For everyone comparing Hungry to Björk, there’s a good reason for that: Hungry does Björk’s makeup for her Utopia album and tour!

You know what I like about this series? It's finally a series that doesn't look down on people who dress alternatively, or treat them as little documentary curiosities for "us normal people" to laugh at. It's not a "Hey look at these weirdos, glad we dress normal haha" kind of show. So thank you for this.
Thats the thing....They arent weird. They are just as average as everyone else you see walking down the street. Its the people who DONT need to dress in a way that screams for attention who are truly interesting and weird...
I'm glad that they didn't make this "haha lmao this weird" but instead they're showing *art*

I remember seeing Hungry's makeup for the first time a few years ago on instagram, and immediately I was horrified because they reminded me so much of a moth (I am terrified of moths.) I still get creeped out at pictures of the looks. It's amazing how Hungry has been able to basically transcend the boundaries of the human face - as they were saying at first they couldn't be recognised by facial recognition technology. There is something that is almost the opposite of uncanny because it incites that baseline fear and confusion of seeing something non-human like an insect or a plant through the distortion of the features and the extreme symmetrically.

i love how vogue is trying to show and encourage people to be brave with their look and go over society standard

Exactly. I'm fairly boring, vanilla, etc but I love to learn about all the different ways that people express themselves. And I love that Vogue isn't afraid to give us that.

Absolutely!!👏👏
That’s not brave...but it’s interesting
samler pill, not brave? how many people would go out proudly like that and don’t get anxiety by people stare?
Seems that all the "extreme" makeover people, who do "unordinary" looks, are always the most humble, chill individuals. You don't see much of anything like it in the south (south Carolina, Georgia, Florida, NC....). That's a reason I'd like to travel more, to meet different people, cultures, ethnicities, ect... love it.
Amanda Rettig it’s always good to enlarge your horizons 👍🏼🤩👌🏼
Amanda Rettig NC here, totally
i respect people like that so much, they are always the most tender-hearted, down to earth and loving individuals ever.
Dont see it in VA and WV either
Amanda Rettig I think if I lived in the south, I’d be too afraid of potential violence against me. I grew up in a conservative town and was called “freak” and had people physically harm me because of my alternative style. I live in los angeles now, and have gone out in many wild, artistic looks, but I feel safe here to express myself without being attacked. And it’s so true, how a lot of the people who look “attention seeking” on the outside are often fairly introverted with soft hearts.
You do not dream..u just remember how u looked like in another life..on another planet..in another dimension..just wonderful!
To the people saying that it’s weird: art is not for everyone and I feel so sorry for the ones unable to appreciate it, sending lots of love ur way so you can overcome prejudice one day
passive aggressive love you mean
Everybody is not the same and that's OK. This isn't going to be art for everyone. Concrete thinkers, those who can't think abstractly, are never going to overcome their natural way of thinking.

when watching these series, i honestly feel like im witnessing an artist express themselves and convey their incredible talents in forms of one’s self-beauty. it really points out that beauty standards are just “standards”- a beauty norm most people agree on, but that doesnt mean you have to follow it nor let it impact the way you perceive beauty. i wish all these people the best.

@@oscaravalos9098 we are absolutely cringed out by those people who dont mind their own business.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he covering up who he really is? If you have to depend on makeup and wigs and outfits to define yourself ,then who are you really? What if you can't afford all that stuff? Then that means your stuck with your regular, natural self ? This is all backwards....He's not expressing who he truly is. He is covering up who he truly is....I'm not saying it's good or bad I'm just saying i disagree with his reasoning.nothing wrong with art but i think he is lying to himself and others...why can't we find beauty in our natural self? No makeup,no wigs,no masks and no costumes.
Makeup is used to embrace our beauty. What is wrong with bringing out your imagination and showing it to the world. Problem is with those people who cant accept difference. And as for money, that dude has enough of it to afford stuff. Maybe it's not what he truly is but what he imagine himself to be. Instead of giving hate, we should support him. And in case you haven't noticed, he's talented.

I hate seeing these videos and random people just take photos of them without their consent. It’s not okay and overall rude. You shouldn’t just pull out your phone and snap a photo of someone, especially without them giving you permission.
I know, it's very rude. I experienced this before time and time again. People take pictures and post them on social media and say "Look at this weirdo, hah." Which says a lot about the person who takes the picture and post it with that caption.
Honestly, they can’t really expect any less. They knowingly draw attention to themselves with these outfits and overdone makeup
@EkiEdits No it's not a crime. But it's obvious they dress up in defining and unusual makeup and costumes, for attention or to stand out of the crowd. I have much more sympathy for people who were born with an intellectual or physical attribute that brings unwanted attention, and they can't hide. Or people trying to blend into the crowd by dressing normally, and get their photos taken. With these two circumstances, the photos are usually taken to ridicule the person. I'm simply saying you can't complain about attention when you dress up in over glamorized or bizarre makeup
It’s not illegal to take a picture of somebody in public, it’s illegal to take a picture of somebody in private without consent though.
NaB I didn’t say it was illegal, I said it was rude.
The eyebrows caught me completely off guard. I thought they were real. 😭✨
And I still worry sometimes if my eyeliner is over the top... what a dream to express yourself that way and be the authentic you without letting others stop you, amazing
I see people laugh at individuals like this but to me, they are not only so much interested in the fashion aspect individually but the expression of art. They have to paint on themselves, and create. It's truly who they are. I love it. I crave seeing paintings walking around town. I loved this. So beautiful and inspiring.
