I got to see him live back in 1968 at the Miami Pop Festival. It was the end of the night and there had been a stream of heavy hitters on. The stage was cleared and the only thing on it was a stool and a microphone. Well, everyone started to leave. Then the announcer came on and said - "Will everyone please rise for the singing of the national anthem." Well, a week or so before he had sung it in his inimitable style at a football game and it created a lot of controversy. So everyone turned around and came back. Well, he just blew us all away, he was sooooo friggin' good.
I had the pleasure of seeing Jose live about 7 or 8 years ago with just a few hundred people in a Lake Tahoe casino. He was very personable and was like sitting with your good neighbor who happened to be incredibly talented. Sitting right in front, second row, and having a great view to really see his guitarwork, he truly is one of the very greats
That was awesome. So used to seeing him play acoustic, first time seeing him play electric. What a great cover of a great song. Thanks Bzen and Harri. There is a really good video of him doing Samba Pa Ti with Carlos Santana and Ricky Martin. It's easy to find on You Tube, check it out.
Jose Feliciano’s cover of Jimi Hendrix is fantastic. Jose Feliciano is blind and play a great guitar. He has great love for blues and jazz rock. Make no mistake Jose play a great guitar. I have seen him on Midnight Special Show.
Jose Feliciano does great covers of many well known songs like The Beatles 'In My Life' and Elton's 'Daniel. Also Harri you should listen to some of Jose's originals. For instance you just missed good timing to listen to 'Feliz Navidad' (Happy Christmas), and 'Rain' which is excellent. Cheers and Happy New Year ✌
He went to my High School. My music teacher talked about him doing shows for the school while he was student. Do him on The Midnight Special doing "Purple Haze"!!!!!
Yes, Jose Feliciano 'is' an incredible talent! You should react to his cover of "Light My Fire" by the Doors and "California Dreaming" by the Mamas and the Papas. :)
Isn't it great Harri? It's a shame he's so identified with a "latin" guitar style. Jose has played about every genre, and brilliantly. C'mon he's covered Hendrix, Sting, BB, Beatles and more...sometimes playing straight ahead Blues & Rock without any latin flavor. I think of him as sort of a Spanish speaking Chet Atkins.

I have never heard this version before. Jose has always been a great but I have never heard him play Blues

The notes that he plays on his guitar are so clear and sharp, I rarely hear that. This is definitely going on my playlist
