Have you ever thought of trying to hook up the tach and speedometer from the bike and put them on the cart so you could see speed rpm's and what gear your in and when you are in neutral? I think it would be a good ideal. Nice buggy engine seems to run great.
The speedometer might be a challenge. They need like a wheel sensor to get it to work I believe, older ones use a couple gears, one on a hub and the other on the speedo cable. He would probably find the tachometer to be more useful and then use the engine speed and the gear ratios in the transmission to roughly figure out his speed.
You must live up north in the south we put everything on the road mowers atv gokarts buggys ect.
David actually know I'M not I'M in Nashville TN and you don't see atv and stuff like that on the road around here maybe somewhere out in the country but not around here.
Put a window on the front
No, wind in the face nicer.
Get goggles!
@@Pau_Pau9 that wouldn't prevent rocks smacking your face.
helmet with visors down when needed, when don't, feel the breeze 👍
Sollution- wear swimming goggles
Use a mesh instead, keeps out the rocks without stopping the wind.
I did forget to mention last video u should make some mud guard or something to keep mud and debris from hitting you
Great video great build do you have reverse or you were you using here feet to backup
Motorcycle engine. No reverse.
Kindly put a windshield and roof with functional wiper
ive always said a crappy motorcycle engine makes a great Buggy engine...the GS 500 is about as good as a moped but on this thing it rocks
You are a little genius ! :)
seems like a 4 speed not a 2 sped what happened that I missed?
What a beautiful place and where is it nice?
Nice buggy you gat there how fast can that thing go whats her top speed??
