      Lol basically yes. The idea of going anywhere but to the place you keep your Band-Aids is bonkers to me for a ball python bite.

    My adult male Mojave bit me by accident(he missed the rat on the tongs), and I just cleaned the wound, and 2 days later I couldn’t even find the bite marks!!! A boa constrictor might leave a bigger wound, and possibly stitches because they have much bigger teeth, but still nothing to really worry about.

      Yep most of the time I've taken bites I can't remember where they were or find them the next day.

      Lol yeah it can be funny to see how much to little ones try to compensate and make a big show to try to scare people off.
      And thank you! 😊 We appreciate it!

    Watching this as I'm 3 hours in, waiting in the ER waiting for my bite to be seen 😂😅 my snake drew blood and held on for 3 minutes. It was dripping down my hand. I just wanted to be safe from bacteria because literally WebMD was the first thing I read 😂

      Sadly its either that or ignorance on their part and I don't know which is a scarier thought.

    I've had three ball pythons and only one has bitten me, but he's done it several times. Each time was a feeding bite because my hand was warmer than the pre-killed rat (this was before it occurred to me to use tongs). I won't lie, it hurts like a bitch. The teeth get stuck under your skin and if he starts wiggling around to figure out what's in his mouth, that makes it worse. But what hurts most is the force. If it gets your finger or knuckle you're likely to have a helluva bruise. It feels like someone dropped a hammer on your digit. Getting bitten had me so twisted up that I went months without even feeding my snakes because I was afraid of getting nailed again. I don't ever want to go back to those days, so it's tongs from now on and I run my hands under cold water with highly scented soap first.

      The only time I have been bitten and wrapped were by hatchlings a couple times so it wasn't quiet so bad. But those ones are a little worse even so lol. Definitely always use feeding tongs lol. Thanks for watching!

      Did you go to hospital? It just happened to me, it's so painful, my family doctor, told me to get antibiotics and tetanus shots.

      That's how mine went. I JUST bought tongs the other day but forgot I had it so I used my hand to dangle it by the tail. He missed. Got my whole tip of my finger in his mouth and held and wrapped foe 3 solid minutes until he released himself while I googled and found that WebMD page with my other free hand lmao. I'm sitting in the ER now 3 hours in because I was worried for bacteria and because he drew blood and really squished his mouth around my finger.

    Hey its cool that u reply to comments. I just bought my first snake, a year old beautiful female ball python. The thing is im so inexperienced she seems pretty calm but im pretty nervous when handling her. Today when handled she was like moving around alot seemed agitated i have no idea if she was agitated or just curious. Any advice on how to be more comfortable. Your video helps cos i guess i was feeling scared of a bite.

      Thanks! We definitely try to reply to everyone 😀 But sometimes even ball pythons can be a little flighty. Just make sure when she is not being interacted with that she has plenty of privacy and places to hide. After that usually with time snakes will learn to trust you and tolerate more handling. Its definitely a balance between handing and letting them have privacy. Just make sure not to handle her after feeding of course.

      Amazing thank u. One more long question. We got a 1 year old coral glow. The pet shop we got her from doesn't really do snakes. He flat out told me that they only started with snakes this last year. I could see that he was also a noob and even more nervous of her than I was. He said he has been taking her out once a week. There is another store close by that specializes in reptiles, this guy was a LOT better, had alot of snakes and clearly interacted with them constantly. He offered me a 4 month old bumblebee morph but the coral glow at the other shop was just much better looking. U think I should rather go for the bumble bee which has peobs been better handled?

    I have a bp and it is my first, got him in November of last year. He hasn't even tried to bite me, if he did bite me I don't think it would even hurt. A small noodle with a head isn't scary at all lol. 😂

    • @RhynosRoyals
      @RhynosRoyals  11 місяців тому +1

      Agreed :) While fear is natural, MOST of the time it is misplaced and one interaction can be all it takes to change and conquer it. I say most of the time because fear is valid and can keep you alive. Being afraid of a tiger for example is far more valid than being afraid a ball python which cannot cause you anything but a small discomfort really and is uninclined to do so in the first place. Thanks for watching!

    Got my first ball python a couple months ago and got bit for the first time it was my fault thought bc it was in its feeding area and I picked it up be for i feed it ot didn’t really hurt it more of gust shocked me

    • @RhynosRoyals
      @RhynosRoyals  10 місяців тому

      Most the the time it is just that. A shock and a jump scare and you are left with little to nothing to show for it. Really nothing to worry about but I think it's human condition to be anxious about "the jack in the box" or the "Ballon about to pop". When it finally happens it's no big deal but that build up is what people worry about.

      Tbh alot of snake bites aren't even a thing to worry much about, Though im talking about typical small stuff, like Rat-Snakes. I was bitten by Blue about 4 times when i got her. Its really not about owning snakes as all pets bite, including dogs and cats. Plus owning snakes can be very important as venom is used to make Antidotes. [[Sorry if this is long or i mistook something, im just pointing it out :)

      @RichardPazwalski 11 місяців тому +1

      I think he is talking specifically about the bite of a ball python tho I agree most snakes don't present a threat and I'd rather be bitten by most snakes then a dog or cat. Non venomous ones of course like a ball python lol😅
