    People have problems with the church because of the history and many members are unaware of the true history because they are told to ignore ALL teachings that don’t come from the church. Also, the church has billions of dollars. A VERY small percentage goes to actual humanitarian efforts. -from a former member-me

    Good interview, but the AI narration is really annoying.

      As someone who had to let go of my voiceover work due to AI, I couldn’t agree more, hate to have to admit it!

      Agreed! Love you Susie but get a real person to do voiceovers, if not yourself.

      As a first-time watcher, the AI voice made me think that I was watching one of those channels that steal content from other channels. I was so confused because why did it seem like this channel stole the entire podcast. 😂

    I am appalled by what these producers are putting you through all throughout the first season of the TSLOMW series: not only did they parade the Taylor Frankie Paul episode to create "hype", but also made a public spectacle of Zack and Jennifer Affleck's drama story! I love you, guys, and my heart breaks for you! This is terrible. : (

    @susiewaslike I love this! You are a natural for sure!! This is going to be BIG for you! I have no doubt! I'm actually shocked I just heard about it today! Time to make the rounds on all the other pods!! You seem like such a sweet and kind person who really just wants to understand other people. And I love that you are coming at all of this with just what seems like a curious mind versus any kind of judgment! I'm so glad that @DaveNeal pointed me here!! Good luck!! ❤

    Would love to hear Susie interview a married couple who practice ethical non-monogamy and/or polyamory.

    I love the narration, it gives additional info that Susie can’t give in person. It helps with the story. Maybe Susie should do the narration tho??? She has a gorgeous voice! Either way, I enjoy it.

    I know she has to justify it to feel like her money is going to a worthy cause, but in reality the vast majority of tithing money is not going to charity or victims of natural disasters. The Mormon church has more wealth than almost any other religious institution, and was valued at $265 Billion (it increased by $29 Billion from the previous year). They have extensive investments and those investments are linked to a lot of the ever evolving “guidelines” put out by the church.

    @h33-q8w 2 місяці тому +5

    They do not use all the tithing to help people. 😂 She says they help people which they do but its usually for non members or people they want to convert. My inlaws are very mormon and they went thru something and were struggling financially. But nope the church would not help them. Just told them to be more faithful. 🙄🤦

      This is 100% accurate. Most of the tithing money is used to build temple buildings, support BYU, and pay employees. A large portion of annual tithing is put in an investment account where it sits and grows. The church has hundreds of billions of dollars stockpiled and not used for anything.

    • @sarahh6043
      @sarahh6043 2 місяці тому +1

      This is true. A VERY small percentage of the billions of dollars the mormon church has truly goes to humanitarian efforts

    The definition you posted of Jack Mormon wasn’t accurate. It isn’t related to non-Mormon. It is:
    “a member of the Latter-day Saints (Mormon) who is not strictly observant.”

    I’m an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the actual name of the church, and there is a reason that active members are not getting a HULU TV show; we’re not living salacious and scandalous lives, and it’s disheartening that the ones getting attention are not good representatives of what our church stands for.
    That being said, thanks Susie for still being kind with how you’re talking about my faith. I will agree with Mayci that a lot of members marry very young, and I’m an exception because I married at 31, which I’m now happy about.

    I 100% believe the Mormon church makes divorce taboo. Women can’t go to heaven without their husband so if they get divorced they better figure it out and get remarried asap. It’s sad.
