  • Control is the precursor to all effective ground and pound. If you want to attack from the top position, effective control is the only way to sustain your offense with ground and pound. Remember to first control your opponent, then attack.
We break down the use of your underhook and half guard control in this video.

Passing the Low and High Knee Shield...MMA Series

In this video, I tailor it to MMA, but passing the low and high knee shield is very much a BJJ sequence.
    Khabib Nurmagomedov Takedown Technique
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTJbP...
This is a system used by Khabib Nurmagomedov. He often uses the upper body lock to setup his leg trips and double leg entries. Here's a technique he uses in at least a few of his MMA fights.
Khabib Nurmagomedov Leg Lace - Coach Steven Williams
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O_ZC...

    You're the man, bro
Very happy to see legit martial arts being taught instead of the bullshido you normally see. I've been kickboxing for 20+ years, and I have a black belt in Shotokan, but know very little about grappling, other than what I've learned from simply watching MMA for the last 10 years or so. I've definitely learned a lot from watching your videos. It makes me happy your channel has seen such growth recently my friend, you have great content! And I'm even happier you're from New York haha. I'm from Queens myself, and I'd love to learn from you if you ever take on private students, or reopen your gym. Much love and all the best

Your channel is going the right way keep the good job up. I just had a question. I started MMA 2 weeks ago. I have a feeling my motivation isn't right. I find myself day dreaming alot of being a world champion. I feel like I am really looking forward to the materialistic outcome I might eventually have from MMA. I have a feeling that long along my journey these motivations won't take me anywhere. Any ideas or help. If the question needs a more in depth answer I would love to see it in a video

Material focus will betray you over time. Once you make a little money your heart won't be in it anymore. You need a stronger "why." Think deeply about what is important to you. Let that be your driving force. The man with the stronger "why" goes further in this rough sport.

And that pass.. separating their legs so they can’t close their guard🤌
that’s a real “cooking the beans” Situation
We gotta cook the beans before we smash them..
    Great content as always!

That emoji is amazing haha. absolutely, one of our favorite ways to pin the hips. Works well passing from the bodylock as well.

Why go to side control when you have option to go to mount

    • @StevenStranglesPeople
      @StevenStranglesPeople  3 роки тому

The option is there for the mount. I show both. It's based on reactions and your own game as a martial Artist. Sometimes in MMA, side control is a stronger option than the mount.
