number 5 is not accurate, if you are stuck in traffic for alot of minutes, it's better to put it in neutral, having it on Drive when not moving just heats up your transmission and actually strains it.
I don't think setting it to neutral in traffic light is bad for the transmission. setting it to Drive while your foot is on the brake is actually bad when you are in the traffic light with more than 60seconds time intervals. Because you are resisting the Drive mode a lot and putting much stress in transmission, why? when you set off your foot from the brake while in a Drive mode, your car starts to roll even without stepping on the throttle, that's how drive mode works and you are resisting it for a long period of time. so... if less than 60seconds, hitting brake while on the drive mode is fine but more than a minute is not actually good with your transmission. But the rest in this video is actually accurate.
If you need to put it in neutral especially on a long stop, give the throttle a blip just before changing into gear, you should get a nice smooth change.
@mbcetvchannel3048 it's actually bad for the transmission and there is no difference with saving your fuel. You should put it in Drive instead in Neutral and just let go the throttle and put your feet on the brake pedal just to control your speed
5 and 2 are the ones that stuck out as kinda mis-leading, with 5 yes having the transmission in D at a stop light can help you make a move quickly but with older cars that have higher mileage putting the car in neutral does help with transmission life as that excess heat created from the Torque Converter in the transmission can put that heat into the fluid and wear it out over-time if you sit at long lights in the hot summer with the engine hot it will cook the trans fluid over-time, but if it's a short light and you do that at every light you can wear out the shifter linkage or stretch the cable yes, now with 5 and the fuel, the car will be able to maintain proper fuel pressure due to the PCM or ECM controlling the pump and keeping it running to regulate that pressure UNTIL it can't at which point the car would just stall out, but the biggest thing was you saying you can wear out components of the car by running fuel low is kinda correct wit the FUEL pump cause the gas lubricates and cools the pump so it can wear out or overheat but the engine is NOT lubricated in a gas car as it is a solvent, engine oil lubricates the engine not the fuel, that's why even 2 stroke engines require and oil premix/ oil injection to stay running because gas alone would actually strip all the oil off the components, it's why it can be used as a parts cleaner in a pinch due to it's ability to dissolve oil so well, just wanted to help clear that up
For CVT transmission, best practice for neutral if the traffic lights is gonna be for some time. Gears rotating when the car is not moving, will hurt the transmission sooner or later. CVT belts are weak.
'Stay in gear with foot on the brake at traffic lights'. Others say keeping your foot on the brake annoys drivers behind with brake lights. What's it to be?
It's not the brake lights, most manual car drivers use the foot brake at lights etc. It's dangerous as if there is a rear end shunt or you just get distracted your vehicle will shoot forward.
When you need to pull or push your car. Also before you put your car in park, first put it in neutral, then activate the handbrakes and then put it in park. It's better for your transmission especially when you are in a slope. And finally some car wash need you to put your car in neutral to work.
I use neutral during stops that will definitely last for more than 10 secs. My car vibrates when put in D while stop and I don't think that's good in the long run since the car is trying to move but cant. Putting it in neutral seems to make the car more at ease or maybe that's just my car. But i do think constantly shifting D and N is bad during stop and go which I think is what the video is trying to say. Or maybe its case to case. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. 😅
Setting the gear in neutral while waiting for light is the best, you are not paying attention, and shouldn't be driving, if you keep forgetting to put gear back to drive
i have been driving automatic cars of all types in the last 50 years and did all the bad things u mentioned here...... fortunately i never kept a car more than 2years.... so never had any problems.....hahahha.....
Only a American would complain about their foot being tired from keeping it on the brake. I swear most Americans be trying to put a square block in a circle.
what if its on brake auto hold? (while in D and stopping in traffic if i press the brake pedal it auto locks while in D) and in order to accelerate i gently press gas to move
I totally disagree with everything u said...these people just want to consume our data-even people learning to drive don't do what you say.Absolute nonsense u just wasted our time.
hahaha, fairy tales from the past. Smart people have been driving EVs for a long time now in 2024. Your template compilation is probably about 20 years too late... how pathetic.
I think you are congratulating yourself a little too early. The lithium ion batteries are by no means an ideal energy source. They have a low energy density and if they happen to overheat this can lead to a fire that is extremely difficult to extinguish due to the fact that combustion process in lithium ion batteries produces more than enough oxygen to maintain itself. This is a major problem. As for your remark "how pathetic", my response is "there are none so blind as those who will not see".

I agree with you 💯
Furthermore, if a car hit you from behind it will damage your gearbox
What is finally the best??

@@bryllerazon234 A minute is too long for that. If I should stay stationary for more than 10 secs, I shift to Neutral.
Neutral going down the mountain?

This video could have been shorter without all the music and transition time between each explanation

Wow, that's good to know. I drive a 2020 Versa and while the CVT seems fine, I definitely worry about it. I definitely knew about the belts.
Forgot to mention to keep sand out of the gearbox, and water out of the fuel tank... waste of time watching this
Ask people if they actually know this. If they know not then this video is not a waist of time.
'Stay in gear with foot on the brake at traffic lights'.

On AGS transmition cars if dont put N while stopping or stuck on traffic can damage your clutch kit.
I always keep it in drive
0:43 second that central world shopping mall on the right in Bangkok Thailand 🇹🇭🤗❤️
Use handbrake before shifting to Parking on a hill
How does water get into the transmission?
I guess they mean don't drive through floods, but if you do that anyway there will be water damage to more than just the transmission!
neutral then handbrake then park
I am grooving to the "hip" music in the background.
What is the faction of neutral and when to use N
How water enters transmission? Ways to prevent it?
So, now when should the neutral gear be used ???

I set it in park if I am behind a vehicle and not at the front of the line. That way I have time to shift gears.
Parking on a incline, press emergency brake before putting in park. Is that ok?😊
Yeah I do it even when it's not in a slope
Yes. Always use the parking brake when drivin an automatic transmission.

Total idiot.
in the red light junction, if we come to a complete stop. Then change from D to P. There is no slope on the road. Any issue on this?
Most importantly keep the transmission serviced regularly.
My dad's Ford Focus has a broken trasmission and he deciding to sell or repair it

#3 but if it has a spacial transmision that cars like Ferrari or mclaren with a button for launching it doesn't matter because i5s made for launches
5:32 lovely Ferrari.
Did I hear this man say that fuel lubricates parts of the car? My goodness!
Number 4. My car runs at 800rpm in neutral and 600 rpm in drive😶
Automatics aren’t simpler when they need repairs 😂
There a lot of moving parts in em for sure
Repairs to car is simpler than to my foot.
I can't say I agree with everything but there are some good points in this video if you use your common sense.

how about shifting from D to 4 or 3 or L while vehicle is moving?

Maybe by driving in flooded roads.

No. 5 is a bad advice. Nonsense. You rather prefer to apply brake while vehicle is in Drive for as long as you wait there? Unacceptable 😏
