I saw BB King live - for free - in 1983. I was a prison guard - and Mr King would give shows for inmates. I happened to be assigned to that concert - and positioned in front - of the front row. I had the best seat for a BB King concert you could ever want. He was an awesome man for giving his time and energy to others - especially brothers who were being harmed by a system. I enjoyed the music with all the others in that audience. He was awesome!
He definitely gets my vote for best blues guitarist who plays clean with deeply intense feeling. For best total package, I prefer Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I'll never argue with anyone who prefers B.B. King.
I think of BB King as African American heritage. That's how important he is.Before James Brown, before Michael Jackson..there was BB King.God knows how many people he inspired to pick up the guitar. His greatness is just legendary
BB is a legend, because of him I fell in love with the Blues. check out BB KING AND STEVIE Ray Vaughn live in New Orleans, L.A at the Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Im so glad youo played BB King he is a huge part of music history and one of the most respected guitarists of all time. Every guitarist owes this man. He is a big part of the great holy echelon of the blues. Robert Johnson, Louis Jordan, Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker, Chuck Berry. Without these guys rock music does not exist
I love all kinds of music. Pink Floyd is my all time favorite. I'm a 54 year old grandma who jams to Slipknot but B.B. King is an absolute legend. You want the blues that's where you go!
@@What15life they don't make real music anymore. I mean i still consider metal real music they still mainly write their stuff and play instruments but this other music that is processed, written by someone else, auto tuned, just not music to me. Not passion like in the 60s and 70s when music was all soul
You guys should definitely react to another blues legend, Muddy Waters. Definitely do Mannish Boy off the Hard Again album. The electrified version. It's an absolute classic!!
Blues Boy King, the pride of Mississippi ❤. One of the GREATEST artists of any genre. I feel so blessed to have seen him in concert. So many guitarists name B.B. as their inspiration. I’ve never heard of a bad word ever spoken about the man. He is what the word “legend” means. Other great blues artists are Albert King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Howlin’ Wolf, and the one who started it all, Robert Johnson. There are so many good blues artists out there. Just dive in and enjoy! 😁❤️🎸
I got to see him at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City in 1981 when I was young. One of the most incredible shows I've ever been to. He had the entire audience in his palm the whole entire show. And it was so fun and I got goosebumps so many times and his band was so good and of course he was all over the stage with Lucille, the guitar that he played for decades. I saw him several years later when he was older and then I saw him at an outdoor festival with other blues luminaries when he was extremely old and right before he stopped playing. He was so shrunken and shriveled compared to his normal robust self and he sat in a chair and it was a very short set but he still had Lucille and his band was still good and he sounded fantastic! Koko Taylor came out for one of the numbers.
I got to see BB King live in 2005. He was diabetic, in his 70's and still put on a great show. He was so warm, charismatic, optimistic and full of life. Amazing performer. It was a privilege to see him play live, and I will never forget it.
Man, I told you guys in another comment to listen to BB. An absolute legend. He just Kisses your soul. He makes the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up, lol. So many rock legends were influenced by him. Listen to the duet with Tracy Chapman that they did. The thrill is gone. She is another ridiculously amazing artist. Her voice is insane.
A few more B.B. King suggestions for the Cartier Family: -Worry, Worry, Worry (live at Cook County jail) -Every Day I Have The Blues -How Blue Can You Get
Blues royalty right there. Nice to see young men discovering the greats that I grew up enjoying. Nobody ever had a negative word about BB - its worth your time to dig deeper into his music catalog.
BB King came to my history of rock n roll class back in college , Indiana university. He spoke and even played Lucille, his guitar. Very humble and laid back guy.
Take it from an old white lady, B.B.King was THE KING!! I used to sit up late in the 1960 listening to him on the Canadian Broadcasting network. The blues started at 10 PM! Lovely for people to listen to all kinds of music.
My favorite version of this song is when BB and Lucille (his guitar) play with Gary Moore in a small venue with an amazing backup band. I have seen it at least 10 times. Magic.
I’m so happy to see someone reacting to my favorite blues artist! I was lucky enough to see him several times in the 60’s. Joe Bonamassa opened for B.B. when he was 12 years old. Joe is now one of the very best blues guitarists. I think you would enjoy watching him and singer Beth Hart perform I’d Rather Go Blind (Etta James cover. If you don’t know Etta James you should definitely listen to her also) Thank you-You made my day!
I know you reacted to STEVIE RAY VAUGHN Voodoo Chile but you have to see/hear Texas Flood live at the El Mocambo!! One of the best blues performances you'll ever see!
When Elvis was a young child he would sneak into the black churches and admire listening to the Choir sing Gospel Music. That started his love for Gospel, R&B, and Rock.
He definitely is the King of Blues he is a legend I seen him in concert when i was a kid in the 90s he gave me the chills his voice goes right though you're soul
He has his own scale! When new guitarists ask how to get better at playing the blues, you show them the B.B King Box! And his vibrato is just sooo iconic.

B.B. King, my favorite of the three kings of blues: thanks for posting this for us. Wonder what your review or reaction to B.B. King and Albert Collins track "Stormy Monday" will be. IMHO the best track of Stormy Monday is the one B.B. does with Albert.🙂 BTW, mention was made of B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughn(SRV). King said of SRV: "'ve said that playing the blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie Ray Vaughan missed on both counts, but I never noticed." Both King and SRV were such passionate musicians (and remarkably good vocalist too!) the would close their eyes and seem to be channeling the music ... never lost on the fretboard. I would recommend Texas Flood by Vaughn for a reaction ... think you'll see why King spoke so highly of him!
Check out Muddy Waters (Manish Boy or Hoochie Coochie Man )... Z.Z. Hill (Someone Else is Stepping In or Down Home Blues)... Bobby "Blue" Bland (Members Only)... Howlin Wolf (Smokestack Lightning)... Johnnie Taylor (Last Two Dollars)...
Good reaction guys! BB King is a great guitarist but I wondered if you guys noticed something UNIQUE about his playing style? BB only plays the guitar when he is not singing. Whenever he sings a verse he pauses his play on "Lucille." He then plays the rest of the phrase on Lucille and then comes with the next singing verse. It's his signature way of playing and it's down home blues style! A female all time great blues artist you guys should react to is...Koko Taylor "I'm A Woman!" Saw BB like 18 years ago at the Muddy Waters Festival in St Louis. AMAZING!! I love R&B!! It might be black culture, but it can touch a white person's soul too
BB's guitar was named Lucille. Look up why. Its a great story. I grew up loving the blues with my dad. I still love them at 65 and always will. I'm sooo happy you guys got to experience the GREAT BB King........
BB King could put more blues in one note than most guys could put in a whole solo. I heard that BB was on the road for well over 300 days each and every year. He never spent much time at home.
I like so much the energy, the words he used and the way in which Tahj (with the additional info from Brock 👏) shared with us his knowledge about Elvis and BB King!! 🤗🤗 What makes it even more beautiful is the complete absence of the "Look at me, look how knowleageable l am!" 😁 attitude in his and Brock's behaviour. Beautifully done, guys! 👏
The best concert I ever went to in my entire life was B.B. King at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. That was when I learned you should always go to the last show of the night for a blues concert because musicians no time limit. B.B. played for close to three hours that night and it was pure magic. The truly amazing thing about B.B. King was that if you watch him carefully you'll notice that he never plays chords. Only single notes. And still got that incredible, thick, rich sound out of his guitar, a guitar that he used to refer to as "Lucille". He made Lucille absolutely sing! I really enjoyed this video. If you have yet reacted to them yet, I have some blues songs to recommend to you guys: "Voodoo Child" performed by Stevie Ray Vaughan, "Mannish Boy" by Muddy Waters, "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood, and "Didn't It Rain" by Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Blessings to you!
I’m a rock guy from the south and play the guitar. Mr. BB King is one of if not the greatest and pioneers of the electric guitar players. Love me some blues. Soul of the south.
First time I saw BB King play was at the Great Southern Music hall in Gainesville, Fl. 1976. Amazing. I was close to the stage, and got to shake his hand! Huge ring on his finger. Greatest Bluesman in the world

This made me smile. I have listened to some BB King throughout the years. He's a great performer and can sang the blues.
One of the BEST artists EVER! Thanks y’all! ❤️
B.B. The King 🌟... Exquisite performance by all there, and great audience too, which just enhances everything. 🌟
Buddy Guy " Feels like Rain"...another great blues singer ❣️
The blues is universal because everybody has the blues throughout their lives and B.B. really is King
You guys are intelligent and handsome, and I love your videos!
I’m a rock guy from the south and play the guitar. Mr. BB King is one of if not the greatest and pioneers of the electric guitar players. Love me some blues. Soul of the south.
The King ever!
First time I saw BB King play was at the Great Southern Music hall in Gainesville, Fl. 1976. Amazing. I was close to the stage, and got to shake his hand! Huge ring on his finger. Greatest Bluesman in the world
