Hello sir a student from Pakistan here sir as u know that USMLE is changing in 2023 they introducing 2023 accreditation so what will be pathways for Pakistani USMLE aspirants as u know that the new Pakistan medical commission is not accredited yet by WFME
We have not seen any Policy statement by PMC yet on this particular issue. Hopefully, in the next coming days, will get a better idea, as it requires an application process and revisits by the accreditation council.
How much a doctor ( eg. Cardiologist) makes in usa? Are there any ways to supplement our incomes apart from our basic salary? What are the cons an IMG face in comparison to native residents/specialists? Please reply
Average physician salaries were $313,000/year in 2019 according to the Medscape Physician Compensation Report 2019. Oklahoma was the top-earning state for all physicians, with an average income of $337,000/year, followed by Alabama at $330,000/year and Nevada at $329,000/year. Cardiology is among the top 5 highest-earning specialties in the US- with an average base pay of $430,000/year. Apart from the base salary, physicians get insurance, retirement benefits and additional bonus based on productivity. US citizens are preferred over IMGs for residency spots. However, after the completion of residency, the jobs are offered based on competence on an equal opportunity basis.
@@ashoaibsonu Yes. According to current US immigration laws, GC processing time for Indians may take up to 10 years. For Pakistanis, the current processing time ranges from 12 to 23 months.
@@faranahmad754 sir i am a final year med student from india, i have a supplementary in my first year plus i have been very inactive all through my mbbs, so i dont have an attractive cv. No one from my college or from my acquaintance has ever been to states. So do i stand a chance in usmle? If yes then , what should i do to make my chance better?
Salam Sir! Please tell me that if finish MBBS from Pakistan and clear my usmle and then go to usa , will I have to study in Med School or direct residency?
Once you complete the USMLE exam and get ECFMG certification, then you apply for a residency spot through national matching process. You can’t practice medicine in the US without completing ACGME certified training offered by US hospitals.
