This Passat is a 2012 model with the buttons on the steering wheel and the built in Sat Nav and Analogue clock.
If you have the more basic model you will need to set the clock with the buttons on the dashboard. I have another video on how to to that, the link for that is within this Video.

Thank you! I just bought a 2017 Passat, and I was looking in the menus on the main screen in the dashboard and couldn't find it. I never would have thought it was on the steering wheel! I don't know why things are so complicated these days.

I bought this car used and I don’t have the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel

Okay, so I started the car, but whenever I press the buttons on the wheel, nothing happens. Any idea on why this might be?
Only need ignition on but it should work, not sure why. Hope you can get it sorted

In my Passat there is no option to set Hours and minutes. It has only '24 hours' and 'day light saving'

It just runs off the car battery. I doubt if there is a fuse as it will be such low voltage. But you could check all the fuses. I expect it's a just a broken clock.
